This is a cool experience and the fun is in creating your own taste. Going through the line and trying to figure out how you can get all of the items you want is a fun challenge. The service at the Chesterfield location was great, no problems there and the bar where you made your bowl was very well kept. Everything was stocked up. Sign up for their card it’s worth it. You get free bowls pretty easily using their point system. Also free bowls on your birthday.

This used to be my favorite family night restaurant but tonight has been the worst. We were informed of the new CEO’s policy that kids no longer eat free free. While getting our food we noticed the employee assigned to watching the food was reluctant to replenish depleted food items. After being seated the power went out which meant we could get no refills on beverages. Food is still good but the management changes are disappointing. I’m still eating slightly in the dark and the waiter says«are you ready to go?»

Love Genghis Grill. I’ve been eating at GG for over 3yrs and look for them when I’m traveling. I know it will be a complete meal for my young veggie-loving son and me(his carnivorous parent). I visited this one when the first opened. It was larger than our local one(which has now closed), with double sided line and seating. They servers were ok, but on the slow side. However, the food is the fastest I’ve seen in 4 states, which gets an extra star in my book(fast food amd service is must when you have kids). I was glad to see more people dining this time. It used to be empty whenever I went, even during peak hours. Never had appetizers. Desserts are good. Drinks look yummy, bit I have never had one. It is a one time bowl, bit you can pile high. I like to go dieting lunch, but it is a winner anytime.

Didn’t know quite what to expect, but once I got over the idea of choosing the ingredients myself it turned out well. The staff were friendly and helpful. I put together a bowl of shredded beef, carrots, string beans, scallions, mushrooms with salt, garlic and teryaki sauce. They added udon noodles at my request and cooked the food to a tee. I received the bowl back fully cooked within 7 minutes. The ambiance of the place feels lower on the scale but if you are in the mood to eat out with little fanfare I can see how it would be good. The main point is that the staff was friendly and the food was very good.

first time visit today… and it was delicious! friendly helpful staff since we were rookies… much appreciate the fact they asked about food allergies, since my daugbter has a peanut allergy… server directed us as to what to steer clear of, and her food was cooked and covered on a sepaprate grill…

Just simple not very good, you can tell mostley EMPLOYEES give 5 stars while most guest give 3 and below. Meat on the bar looked ok and some looked OLD and discolored. Employee seemed angry that I filled my bowl, where as the IDEa was I azm to fill my bowl for one price. lol This place was laughable, yet the server wasnt bad.

A new place to try. Let me start off by saying that there was great service. No wait, frindly staff, took the extra time to explain the whole restaurant concept, showed us around, and made sure we okay. With that being said, although the concept of bringing your food the way you want it cooked to the grill and watching them cook it for you is beyond awesome, the concept is very much crushed by the fact that none of the sauces really stand out. Most of the sauces tasted pretty much the same, being overly sweet or just salty and sweet. If you don’t have a measuring spoon to measure out the spices to match the sauces, AND you’re a newcomer like me, this bowl is hard to customize. However, if one simply skips the sauces and puts only spices on their food, I think it’d work out much better. Perhaps next time I can try that combination. The variety of rices and noodles was nice, but the noodle really wasn’t Udon. And there was lots of rice. I think I might downgrade the size to a medium bowl next time… Three stars for the warmth and variety and for the cool concept, but only 3 stars because the sauces and spices just don’t stand out.

First time here. Hostess greeted us @ the door, &quickly seated us. Even honored our request to sit further from the door. Waiter wad prompt & friendly, willingly offered to show me the ropes. I chose the«Build your own bowl» option. Selection of meats, spices, veggies, sauces & sides. Presented it to the guys at the giant grill & let them cook it all up. Once finished cooking, the meal was carried to our table & delicious.

Service wasn’t all that great. Wait staff was slow to take initial order, forgot have the drinks and took a while to pick up the bill. This location is situated in the mall, I would give it another try only because we enjoyed the food.

What’s to like here: — Huge variety of options on the menu, the permutations and combinations can run a few pages — you can be the own cook of your entrée — friendly and fast service — affordable prices — good sangria and margaritas on the menu — you can sit outside too, but have a parking lot for a view Meh: — nothing that I’ve experienced

The wait staff was awesome. Straight up. Awesome. That’s three stars right there. The fourth star is cuz I was drunk. I didn’t like my food, I am very particular about the meat I eat and I wasn’t a fan of the chicken or the flavor of the stir fry syrup. This is not a buffet style restaurant, meaning you are allowed one pass through to make your plate, the plate you make is The plate you get. The pineapple coconut cake dessert was yummy and their alcoholic drinks carry a lot of alcohol so, come and get your drink on here fools!

It’s a good idea in theory, but my bowl ended up being gross and i was only able to eat a few bites. I gave it two stars only because it was clean and the ingredients are fresh; however I would not go back. Maybe ask for suggestions on what to pair together or get a degree in culinary or else it’s waisted money.

I went for my first time the other day and I pretty much say it’s like an Asian fusion Chipotle. I say this meaning you get to pick your ingredients and end up with a bowl of goodness. When I first arrived, it was a little confusing because the host/waiter didn’t tell us what we needed to do as first time customers. After letting us look at the menu for five awkward minutes, he showed us what we needed to do and explained the process. There are 5 different categories necessary to create our bowl, which seems daunting at first, but then you realize is AWESOME. It’s preparing your own meal(choosing your meats, spices, etc.) and then someone else cooks it for you. Pro: If you have lots of food allergies/limitations, you can carefully select what you can eat without being that difficult customer. Minor con: If you’re not used to cooking for yourself, knowing how much spice to put into your bowl could suck(e.g. using too little/much salt). Bottom line: The ingredients I chose for myself worked out great and were delicious and for $ 9.99, you can get a large bowl of whatever you want. I would definitely go back again, especially now that I know how the process works.

I went to Genghis Grill this weekend after shopping at Chesterfield Town Center. I’m always excited when a new restaurant pops up in Richmond. This was my first time hearing about Genghis Grill. My meal was delicious. You are given a bowl and mini sauce bowl by your server. You can add whatever meats, spices, vegetables, and sauces you want to your bowl. Once your bowl is complete with your raw ingredients, the cooks freshly prepare your bowl on a open grill. You can watch them cook your meal or sit down and your server will bring the bowl to your seat. The appetizer rolls were average at best. The coconut pineapple cake was really good. The services was awsome. The atmosphere is family friendly with shoppers coming into the restaurant. You can sit in the restaurant or there’s seating into the mall. I would recommend going to Genghis Grill experiencing building a bowl!
