Amazing service and great burgers! It was our first time & we sat at the bar. The bar tender who assisted us was not only knowledgable of the menu options but his suggestions did not disappoint! I had the Original cooked to chef’s preference which was a perfect medium well. And we ordered the fries with a side of their homemade honey mustard and garlic aioli. Will definitely be going back.

Do you ever just NEED a burger and fries? If you’re me, then the answer to that is YES, always, YES. Burger Bach is my fav. They’re like that old-school burger, fry, and soda shoppe, but in a new-age upscale version. They have an AMAZING bar with a great selection of craft beers on tap, and they have a great selection of sodas as well. Let’s talk fries. It’s my favorite subject. The fries here are a big part of my reason for coming in. I prefer shoestring fries. Thin and crispy for me, none of that«potato wedge» foolery. And thin and crispy is the name of the game at Burger Bach. And now let’s talk dipping sauce. They have seriously changed the game here. They have a vast assortment of house-made aiolis and dipping sauces to enhance your fry game. My favorites are the house-made ketchup and the jalapeño aioli. Ok, now onward to burgers. I would call the burgers at Burger Batch«craft burgers.» They’re pretty fancy. Great, quality, ingredients in unique combinations that are sure to satisfy anyone. They also have a variety of pattys if you’re not a huge beef person or just want to try something new. For me, I keep it simple. I get their classic beef cheeseburger(sometimes I add bacon if I’m feelin’ wild.) It’s fantastic! Overall, great burgers, amazing fries. The portions are generous and the drinks keep on a-flowin’. You must try for yourself.

One of the most phenomenal burgers I have ever had. I had the hangover burger and it was just wonderful. The patty is cooked perfectly and the burger is nearly the perfect size, although it was so good I could’ve had too. The fries are really good here too, and I only tried two of the sauces(curry and garlic aioli, both of which were great) but I have no doubt that they’re all really good. My coworkers had lamb burgers and were thoroughly impressed with those as well. Only been here once but I can’t wait to go back.

The place is straight bumskiddadle! Only thing they could improve is hand making the burgers on site. LIKE I DO!

Absolutely the best burger joint ever, if there’s one place that I know will be good and will never EVER let me down in Richmond, it’s burger Bach. My boyfriend and I have tried almost every burger(we’ve been there at least like 14 times, not even kidding) and have never been disappointed. ALL and I mean ALL their sauces are incredible — their ketchup is the best in my opinion. Highly recommend

Duuuuuuuude. You’ve gotta try this spot. Listen, Get the garlic aioli dip for the fries. YOU’REWELCOME. I always get a hangover burger and a beer or 2. Never had somethin there I haven’t liked yet either.(I’ve tried 3 different burgers) Staff is well trained and knowledgable about the inventory on tap, and styles of burgers. Seriously, why are you still reading this? Go!

Great burger! I had the Queenstown and loved it. It came with a side of mixed greens with a simple olive oil type dressing which was fine. I ordered fries on the side which were fine. They have a large selection of dipping sauces which is cool if you’re into that. For me it was all about that delicious burger. The place was cool, clean, and the staff was friendly. It’s located in a strip mall with a busy parking lot so be careful — people do not know how to drive and someone opened their car door into ours as we were sitting in it. I recommend Burger Bach and I for sure want to go back!

I have been here a few times in the past few months and I am never thrilled with my experience. Both times I went it was absolutely packed and loud to the point I couldn’t hear the person across from me. The most recent time I went, I went with someone who had never been before and the server wasn’t very helpful in explaining the menu, offering suggestions, or recommendations. We ended up with meals we weren’t satisfied with and paying more than we would have liked to for the food we ordered. I have had good food there, I remember the lamb burger being delicious and they had several beers on tap at the time that I would highly recommend. However, I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon.

I ordered the Asian Thai Burger & it was evvverything! The pineapple was weird to me at first but it really added an amazing flavor to the burger! Oh & I hate cole slaw but this apple glazed flavored slaw was really good! It also added so much flavor & texture to my burger!(Again the waiter was on point telling me I should get it on the side & just try it) I looove French fries so it’s pretty hard to disappoint me unless they’re cold or old. The fries here were very good, traditional straight cut, nicely salted & fresh! I got the blueberry dipping sauce & it was awesome! Service was great, the waiter was friendly & gave great recommendations & reviews according to my taste buds!(Bonus! He actually stood there getting to know what flavors/fruits & other foods, I like to determine which sauce I should order) definitely will be going back!

The burgers here are absolutely amazing, and even now I can distinctly remember the flavors of it all(and I’m no sauce savant!). I’ve been here twice, though I will remark on my most recent visit. Came here to enjoy dinner with a few old friends and I arrived a bit early on accident. The hostess was kind enough to let me reserve the table despite the rest of my party not yet having arrived and I enjoyed a Devil’s Backbone draft in the meantime. On that note, this place has an excellent draft selection sure to appeal to any beer connoisseur. After my friends arrived, we got down to business and put in our orders. I had the Wellington burger and it was nothing short of delicious. I will mention my disappointment that fries cannot be substituted in as your side, you are forced into getting salad. While I’m sure my lifespan was lengthened by at least a few minutes by the greens, you should still offer your customers the ability to substitute other sides(with an upcharge if you have to). Anyway, we ordered sides of fries and sauces to share, so I was safely able to reduce my lifespan again back to normal(and it was an enjoyable process, with plenty of sauces to choose from). The service here was okay, though our server did disappear a few times when everyone in my group sorely needed refills. As a former server myself, I understand it can happen to the best of us. I still tipped well, though for those considering coming here, you can expect pretty average service and occasional callbacks. The food here isn’t cheap, though you know coming in the door that they source their beef and produce their ingredients in very unique and expensive ways, so you shouldn’t be surprised when the bill comes. I would definitely continue to make trips here… just need to come with someone who will eat my salad for me! Overall: 4.0 stars — — — — - Pros: — The beef is amazing and worth every penny, as are the sauces. — Draft beer selection is excellent. — Service is not particularly good, though it certainly isn’t bad. Cons: — Being forced into salad is unfortunate. I can’t tell if this is done as a ploy to get you to order fries separately or as a ploy to get kickbacks from insurance companies as their leafy greens lengthen your lifespan. — Costs are somewhat high, though this is understandable at an upscale burger place.

The thing here is not just the burgers, for the 5 Guys-versus-In & Out –verus Cary Burger-versus whatever, burger«Illuminati.» It is a comination of many amazing things. Their burgers are incredible, but the Fries… now this is a whole other dimension. With the amazing dipping sauces, you can just have a french fy date with your S.O. and be happy! The gluten-free bun is better than almost anywhere I’ve tried. The beer selection is awesome. Bathrooms are always clean. The tall big table and chairs in the center alow for great fellowsip. The hangover burger fixes just that. There is NOTHING in all the times I’ve been here that I do not like!

Terrific burgers — great fries and dipping sauces. I still haven’t tried Carytown Burger which gets great reviews but I know Burger Bach is going to be hard to beat. There location at short pump is great to. Like the large social table in the center.

Phenomenal burgers here. Juicy, fresh, big, and tasty. Blueberry on a burger? Sounds gross, but they make it work. They have an amazing variety of sauces, the service is usually good(I came here late once and the service was really lacking), and the bar selection is great. I wasn’t blown away by the beer options when I was there(not quantity but quality), but they still had some good stuff. I also the outdoor seating, and there is convenient parking nearby. The biggest issue I have with the place is that you have to pay extra for fries, and instead they give you a salad with your meal. I appreciate their efforts to be healthy, but when I order a pint of beer and a juicy 10 oz burger with bacon and a fried egg, I’m not really in the salad eating mindset. Fries should just come with the burger. The prices are a tad bit steep too, but nothing that I can’t live with. There are surprisingly not many good gourmet burger joints in RVA, and this place fulfills the craving.

Service seems to have improved since our last few visits. The center communal table is nice if its not too crowded. We ordered the fries as an appetizer and they came out just before the meal, Hard Root Beer and a north lamb burger. If nothing else, the lamb burgers are great and make it worth the trip.

I really enjoyed my meal at Burger Bach but I’m not sure I’d be back. The pricing is just through the roof compared to many other gourmet/specialty burger spots I’ve been to. I’m not going to fault them too much on price because that’s your choice if you’re willing to pay that, but for me, it’s not justifiable. I wanted to check out the Carytown area while I was visiting for the Brandon Flowers concert at the National. Based on the reviews I chose this place for a late lunch. It was post lunch rush so there was no wait and the service was very efficient. I had the Wellington Burger and it was excellent. Often times, burgers are ruined by having too many wet topping and the bun can’t handle it, but this wasn’t the case. They did a phenomenal job on the burger. Sandwiches all come with a side salad whether you want a salad or not. It was just a pile of lightly dressed lettuce and I wasn’t a fan. It’s not really a side item so you’re paying $ 12 for a burger and then still need a side a-la-cart. We shared an order of fries with roasted onion dip sauce. The fries were great and I did enjoy the sauce. For beers, they had a unique selection and seemed to have a focus on some seasonal watermelon brews. We both tried one and they were very refreshing. The bad part was when the bill came. We each had one beer, our own burgers, and shared a side of fries. After tax and tip it came out to $ 58. I’m not okay with paying almost sixty bucks for that and still leaving hungry. You decide for yourself. Great quality and taste but a burger, fries, and a beer should never be more that $ 20 a head… that’s just ridiculous.

I prefer«artisan» burgers to other burger places, and Burger Bach does not disappoint. I prefer the original location in Carytown to the newer location in Short Pump, even though the Short Pump location is more convenient to me. But overall they are both great places. Burger Bach uses grass-fed New Zealand beef, and I think it makes a huge difference in the burger. That in itself is a huge sell for me, not only in taste but in the quality of the meat you are eating. Some people may not like that the burgers don’t automatically come with fries, but I love the side salad that it comes with. If you want fries, you can order it separately and pick your dipping sauce(s)(trust me, garlic aioli all the way). The best burger option they ever had is the New Plymouth. I actually think it is off the menu now, but the last time I went they could still make it(fingers crossed that is still the case when I next return). It was amazing, with bacon, brie, onions, mushrooms, and a tarragon sauce. Perfect. If you haven’t tried BB yet, get in there. They can get crowded at mealtimes, so I would plan to go early if you don’t want to wait. But the wait is worth it, trust me.

If you are a burger/red meat eater but also love free range foods then I highly suggest Burger Bach! Burger Bach is truly a farm to table with a laid back ambiance. While the wait was long, I feel that it shows just how demanding they are within the Richmond community.(The fact that they serve Crabbies also makes them cooler). We sat outside and were even able to see fireworks going off in the distance. I ordered the Asian Thai chicken burger and it was mouthwatering! The patty itself was nice and moist and if you are looking for a beef substitute, I would recommend any of the chicken burgers. The peanut sauce that came with the burger was sweet and just delish! I greatly appreciated this unique concoction. The burgers come with side salad which the vegetables tasted fresh. Our table also ordered some fries which was just phenomenal! I’m excited to go back to try and checkout their seafood menu as they have seafood happy hour M-F. I highly recommend checking it out but just know you may be waiting a bit.

So, unlike the majority of people who come here, I didn’t like the burgers. I know, shocker! I love burgers, and it’s really hard for me to find one I don’t like. But truthfully, I didn’t like either of the burgers that I had when I came here. My dining companion and I ordered two burgers and split them both. On the plus side, we asked for pink in the middle and that was perfect. On the down side, the toppings on both burgers left something to be desired. Let me explain! We ordered the West Coast and the East Coast burgers and to be frank I found the East Coast burger to be sickeningly sweet and insanely goopy. There is so much sauce on that burger that when you bite into it… it’s just… awful. Where you should be expecting tender meat, a soft bun, and crispy bacon instead you get what I can only describe as someone pouring BBQ and mayo into your mouth. Vile. Vile. Vile. The West Coast burger, despite having spicy ingredients is surprisingly bland. Again, wayyy too much sauce(but not as bad as the other one). Also, major points being taken off for both burgers having soggy bacon. I mean, goodness, how does that even happen if the cook is paying attention? The fat wasn’t even rendered on the West Coast burger – so I peeled it off. Definitely would not come back here without a seriously good reason. Just terrible.

This was an awesomely delicious burger. I had the Wellington. DH had the Basic. DH and I have been meaning to go for ages, and finally got around to it for date night. I left work a little early so we could beat the crowd, arriving around 6. So we had no difficulty getting a table. From what I understand, grass-fed beef means you can safely order a burger medium rare(«pink») without worrying about e.coli. So I did. It was perfectly cooked. With my Wellington, it was sloppy good with blue cheese, HP Sauce and grilled onions. The greens on the side were terrific, and the fries? Perfection. They have a variety of dipping sauces. In addition to the organic ketchup, we had jalapeño remoulade and chipotle BBQ. DH was especially pleased with the choices. The next time I come back, it will be for Happy Hour oysters, mussels, and shrimp! Highly recommended.
