Ace Custom Tailors

Because I stand only 5 feet tall, I can’t buy pants that don’t require whacking off 5 inches from the bottom. I look around my world and notice many women my size. I suppose I could stop them and inquire as to where they find their perfect lenghted pantalones, but that’s just too weird so I have to have each pair hemmed.
Ace Tailor has been around for a long time. Looks like Mr and Mrs Ace run the business. They are Asian so I have to listen very carefully to what they say. Luckily, when I go in, they know why I’m there (short girl with pants) and point to the tiny dressing room.
Mr Ace has me stand on a little round floor throne, lifts my pant legs to the perfect length and marks them with chalk. No pins. He’s kind of magic that way.
$ 12 and two days later, I have pants that don’t cover my feet… well worth the expense.

I have been going to Ace Tailors for years. They have done everything from minor alterations on a dress or pants to completely rebuilding a suit for my husband. The language barrier can be problematic at times, but the workmanship is always great. Today I learned that they make custom-​made dress shirts for men for $ 85. I think that price is outrageously wonderful. Now I have to convince my husband that he needs to be a bit more stylin’…
