I said in my last post I won’t be here again, well today was a luncheon for work-team of about 20 people including myself so I had no choice, and who passes on free food? I got the same thing, I previously did from my past post but with sausage, fries, Mac N Cheese. This time I requested BBQ Sauce. I’ll keep this short and sweet. The bread this time was buttered generously(I guess they saw my review). Their was A LOT of sausage, and the sausage was delicious. Well cooked and nice big pieces. Overall I was very pleased! The Mac N Cheese could of had some pepper and salt on it. The fries could of been crispier and salted. But they werent bad. The entrée satisfied me so I’m happy. I’m a fan now. Also my coworker got the same as I did but with brisket and my Goodness, they LOADED her sandwich! They are very generous with their meats for the price!

Please please please PLEASE do not waster your time. Seriously, I went at 1:00PM no line. I ordered 2 meats pulled pork and sausage added a baked potato and a drink. Meal came with a Texas toast close to $ 15. Pulled pork — Extremely dry and PLAIN, no seasoning at ALL. Sausage — Cold and extremely salty Baked potato — Just ok nothing special, it’s a baked potato. My coworker had the 3 meats, pulled pork, sausage and ribs. The ribs were extremely tender, but just like everything else had no flavor. I mean seriously you would think with the name TEXASSMOKHOUSEBAR-B-QUE it would be worthwhile. But everyone seriously go somewhere else this place doesn’t even deserve 1 star as far as the food. The staff and service were fine. my recommendation: Just DON’T

I guess I missed«the good time» for their BBQ. Ordered ½ lb brisket and ½ lb ribs. Worst BBQ I’ve ever had. Ribs were bone dry, meat hard and chewy and tasted like the ones I cook in my crockpot. Brisket also very dry, bland, no BBQ flavor whatsoever. If you serve until you run out of food, then have the decency to close when you run out of edible food. Stayed clear of all sides as they were old, hardened and dried out, much like the meat. Don’t waste your time or money.

I decided to make a return to this restaurant after reading new positive reviews and I have to say that I was happy with the food. What I have learned is that you have to get here when the food is cooked fresh. They close early and when the food is gone, it’s gone. What ever is left over sits under a heat lamp, so you want to make sure to get here before the lunch rush if you want the best food. I got the family pack for $ 18 which included a pound of meat or meat combination, two pint sides, and four pieces of toast. It’s a great deal and the food is quite good.

We were told by a friend that we had to come to Texas Smokehouse to have true Texas BBQ. When we arrived we told Tony, the owner, that we were visiting from California. Since we didn’t know what to order he made us a sampler plate. Brisket, sausage, chicken, ribs, turkey. So much food, I couldn’t finish at all. It was delicious! I highly recommend this place.

If it’s good barbecue flavor you want find another place. No smoky flavor on the brisket and the sides are bland. Just not good. I feel sorry for Any people that come here as a regular and thinks this stuff is acceptable. They may want to revisit their recipes.

No frills, just delicious food! This place is close to my office and anytime we want BBQ, this is our go-to. HUGE portions for extremely reasonable prices. I’ve never been here and paid more than $ 10 for a giant lunch and a drink. Seriously enough for two meals. The sides are great as well. I have never liked any baked beans except my grandmother’s and theirs are the closest I’ve ever had. The owner and staff are super nice and accommodating, which makes it all the better.

Up front, very friendly guy and he made me feel very welcome. When I asked for a chicken breast sandwich, he gave me exactly what a asked for — a chicken breast sliced up on bread! Amen! There was no skimping — even for 5 dollars — and it was moist and tasty. What made this experience awesome was the really decent barbecue sauce. I didn’t taste the smokiness in the meat — it’s a lean meat — but it was at least up to my expectations. What’s real neat is that I even dipped my cheddar potatoes into the bbq… And I liked it: p Now, to clarify, the 4 star indicates mostly friendliness and 3 star meats, but the 3 star is matched with the price. This isn’t Maserati bbq place, but quality for the dollar is definitely a good match.

I was hoping to go to 1050 for lunch and found out they weren’t going to be open till later that day as I was disappointed driving down Arapaho I noticed this little barbecue joint and figured I’d stop in and try it. I was pleasantly surprised it had the vibe of a small town barbecue joint with way above average bbq which I think is better than 1050 in a lot of ways and much cheaper I definitely recommend it.

Love their BBQ and size for the money it’s worth it. It gets busy but it’s good eating. Plus it’s close to the job and that’s always a plus. I normally do the two meat special and self serving sides so you can pretty much load it up. I always leave overloaded lol

I work really close to this place and finally decided to give it a try. For the price it was very good. I had the super baked potato that comes with chopped brisket. I’m pretty sure they put at least a full pound of meat on it and it was delicious. That’s hard to beat for $ 6.95 so I will definitely be adding this in the rotation. Regular daily lunch specials seemed to cost around $ 9.99 for a meat option or two plus sides. Still reasonable and better than a lot of the competition in the same price range.

Let me say that this place was better than I thought it was going to be. Walking in, I felt like a transported to a 60′ s cafeteria. The atmosphere is kinda outdated, but it also had a charm. I ordered the rib and brisket dinner with fried okra and coleslaw. One thing that took me by surprise was the meat is actually moist. The ribs had a few dry spots, but overall, it was tender. The problem was the meat had no punch to its flavor. They call it a smokehouse, yet there’s no strong smoke flavor. It kind of there, but it tastes more like it was baked in the oven rather than smoked. This is the same problem with Metzlers, which I find interesting. The coleslaw was quite creamy and could have used a little more vinegar. The okra was pretty good crunch wise, but okra cant hold the entire meal. The sauce they serve is pretty good, but nothing amazing. I was pleased with my meal, but I still would rather go to Hutchins or Pecan Lodge. If you really want BBQ and find yourself in the Richardson area, I guess this isnt a bad choice, but its certainly not the best.

I’m being generous with three stars, but then again I wouldn’t give dickeys or spring creek a single star but this place is still miles apart from being in the echelon of Cattleack BBQ, Pecan Lodge, Franklin’s, Krietz, or Blacks — just to name some of the best in the entire country. Nonetheless, I dig the decorations, old school. Generous portions. Fatty brisket is juicy but lacks smoke. Same with the chicken. Overall, average bbq but better than the chain bbq restaurants. Service was short but friendly. I won’t be going back but that’s because I’m spoiled by the top tier bbq joints I mentioned earlier.

This is a good place if you are looking for bbq where the smoke is the flavor. I had the ribs which were very tender. The prices and good customer service will have you visit again. However, this isn’t my favorite style of bbq.

Ate here today… I might go back as it’s really close to my work but other than that I can’t imagine I’d go back here. It’s «Ok» for sure. Cons: No rub or pepper on the ribs or brisket of any kind. Meat on the ribs was totally falling off as if it had been stewed. Just totally overcooked. I asked the guy cutting the brisket if he could give me some of the moist or fatty brisket and he just gave me the dry«Flat» and couldn’t careless about my request or there’s a chance he didn’t speak english I suppose. The vegitalbles looked as plain as can be. The green beans looked like someone dumped a gallon can of those thick green beans in a pan and said, «Green beans are done».(sorry, I like some bacon and onion) And the beans both sweet and pintos had nothing speacial in them. It was just like hopital vegs. to tell you the truth. Pros: Nice and friendly people The sause tasted good I actually like the cafeteria style I loved the hot links Great Root Beer! Conclusion: This place is as middle of the road no frills BBQ as it comes. It’s fine if you are hungry.

Got treated to lunch here, and while this may not be anywhere near the best BBQ I’ve had it was still pretty damn good. The portions are generous, and the bbq sauce is spot on. The cafeteria style is a little off putting honestly, but it’s not as big a deal to me as long as the food is good.

Had their special of the day which was pulled pork. It didn’t blow my mind or anything but it was satisfying. Pretty generous portions of meat, fair prices, and good tasting. Can’t wait to try their other selections.

The best ribs I’ve had since moving to Texas. So tender the meat fell right off the bone & the BBQ sauce, made from scratch is awesome. Really nice owner too.

Stumbled on this place by total accident today. I was actually trying to go to Wing Stop, which my phone said was nearby. Turned out to be a corporate office and they wouldn’t make lunch for me. So I sauntered across the street to try some BBQ. Went in about 12:30 and there was no line at all. In fact, there were only about six people eating lunch at the time. I assume I caught them on a slow day. The man behind the counter was very friendly, happy to have a conversation and recognized some folks that came in after me. Nice to see that it’s a local kind of place. I ordered the chicken sandwich, a side of cheese potatoes and some peach cobbler to go. The sandwich was very good and I liked the BBQ sauce too. A little sweet, actually. I consider myself a peach cobbler snob, but I was disappointed in what I got. Oh well. Decent food, very friendly staff, pretty lonely atmosphere.

OK — you really have to pull up your blinders past the surroundings! But as soon as you walk through their doors everything else is forgotten. Came in on a Friday around 1pm — only one table was occupied and no LINE! The«take your order» young guy was very polite and so nice — that real olé Texas nice attitude that you do not find lately nowadays! Had the time to chit chat and joke a bit with me! Well, now comes the«ouch» part… the food was oooo-k…the beef was a bit dry for my taste and the sausage(asked for normal sausage) was a bit too spicy but the kicker was the steamed broccoli — it was EXCELLENT — just perfect! That is why they get the 3 stars. Clean place, great service and OK food but awesome broccoli!
