This place does not even deserve One Star.
I’ve had the WORSE experience getting my hair color and cut here. ladies, do yourself favor and Stay Away! Unless you want Hot Roots, being overcharged and Horrible customer service!
IT WAS SO BAD. I almost cry.
My scalp is now peeling and still burning. My hair is looking like a hot mess. And she chopped off my hair wayyy shorter than what I asked
Needless to say. I am Never over coming back here.

What can I say, I now go there (as I have for years) — I take my two kids there. I try to book with Soput as I think she’s a total perfectionist when it comes to trimming my hair and making sure there are no cut lines or missed spots. Honestly, I’m not very good at regular trims so my trims sometimes turn into bush-​whacking sessions — but regardless of the arrival condition, I always leave with a great-​looking haircut.

Just finished my third cut. Ask for Soput! She’s wonderful. Extremely friendly, offers great advice, and will continuously interact with you. Takes her due diligence, is very patient, doesn’t rush anything.
Too bad I only found this place this year, about to graduate :(should’ve found this place earlier!
Give it a shot! It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it! (I’m super cheap, so I don’t say this lightly)

These guys do a great job on hair. Nita and Nikki both do an awesome job on both men and women’s hair. Soput (hope I spelled right) had come into get own as a stylist and she’s who cuts my hair always now. Fun, friendly place and quality haircuts! I only go here when I need a trim and have now for years.

Ask for Soput! She did a great job with my hair cut and I am very particular about how I want my hair cut. She was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Very happy with this salon. Never more than a couple minutes wait with an appointment and all staff is very friendly. Sopout does a great job and I’d recommend her for men’s haircuts. This salon serves a wide client base with all different types of hair. Clean, convenient, and friendly salon.

I’ve been going to this place for over 4 years and Nikki does a great job! She is very detail-​oriented, listens to your requests, has excellent recommendations and it makes me happy to see that she’s like this with everyone and not just me. This is also a great place to take your kids as well, I’ve seen a few come by. I highly recommend Nita’s Hair!

I’ve been searching for a stylist for sometime and came across good reviews for this salon. So i made an appointment to try it out. Once I’ve reached the front desk to check in, I was not greeted and given an attitude. Not sure if she was having a bad day? I had a bad experience from the last stylist that colored my hair, it was uneven and blotchy. I asked if she can fix it? Her response was ‘It’s gonna be alot of work’…i needed stripping… bleaching…conditioning.blah blah blah. My hair was not damaged nor untamable. It appeared to me that she wanted to charge for everything including just drying my hair, $$$$. I was extremely annoyed by her attitude and left, so I went to Angel salon in garland and surprising had no issues. Angel did a great job, my hair turned out beautiful! Too bad they lost my business. I do not recommend Nita Salon to anyone, unless you want to blow your money on bad service better off going to uptown. I hate leaving bad reviews, but after my experience i just had too. I really think that the ‘good’ reviews are from friends and family of the stylist.

After being cancelled on by another salon, I called Nita’s and they squeezed me in last minute. I was very thankful for that. Tina gave me a trim. I was disappointed that she wanted to charge me 10 $ to dry my hair, Not style just dry. I came in with dry hair and felt like that should have been included. I can’t really tell if the trim was even when it’s soaking wet. After expressing that I didn’t want to pay 10 $ for her to blow dry my hair, I had to sit and let it dry under a dryer while she cut someone else hair. Then she fixed up mine once it was dry. I think I think that really should have been included in the hair cut especially because she had to fix up her cut afterwards
I like my hair cut but will find a salon next time that works to make me happy and is a little more helpful

If you don’t have oriental asian hair, dont get a cut from Tina. She was fine with my Vietnamese friend and I liked that haircut. When it came to me, however, she did not do anything I asked. I asked her for slightly longer than shoulder length hair and v shape with layers. She told me no; I cant have short v shape hair. So i consented to shoulder length u shape hair. She just took barely an inch with u shape hair… So i asked her to shorten it. She changes her words and says i cant have shorter u shape hair either… She believes that curly haired people can’t have short hair period. She didn’t want to fix her mistake and spend more time so she sent me with almost straight across the back long hair…
I don’t need to pay $ 50 for not getting what I asked for and being told no to almost everything… I only wanted the hair length that Nita and Tina had themselves. Not sure why she couldn’t do that for me…

5 stars because I bring my screaming 2 year old for haircuts once a month and Nita just smiles and does her job fabulously with no complaints.
If that’s not awesome, I’m not sure what is. Well, maybe if she found a way for him not to cry during haircuts but hey, she’s a stylist not a magician.
Oh and because my husband comes religiously to get his haircut and his hair looks good. 5 stars for keeping my husband from looking unkempt.
Walk-​ins? Ok!

Not pricy and always quick– unless you’re in line for a cut after my 2 year old then I’m sorry for your wait but it’s not Nita’s fault.

Nita did an amazing job with my hair. She corrected the color and gave me highlights. By the time I walked out of there my hair looked fantastic!

The four stars prompted me to check this place out. I went to get my eyebrows and haircut. I noticed this place was very dirty and refused to lay on their waxing chair. Instead I asked to sit on a regular chair. Tina waxed two rectangles for my eyebrows. It was awful. She also cut my hair. She didn’t cut much of the sides so I asked her if she knew how to layer hair.
Looking at the reviews, it looks like Nita is the only person that does a good job. I should of asked for her. The only thing I liked was the smell of my hair when I walked out. I don’t think I will return nor will I refer anyone else here.

I booked an appointment here based on Unilocal’s recommendations, and although it has led me to some pretty awesome places, I can’t say this is one them. I’ve been to several beauty schools that have done a better job a much more competitive price.
First, I had my hair washed, and that was fine without any issue — just business as usual. However, when it came time for Tina to cut my hair, it just got really disappointing really fast. First, she didn’t clean up from the customer before me so the floor and the chair were still covered in someone else’s hair. I really should have said something, and I thought that maybe she’d take the hint and clean it up, but she didn’t. The haircut itself was pretty mediocre, but what I greatly disliked was the fact she repeatedly hit me in the face with my own hair while trimming it. Seriously, if you’ve never been whipped in the face with wet hair, trust me, it’s not awesome. I was underwhelmed by the styling and disappointed that Tina didn’t apply any product either prior to blow-​drying or flat-​ironing.
All in all, it was a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend this salon.

$ 21 is a touch expensive for an easy haircut but it did come with a hair wash.
I would like to have seen a wash before the haircut and then afterwards instead of getting a haircut with product in my hair.

I’m very picky when it comes to being happy and satisfied with my haircuts. I’ve always been horrified and selective when it comes to having cuts or trims. I have very long hair and usually just opt for a trim but with dental hygiene school being so stressful, I’ve decided to chop off my long locks. Nita was my hairdresser and I told her what I wanted. I absolutely LOVE my haircut. It’s even better than what I had pictured! I have to say that I actually didn’t cry this time and i love my haircut SO much! She’s very quick too! She’s fantastic. I’ve found my hairdresser! I’m beyond ecstatic! Thanks Nita’s Hair!

I had really high hopes for this place based on the reviews. I truly believe most of these high rated reviews are friends of the stylist or owner.
I got my hair done by Nikki. She definitely talks the talk, but can’t walk the walk. Harsh words I know, but this girl has a attitude problem. During the service she would snap at her sisters when they try to talk to her. It was my first time there, so I made the mistake assuming she would treat her customers with kindness. Her bad attitude towards me and her co workers made me feel really uncomfortable.
Nikki charged me to blow dry my hair after I paid for a color and trim Who does that? Do you expect your customers to walk out looking like a wet dog? She didn’t do a terrible job but for $ 150 for a simple trim and color you’d think you would have gotten a high quality treatment with high quality results. That price?! I can spend the same amount at a high end salon in uptown. This salon is located in a ghetto Richardson shopping center. She also bullied me into giving her a tip she did not deserve.
I wish someone else did my hair, all the other stylists seemed really nice. I will not be coming back here again nor will I be recommending your services.

Just being honest about my experience here. This is solely based on my one and only visit, and mostly attributed to the hair stylist that worked on my hair.
I just wanted a trim so i could let my hair grow out. This was clearly communicated to the hair stylist Tina before she washed my hair and got started with everything. When she was done washing my hair and before she started cutting, she also repeated that we were only doing a trim, keeping the same length and do some layering. My hair before was about shoulder length, a little heavy since it didn’t have layers.
Well, she went overboard with her layering and trimming. My hair looks alot shorter now and i can barely put it up in a pony tail (it’s more like a pig tail now). The right side of my head looks okay, however my left side got thinned out so much that the bottom flips out after I wash and blow dry. I’m more upset now than yesterday when i first saw the final result.
To make matters worse, Tina was REALLY rough with my hair. When she was combing my hair, the comb went right through my ears. At one point i had to tell her my ears were hurting. My right ear was red and hurting for a good hour after the haircut. She jerked my head around when she was blow drying it. She also did a sloppy job when it came to washing. Seriously, when you have a customer scrunching their face the whole time you’ve got to realize there’s something wrong.
After reading all these great reviews I thought i was safe with any stylist at the salon, boy was i wrong. I’m sure Nita and Nikka do wonderful jobs for their customers (i really wish one of them had cut my hair), but Tina just isn’t one of them. I feel really bad writing this review, but people need to be aware and choose their stylist carefully. I can’t wait for my hair to get longer (it’s going to take at least 4, 5 months) so i can get this messed up hair fixed.

I am new in the Richardson area, so I tried Unilocal searching decent hair salons nearby. Nita’s Hair had a perfect 5 star rating with 40 reviews. If that’s not reliable, I don’t know what is.
I just did a regular $ 35 haircut. I didn’t necessarily know what I wanted. I just wanted it cut short. Nita was very helpful in letting me decide in what I want done. She was very friendly and personable, including her sister who works with her.
My hair turned out really great. I believe that the cost of my basic haircut is LESS than the service provided. She shampooed/​conditioned, performed the cut, blow dried, and styled my hair with some fancy good-​smelling hair oil and hair straightener. Really? Where I used to go (Super Cuts), all I got was my hair sprayed with water, cut and blow dried. Nothing else. I used to go to Super Cuts mainly because it’s super cheap. Well, you do get what you pay for. I’ve been getting crappy quality haircuts for the past year. Why didn’t I ever invest in a good quality hair cuts?
After my visit here, I will be sure to become a regular. For you guys who never been here and are skeptical about trying a new hair salon, trust my review and everyone else’s on here. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve never gotten a haircut in the area before but I found myself in need of one right before taking engagement photos. It was a bad time to find a new barber since Asian hairs are kind of unique and I can’t really afford to get a «new style». After doing my research online and asked around for recommendations, I decided to put my trust in Nikki/Nita’s skills and reputation.
I called in a day before and made reservation with Nikki. I came the next day, told them I had a appointment with Nikki, and waited. A few minutes later, this lady came, sat me down, and said «Hi, my name is *something not Nikki or Nita*.» Really? Really? I have to take engagement photos and I really couldn’t afford to have a trainee practice on me. I came here out of all the other places mainly due to the raving reviews for Nikki and Nita! But I managed to suppress my concerns and just went along with it. In the end, I just slowly guided her on how to cut it, something I’ve never done before. It took over 30 min since I was being conservative but it didn’t look weird in the end. It was simply a trim.
I was frustrated with the situation but at least it didn’t turn out badly. I really wish I could have just gotten Nikki to cut my hair though.
