Mobil1 Lube Express

Just hopped off the highway because my car was over heating and rolled into this place. They spent a solid amount of time trying to truly diagnose the issue and concluded the best way to know what is really wrong is to give the coolant system a pressure test, something they themselves are not currently equipped to do. So, they referred me to where I can go nearby and spent extra time ensuring I knew what questions to ask when I got there. After all this, I asked what I owed them for their trouble and he declined any kind of payment. These guys are apparently under new management, according to one of the other mechanics. And while I cannot speak to how they were before, I can write with confidence that these guys definitely have the right mindset for business. That is, always take care of the customer and do it with a smile!

I went in to have my car inspected. There was another person ahead of me and there was only one person working. I brought a book along since I figured there would be a wait so near the near of the month. The waiting room was small but seemed clean with no odd smells like some car shops have. The end table didn’t only have car magazines but also Highlights for kids, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and some others.
When finished inspecting my car, no on tried to up sell me anything or say there was something wrong that wasn’t. My car passed, so I was happy.

«Robert» is hardly a Service representative. After failing my car for an inspection — already having charged me — I returned (with all the items fixed) before the close of business that day, and «Robert» refused to complete the service I’d already paid for. He then proceeded to refuse to refund as well.
I’ve filed with the Better Business Bureau, and I intend to not use this franchise *ever* again, unless they refund. And I will never use «Robert» again regardless.

It’s time for my yearly inspection and I’m back. These guys normally have everything squared away and take care of me.
This week was no different. I’m 3 months past on my inspection and I pull in. I tell them I need an ASM inspection (treadmill and sniffer) and they look at each other. I say, «Is the treadmill working?» None of them say it’s not, so that’s a good sign, however, it is on the fritz frequently, so it’s not that my question wasn’t valid. They boot up the machine and this time, however, my car fails the emissions portion. I had a guess it may not pass as I know the oxygen sensor is going out.
They do inform me that it’s not like it used to be where you only get one shot at a retest. Now they’ll test it first before running the official test. You still only have 15 days, however.
The guys that work here all seem friendly. There’s one guy that’s been there for the two-​three years that I’ve been going to get my car inspected. He’s friendly and he seems to be the senior mechanic around.
This place used to be an Oil Well and is now a Mobil 1 Car Care Express. It’s basically the same thing.
