Arc’s Value Village Thrift Store

I am not a dealer or 2^nd source reseller. My style is Victorian/​French Gardens décor. I buy for My home and as a gift giver. I look for unique, clean and well loved items with character.
I have stopped@ Arc’s in Richfield numerous times since 2005 and have never purchased one thing from them… Not one item…
I look for vintage porcelain knick knacks, candle holders, service ware/​tableware and china. Everything I’ve encountered here was chipped, broken and imperfect with an outrageous price tag attached. I assume these items were not donated damaged… Perhaps your processors need to handle these items with more care or if they are fractured upon donation, throw them away but don’t price them and put them on your shelves to sell. Price your actual product on hand and not prices from an online retailer site.
My question to Arc’s is How do you justify $ 14.99 for a pink depression glass tray with a chipped handle (worthless and useless in this condition)? First, you’ll slice your hand with that and secondly, you can purchase the exact same tray on
for $ 30. Your competitor isn’t an online retailer site… Your strict competition is Savers/​Unique chains… They set their prices for these exact goods @$ 3.99 to $ 6.99!!! And don’t tell Me about your non profit relations… It doesn’t justify selling defective products@ half the cost of a useful more valuable item.

I’ve donated to this store twice and the process is very easy. The first time I went, I went inside the store. It took awhile to get someone to talk to me, but eventually I was able to speak with one of the store employees and was directed to put my bag of donations in one of the blue bins near the front of the store.
The second time was much better. I drove around to the back of the store (follow the signs), where there is someone to help you unload your donations from your car, and will give you a donation receipt for tax purposes and a coupon to shop at the store when you are done. The employees at the back of the store are helpful, ready to receive donations, and that is the best place to drop them off, even if you aren’t bringing much.
I don’t think I’d shop for clothes here personally, based on what I saw that one time I went in (although some reviewers have found some treasures so maybe it’s worth coming back a few times), but I think I would come here to look for some kitchenware I am in need of, especially since I have a coupon now.

My first experience here wasn’t the greatest, but I thought I would give it another shot. I will say that the inside conditions didn’t change, but after digging around for a while (I spent 45 minutes here), I found some pretty awesome finds. An authentic Prada wallet (only 2 $ because of the tag sale) and before you question authenticity, I’ll say that I do happen to own this wallet in four colors and can attest to the fact that it’s real. I also found a photo album from the early 1900’s (it was beautifully bound and still had the photographs in it) and boy was I a happy camper.
I say if you’re going here, dig dig dig and I’m sure you’ll find some treasures. I’ll probably be back to this location.

I wasn’t even able to finish my shopping experience here but I walked out with so many great things!
They have a member card now so you get 25% off in the summer months. They also have tag sales like other thrift stores.
A large store with many quality items.
Some of their staff is kind of grumpy and you can here them gossiping and complaining sometimes… but others are simply amazing.
I started getting a sore throat the day I went and it so happened that while I was shopping my throat got itchy and my eyes started watering. I couldn’t talk well but asked if there was a drinking fountain. There wasn’t but the employee I asked stopped what she was doing and brought me a glass of water. So freaking sweet. I was a little embarrassed but this lady was beyond helpful.
I can’t wait to go back!

Since I started shopping at Thrift Stores a few years ago, I’ve learned the best around is Arc’s Value Village. Especially the St Paul store and the new Bloomington store. While the Richfield store and New Hope Store are always full and busy, the St Paul store and Bloomington store are less busy and I always find good stuff. I just bought an oak Bissell Carpet Sweeper from the 1920s for $ 12 that still works from the Bloomington store. It is so cool!

I’ll get the embarrassing part on my end out of the way…
I’ve been here a few times before… and today, well, I was a mess. I had rushed into the bathroom before going on to shop, and was in such a hurry I didn’t realize I’d left my cell phone there. I discovered it presumably gone about 15 – 20 minutes later and panicked. The staff were really patient in spite of me freaking out, and were glad I found my phone after I remembered I had gone to the restroom. Props to the girl who had the coloring in her hair– I think it was aqua or something like that? She was very understanding as I panicked to her about my situation when I decided to try asking employees around the store if they’d seen it.
That said, this store is great. I’ve gotten jeans here in perfectly good condition for around $ 7, I just bought two skirts there today. I bought a black dress there a couple years ago that still looks great on me– that was $ 7 too. I had wanted to go back to this store for a while, so stopping in on random chance today, I’m glad I had a good time shopping there as usual– special thanks to the staff. I know I’ll be back for the clothes as well as the good service.

I love to thrift it started off when my mom would drag me out the house to thrift shop with her and I hated it at the time I was 6 that I remember but now as im older and on a budget! I love thrift shops! and this one in Richfield I have been coming here for years I discovered this one because of my mom back in the day and it still stands strong
I buy jeans here I actually got my first True Religion Jeans here for $ 4 instead of like $ 250+ at MOA and they look brand new no tears no stains they have a lot of name brands here people donate that are and really good condition! I also get my hangers here there like 94 cents for a pack of 25 instead at some other store a pack of 25 for like what $ 9 and there just hangers!
I love this one I always stop by when im in the mood to be cheap and CVS is right next door so perfect!

You’ve got old stuff? I want it.
Arc’s Value Village is a nice treasure trove of pretty much anything and everything. Shoes? Yes. Wrapping Paper? Sure. Wooden Hangers? Best deal in town. It’s all organized neatly and employees are constantly putting new old stuff out (if you followed that) so you can walk by a rack and have something else catch your eye in the same visit. Plus, they have tag sales every day of the week, so you could walk in on Wednesday and get 50% off all purple tag items (I KNOW).

Totally great thrift store. Lots and lots and lots of stuff! If you love stuff check this place out. TONS, I MEAN TONS of stuff! Weird stuff, cool stuff, clothing, misc. paraphernalia. You’ll find something and it supports a great cause unlike Savers and profitable businesses. Non-​Profit, great stuff, tons of stuff. You gotta check it out. You’ll smile with ideas of what you can do with some of this stuff! STUFF! Pick up a CD for a buck, a DVD for two, a chair for 6 bucks. Really amazing and support their cause. Drop some stuff off, pick up some stuff. Cool store.

I moved away from Minnesota in 2002, and almost every time I go back to visit, my mom and I shop here. I think I’ve left here only one time without buying something. Everything is well organized an the staff is friendly. I always check the «couture» racks for nicer brands, but there are always the better brands mixed in on the regular racks, too so don’t skip over those. I think my biggest score there was a pair of barely worn Steve Madden leather cowboy boots for $ 20. I also like checking out the glassware because you can always find something unique from some event or place.

I ALWAYS find some sort of treasure here whether it be home décor, Levi’s, or a vintage scarf. I can’t stop shopping here. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is friendly. It does get crowded on weekends, but that’s because it’s awesome.

I shop at thrift stores pretty frequently. I used to focus more on clothing, but over the years I’ve gotten less interested in clothing (possibly because I gained weight and it’s difficult to find used larger-​sized clothing that isn’t some sequin-​covered muumuu from 1985). I do, however, scour thrift stores for craft supplies, books, CDs (yeah, I still buy and listen to CDs), records, and jewelry that I can upcycle. I don’t think I’ve ever left Value Village empty-​handed. I almost always find at least one package of unused cross-​stitch fabric. I also love picking up retro craft books that have all sorts of kitschy ideas. I’ve gotten some good CDs and records there as well. The prices are very reasonable, and the selection is usually pretty good. The employees are nice, too. If you’re looking to find some thrifty treasures, this place comes highly recommended.

So maybe I can’t afford to eat at all of Edina’s nicest restaurants, but I can afford to buy all of Edina’s fastest revolving closet leftovers! This Arc’s location is a gold mine of Banana Republic, Express and Limited clothes that are still at the mall. And four dollars for a twice worn shirt that I can wear to work for years is a pretty awesome value proposition for me. On my first visit I came out with twelve nearly new, name brand items that actually fit me great.
This store is really well organized, items are organized first by item type and size then color, so if you are looking for something specific, you should have no trouble at all finding it quickly. This store also has a pretty elaborate shoe section relative to other local thrift shops. Lots of seating and everything is by size so you don’t fall in love with a practically free pair of Steve Madden Pumps you couldn’t fit your feet into in your dreams.

Let’s see, you can get a great deal on some really decent clothing and do GOOD all the same time? How could this not be 5 stars?
For those of you that won’t wear second hand clothing, please, go out an buy a nice polo shirt for $ 25, wear it a few times, then donate it to ARC. I will then pick it up for $ 5 and happily wear it. We will both be doing good.

Its good. Its really good. Not as good as Golden Valleys’ location, but still totally worth your time.
Considering the location and the neighboring suburb of Edina, I figured that there would be lots of high end stuff. There were about two racks, and the most high end Ive seen is a well worn cashmere sweaters from Neimans and some Joes jeans for $ 29.99. Not what I was expecting. However, once you lower your expectations, there are treasures to be found. I found a few skirts there and a fully beaded wedding dress for $ 10. While I did not wear the said dress, I used the beads for lots of projects. And those were good crystal beads too.
Most of the store is nicely arranged, so you do not have to dig through clothes in another size and neon colors, unless you like neon, they have it too.
Their kitchen/​random decorations department is quite extensive. Good books too. But, it could be overwhelming.

In have donated to Arc in the past, yet have never actually ventured to one to thrift for treasures myself.
Well folks, today was the day. And I was in search of a funny or fun (up to this gal to decide) gift for a work Christmas party. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide assortment of houseware items, and clothing.
I spent most of my time wandering around the mugs, magnets, and cookie jars, and finally stumbled upon a winner. That being four vintage McDonalds glasses, covered with colored images of Mrs. Piggy & the Hamburglar. Cheap too! The staff here was incredibly friendly, and even found the perfect wine bag to place my glasses in.
I will definitely be venturing back here more often to browse, especially to their denim area to find those J. Brand Jeans that Ms. Annie D. spotted back in the day.

I love Arc’s! I’ve scored several awesome things here over the years, and love that their prices are relatively low (compared to Saver’s and Goodwill) for better brand clothing that mostly seems have seen little to no wear.
My husband and I took advantage of the new personal shopper service, and it was great! All we had to do was fill out a brief survey and come in to try on the clothes that the shopper, Catrice, had picked out for us! The hard part of thrifting was done for us, and we ended up scoring a bunch of really nice stuff.
I will definitely come back for the personal shopper service, and will be back to score more finds on my own!
