I had a great experience with this place a week ago. I was visiting my girlfriend in Richardson over the Memorial Day weekend and needed to return home Monday so I could be at work on Tuesday. Unfortunately, my engine started making a funny noise as I started to leave and I was worried about breaking down on the highway in the middle of nowhere, at night, in a major thunderstorm.
I stayed an extra night in Richardson, which I partly spent by researching mechanics in the area. Quality First Auto Service was close by and had good ratings, so I sent them an e-​mail in hopes that they’d be able to look at my car on Tuesday. I received an e-​mail reply early the next morning from the business, but unfortunately they would not be able to look at my car until Thursday. So I decided I would leave my car with them for the week and rent a car to get back home, then return on the weekend.
The business is tucked away amidst rows and rows of similar businesses, and I actually drove past them and had to turn around. There wasn’t much parking and the place didn’t look like much. However, once I started talking with Daniel, I felt immediately reassured. He was a good listener, knew his business well, took the time to explain things about the way my car model’s engine was built, and then drove me to the car rental place. He proved his customer service savvy again on Thursday when he called me to talk about what he had found, things he could fix/​replace, and things that could go another 6 months or a year. The car was ready the next day, I paid over the phone, and my girlfriend picked up the keys so that we could get the car on Saturday when I drove back up.
Anyway, I really had a great experience with them and I would definitely take my car back to them… you know… if my car ever needs servicing when I’m in Richardson.

Quality first Auto is a dependable and trustworthy shop for your mechanical needs. If they cannot do the work (which is unlikely) they will give a referral to a place they trust.

I had hoped to be the first to give a five star Unilocal review to this auto repair shop, but I see three others beat me to it.
About ten years ago, when they were Quality Carburetors, I found them when my truck’s carburetor need to be re-​built. They wisely changed the name to Quality First since they offer all types of automotive repair.
They are a small, family run shop that I trust to diagnose and repair my vehicles. You would not be impressed by the exterior or interior; this is the definition of «hole in the wall». From low tech to high tech, I have always been impressed with the level of personal service. Once they even loaned my wife their personal van for a day will hers was still being worked on. Each computer generated invoice is precise, detailed and easy to understand and pricing is always reasonable.
I have always done most of my own car repairs (break pads, thermostats, etc.) but as I grow older and engine compartments become smaller and more computer reliant, I am limited to the basic driveway oil and filter change. It is a given that you will have to spend hundreds and even thousand of dollars to maintain your vehicles through the years. The only consolation is if you can have trust and faith that the diagnosis and repairs are done honestly and correctly. The Beck’s family Quality Automotive Service have always served my needs well and I am in total agreement with the other 3 reviewers here on Unilocal.

There’s not much worse to the average human being than hearing a car noise or witnessing smoke bellow out of the cracks of your hood as you drive down the highway. Who do you trust to take a look at your car? Who does a good… no, great job? Who won’t trick you into buying services you don’t need? Those questions are difficult to answer unless you already know someone. Like, personally know them.
Quality First Auto Service is a business that earns the trust of its customers from the very first phone call. I happened to be lucky enough to blow a gasket in my paid-​for truck two weeks before my wedding (do you sense the sarcasm?), and the cost to take apart and rebuild the engine was more than I had been prepared to hear. But the guys at QFAS were amazingly accommodating, professional and TRUSTWORTHY. They went above and beyond what I could have asked for, and did an awesome job with the repair. I haven’t had one problem with my truck since. I now take mine and my wife’s vehicle there every time one of us need repairs, or even an oil change.
They’re a knowledgable group who can tell you what you need to know about your vehicle, how to prioritize your repairs and what needs to be done in the future to ensure you’re getting the most out of your investment.
Look, I’m writing a review about an AUTO SHOP. That’s how you know I’m serious. Take your car here. I just spent 15 minutes of my life sharing my experiences with you, so that you will know what auto shop is worthwhile. I think we all deserve great, quality service. You’ll thank me later.

Quality First Auto Service is the absolute best. As a female it is tough to find a mechanic that treats you honestly and gives you good advice. These guys excel in all categories. I have worked with them for almost 15 years and could not be more pleased. No car of mine ever goes to anyone but Quality First. They get an A+ in my book.

Quality First is «my mechanic» for all my cars. They get it done right the first time. They treat you like family, recommending things that make sense and steering you clear of unnecessary or inappropriate repairs. They handle all warranty repairs/​replacements, etc. for you saving a lot of headaches. They also know when there are better quality parts than what you can get from the dealer.
The pricing is always straightforward and fair. This is an ethical bunch of folks that have been working together for many years.
They are the go-​to people for dealers and other mechanics for some of the trickiest problems.
