Chef Brittanny, Kjell and everyone at Fencewalk were absolutely amazing to us. From first consultation through the event and even the clean-​up, Fencewalk made our wedding perfect. For weeks after it was over, we heard from our guests that not only that it was hands down the best catering food they had ever had, but also among the best meals they had ever had. I can’t stress enough how accommodating and creative and friendly Brittanny, Kjell and the staff were for our wedding. They were the perfect kind of caterers — relaxed but extremely attentive, knowledgable and approachable — not stuffy or over-​bearing.
Our menu still makes my mouth water – seasonal, local, sustainable and reasonably priced. She worked with us every step of the way to make sure the menu fit what we wanted out of the evening and she got it exactly right. Not only is she an absolute expert with meat and vegetable dishes, but she’s also an amazing pastry chef. She made mini honey chess pies, apple pies, whiskey chocolate cupcakes, pumpkin pudding and mini Italian doughnuts fried on sight for our wedding that were all indescribably delicious.
For the months before the wedding, we were so excited not only to get married (which is obvious) but it was also like we had reservations at one of the best restaurants in town. Our wedding far exceeded our high expectations.
Kjell worked the bar and made up some incredible specialty cocktails that were seasonal and balanced. Everyone enjoyed them thoroughly and they weren’t like rocket fuel so everyone remembers enjoying them too. He even made up a non-​alcoholic cocktail for the younger and non-​drinking guests.
Giving Fencewalk 5-​stars is a no-​brainer. If you’re looking for something in the Richmond area, this choice is as easy as it gets. I say with total confidence that you will not find a better caterer in town. You’ll get a menu that is creative and so solidly delicious that your guests will be blown away by your taste.
