Meet the Business Owner
John F.
Business Owner
John Fralin is a native of Arlington, VA but has spent most of his life in Richmond, VA. John had a childhood surrounded by fine art and artists– his mother was a curator of photography at the Corcoran. John attended the Corcoran School of Art and VCU where he studied painting, print making, and woodworking. He has over 40 years experience in handling and framing fine art. When he isn’t busy making beautiful objects John plays in keyboard in several local bands and plays soccer with his rescue dog, Messi.
In addition to the Carytown frame shop and design studio, John also operates a full woodshop where he builds canvas stretchers, mills moulding, create furniture, cuts down existing frames, makes display cases, repairs damaged frames, and much more.
With an extensive repertoire of materials, conservation techniques, and design principles John has the ability to meet just about all of your custom picture framing, furniture, and display needs.
