Why Pay More Auto Service

I am so grateful that I have found this place for my car repairs. It was very affordable, and my repair was quick. I went in for servicing of my breaks and rotors. I originally went to Meineke and I payed about 500 for my breaks and rotors. I took it here and payed a little less that 230 for the back breaks and rotors. If you have a car repair you will not be dissatisfied if you take your vehicle here. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I was referred here, and I’m glad I was. Got my timing belt changed and a few other minor stuff and saved $ 200-​$ 300. Phil is very friendly and very thorough, and he won’t try to fool you by saying you need additional services. Highly recommend!

When you need an honest mechanic who will save you money and do the job right, Phil Catagnus is your man. I was referred to him by a friend in 2007 and have been taking my cars to him ever since.
The savings start with his labor costs, which are lower than dealerships to begin with. This is especially helpful on longer jobs where you’re looking at 1 – 2 days of labor and potentially saving hundreds of dollars.
He doesn’t try to screw you with ridiculous parts markup either, and will let you provide your own if you are so inclined. That said, when the quality of a particular part will make a tangible difference, he’ll get the nicer part for you (or let you know and offer his suggestions).
While fixing your car, Phil is looking holistically at the work he is doing, how much you are paying, and what will happen with the car in the future. If he spots an opportunity to save you money on something, he’ll bring it to your attention while he’s still working on it rather than wait for you come in for a costly follow-​up. Many mechanics, in contrast, will fix things over multiple visits so they can bill you for the same labor (e.g. disassembling things and getting to the repair site) again and again.
That all said, cost savings wouldn’t be helpful if you sacrifice quality or are left feeling uneasy about the work. Thankfully, Phil explains things in plain English that non-​mechanics can understand. He tends to be very demonstrative and will show you what is causing the problem, which parts are involved, and how he plans to fix it. At the end, rather than just throwing away the evidence and giving you the bill, he shows you the faulty parts he removed and answers any additional questions.
Finally, and perhaps what I appreciate the most, is that Phil will give you a no-​bull answer as to what maintenance is critical and what can be deferred. His mindset is clearly focused on building repeat business from satisfied customers rather than nickel-​and-​diming people on every repair.
There are tons of reasons I suggest giving Phil your auto repair business, but the simplest way to say it is that he rehumanizes the auto repair industry and doesn’t make you feel like an idiot for not knowing what a headlight fluid intake valve gasket cover terminal is.
This is my 201^st review on Unilocal and there is not a single business among those that I would recommend more emphatically than Why More More Auto Service.
EDIT April 2015: Still taking my car here and recommending it to friends and family. Every time I do I get an enthusiastic phone call afterward that sounds something like this: «OMG Steven, where did you find this guy, he is amazing!» Still the best.
