Hip To Be Round

Decent selection and good customer service. People complain about the prices, but some of this is designer stuff. Dresses are $ 100+ but same brand as Kate Middleton wears. My wife picked up a support belt which was actually cheaper than amazon.
Parking sucks. I think they have another store in Short Pump.

One Sunday my husband, dad and I went to Carytown for some sweets. The dessert shop we wanted was closed so we decided to walk to another sweets shop. My back was killing me from the baby sitting low and I saw Hip To Be Round.
We went in and I asked if they had any maternity support belts. They did and it was like night and day when I put it on. My husband, ever the bargain shopper, check Amazon for a price comparison and it was cheaper in the store than online. None of that mattered to me though and I knew I would leave the store with that maternity support belt.
We decided to see the maternity clothes. I like how there is a large area for guests to sit. My husband and dad made themselves right at home as the sales associate helped me find clothes to try on. All of the clothes were nice quality. And yes, they are more on the pricey side but these brands are pricey regardless if you buy them in this store or online.
I was able to find a few items to wear for the remainder of my pregnancy and also bought my first nursing top. I did miss out on the fleece leggings as they were out of stock but Hip To Be Round contacted me that they were back in stock so I will be back to pick up those leggings for the cold winter months.

Cute little boutique, great for those of us Carytown shoppers who need baby shower gifts…
As a non-​Mommy-​to-​be, I particularly liked the sassy tee shirts with sayings like «I grow people» and «We’re hungry.» They’re the kind of tee shirts that end up showing off baby bellies in a cute way…
The store also has a lot of really nice clothing for pregnant women, as well as some little items to address common pregnancy problems (like belly bands, which I secretly wish they made for us chubby non-​preggo girls). A lot of the clothing is very trendy, but cut correctly… it’s all good quality, pieces you could easily wear in a few years or pass along to a pregnant friend…
And of course, they have some very chic baby blankets, and some upscale strollers.
It’s a little expensive to shop in this store, but that is probably to be expected given the location and the focus on pregnancy– I’ve noticed items related to weddings and babies usually end up having higher price tags…
Overall, a cute local find…

These people are flat out running an on-​line sales scam. So here is how the do it…20% restocking fee after 14 days. Well, better not order anything around a holiday, weekend or through the USPS… and you can also forget about reimbursement for shipping. But to top it off they shipped defective clothing that they obviously knew was defective and had been returned by someone else. How do I know this you ask? Well, typically when you buy NEW clothes from a retailer on-​line they come with some sort of plastic wrapping or tissue paper AND tags. None of which was present here. You cant sustain a legitimate business for long with that kinda service. Good luck scamming…

Cute little boutique for those expecting Mom’s. Trendy hip clothes that aren’t outrageously priced. The sales person who was working was helpful but not at all pushy.
They have an upstairs which has a small selection of baby clothes none of which had to go home with me. This store is also very baby friendly as they have a corner with little toys for you moms who already have alittle one. Upstairs is the Dad’s room with a couch as well as a changing table.
I must say though the store was a little hot. I was enjoying looking and probably would have looked a little more had it been a little cooler in there! Then again I am 33 weeks pregnant and am feeling pretty darn hot in the middle of July!
I did end up making a few purchases. They had some really cute tops/​dresses that will get me through the rest of my pregnancy as well as be great nursing tops!
