History

Established in 1977.

Natural Beginnings was founded as an educational information resource group, with consumerism at the heart of our business. We were founded at a time when options for childbirth, lactation and parenting were limited and choices difficult to discover.

Initially, we offered natural childbirth classes and then expanded to provide lactation consulting, doula services, doula training and breastpump rentals.

Our combined years of experience provide a unique service to expectant and new parents in the D/​FW Metroplex.

Meet the Business Owner

Linda W.

Business Owner

A graduate of Texas Christian University, Linda is a Charter member of DONA International, a DONA International approved Doula Trainer, a Certified Doula, an International Board CertifiedLactation Consultant, (IBCLC, RLC) and a Certified Childbirth Educator in the Bradley Method of Childbirth Education (AAHCC).

A prolific author, Linda writes for ICEA’s International Journal of Childbirth Education, and has authored several feature articles, including the well received «Fathering Without Feeding».

In her 32 years in the field of Maternal-​Child health, Linda co-​founded the first doula organization in Dallas County; as well as both Cesarean Awareness and VBAC of Dallas; served as a La Leche League Leader, La Leche League of Texas Area Council Administrator, LLL Dallas Chapter Leader and served on both DONA Board of Directors.

Linda and her late husband Richard, were married for 25 years and are the parents of four children; grandparents of their new grandson, Hayden.
