Excellent, multidimensional school. Formidable yet humble Sifu. I have been fortunate to be a student at East-West Wing Chun Kung Fu for a little over 2 years now and have enjoyed every moment. I have have trained in other martial arts over the years and can thoroughly appreciate the open, friendly and humble environment here. The instruction is rooted in a solid foundation of martial knowledge and experience while, at the same time, open to new ideas and approaches, bending but not breaking with respect to tradition and the bedrock principles of wing chun, and thus, allowing the art to remain alive in every sense of the word. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is interested in learning traditional and highly effective Chinese martial arts in a respectful, amicable, challenging and yet humble environment.

I’ve been searching for a great Wing Chun instructor for two years before I found this place. There is a fine line between people of incredible mastery and being able to pass said mastery onto others. Sifu John Kang is an amazing instructor and I’ve learned so much in a short 6 months. This is an art and it takes time, effort, and work, so this is not for those who do not like to commit to a remarkable hobby. However, if you are able and willing, this is the place to do it.

I’ve trained wing chun at two other schools and this is by far the best. I’ve been coming for a year and a half now and strongly recommend it. John is a fantastic teacher who breaks things down to be simple and step-by-step without being overwhelming, including sparring, and is available for questions and feedback anytime. The members are from diverse backgrounds and the attitude here is relaxed, supportive, and fun – the perfect balance of competitive and cooperative. I think there’s a right style for everyone, and if you think wing chun kung fu might be yours, come in for a free lesson and see for yourself.

John is an incredible instructor. Whether you have multiple disciplines of Martial Arts under your belt or Wing Chun would be your first; you will be challenged and learn a lot from Wing Chun and East West.
