Great bread, freshly-sliced meat, crisp produce, and great value served up quickly. I had the turkey and cheese #8 with lettuce, tomato, spicy mustard, parmesan, and oregano. The bread was nice and sturdy on the outside but soft and dense inside. If you were to give it a squeeze it would return to form instead of mush up. I felt like that was a good thing, even if my description is lacking.

This place is way better than subway. They have more sub and topping options here. They even have ice cream. Does subway have ice cream? No. They also have my favorite drink called sobe. I will be back for sure.

Why have I not tried this place sooner, it was delicious. My girlfriend and sons went for dinner and were presently surprised with a warm greeting and so many sandwich options. I had the turkey pastrami, everyone else had the turkey. Two on white, two on wheat with rye and croissant as options. Large menu with plenty of options for anyone’s pallet. Did I mention they have ice cream and will make sundaes, shakes, and root beer floats! When the sun comes back they have a nice patio area as well. Everyone was full and happy when we left, we shall return.

I am never going to Subway again. This place is amazing! They have so many choices of subs. I ordered a turkey and cheese on wheat with the works and added avocado and sprouts. The bread was super fresh and all of the flavors went together perfectly. They really have mastered the sub. In addition to subs they also have ice cream, shakes, and other desserts. The team who was working was beyond friendly and the sweet lady who helped us labeled our sandwiches with smiley faces. The regular size was more than enough for one person.

Service great. However, the bread is hard to chew and there are only 2 choices, white and wheat. I’m a fan of Great American Hero with their abundance of fresh breads & fresh sliced meats. Great Outdoors has a good selection of creamy ice creams such as cherry bomb, chocolate & cherries in vanilla ice cream. It’s not the best, but not the worst, it’s a clean, friendly sandwich shop.

If you use the drive thru expect a VERYVERY rude clerk. Can’t believe the way they speak to customers.

I was really excited to eat here because I’ve heard from multiple people how delicious it was, however, I had a different experience. After pondering the menu for a minute, I stepped forward to order and the woman taking my order kinda just grunted at me and asked what I wanted– no smile or any sort of friendly comments. I ordered the turkey and cheese add avocado. The next girl who dressed my sandwich(trinity) said nothing either, and then passed it along. I asked the guy ringing us up for a side of ranch and he said«Trinity(the girl who dressed my sandwich) will get that for you» so I slid back over to ask her and she quickly snapped at me «I heard him». Pretty rude if you ask me, not like getting a side of ranch is a huge request. Anyways, so we order shakes as well and then sit down. My sandwich was extremely bland, the avocado wasn’t ripe yet so it was tasteless. The ranch made it a little better but it was still average at best. The shakes tasted alright, but were pretty thin. Overall the food was nothing special at all, I don’t even know if I’ll eat the leftover half. The customer service was super lame, every employee in there aside from the guy who made our shakes had no absolutely personality and came off rude. We were easy customers with simple orders so I don’t understand why the employees acted like we were such a hassle. Employees– Don’t work there if you hate your job, your attitude really ruins the reputation I thought this place had. Super disappointed with my visit at this place, I had high expectations and unfortunately they were missed by a long, long shot.

As with all Great Outdoors, DELICIOUS. Service has always been prompt, sandwiches tasty and correct. I pretty much always go inside to order instead of going through the drive through. Will definitely be back for my #2 soon!

Yea I got cursed at by an employee right in front of the manager for the day over a misunderstanding that was between someone else and myself that he had nothing to do with it. The steak sandwich was a bit greasy more than normal in which I was surprised And this guy still works here? Mr Andrew maybe you will straighten that attitude up one day.

One of my favorite places for a unique sub experience. I usually get #21 The Invention… so tasty and not to be found elsewhere! Drive thru at this location is not super fast so I enjoy going inside. Patio seating is available as well. Wish there were more locations in DFW.

I never write reviews but this was so bad it needed one. The wait was over 20 mins in the drive thru before I ordered. I asked for my sub to be toasted and it was not and also there was some disgusting dark brown sandwich meat of some kind stuck to the bottom of my bread(I ordered turkey and that was definitely not turkey). The bread tasted as if it was a week old. I will not ever be going back. On a scale of 1 – 10 it was a –8.

This location is super busy but even still they have got their stuff together. Customer service and quality was on point. I love that they have outdoor seating for beautiful days like today! They also have a drive-thru and will do delivery orders(4.99 fee) which I haven’t seen at their other locations. Sub sandwiches, salads and some of the best milkshakes around! We will be coming back to this location very frequently.

The sandwiches here are really good. I usually order a double meat pastrami or reuben sandwich, chips and a pickle. I’ve been going to the Greenville and Campbell locations for many years and the quality of their bread, meats and vegetables is always fresh and tasty. It can be a little expensive but you get a very appetizing meal. I would definitely recommend The Great Outdoors as a locally owned business over the other chain sub shops in the area.

The subs here are great. Not much to say about them other than that. I would recommend the turkey pastrami with«the works». Could maybe use a few more vegetarian options. However there are 2 main problems 1) service could be better. I’ve never had any huge problems but they consistently sound unhappy when you roll through the drive thru. Again, not a big deal, but its surprising that such great sandwiches are produced by such unenthusiastic staff. 2) the smoothies are HORRIBLE. They cost about 4 dollars, however I would not pay 1 dollar for the nightmarish beverage they gave me that they called a «smoothie». This makes me afraid to try other non-sandwich items on the menu. If you’re going to have something on the menu, it should at least be decent. I also get the feeling that the place is not the cleanest. Maybe its the old signage. Maybe its the clutter visible from the customer area. Anyways, if you’re nearby and need to satisfy a sandwich craving I heartily recommend it. For anything else there’s probably better places.

This place isn’t that bad, but when you compare it to the several other sandwich places in this strip plaza it’s hard to compete. But I will still come here for a change of pace as they have lots of different options that most other places don’t have.

Highly over rated. Highly overpriced Highly unfriendly. I’d rather go across the street to 7 – 11 and grab one of their premade gawd knows what’s inside sandwich, big bag of chips, and refilled sodas. Gross.

I guess I’ve been living under a rock forever because how did I not know about this place!!! This place has officially become my number 1 sub shop! The only sandwhich I’ve had is the Outdoors man and I’m hooked! You have to get it on wheat with the works! The servings are huge! Its enough for 2 meals. I just might go back for lunch today!

This is officially my number 1 sub shop from here on out. There are soooo many options that it was truly hard to decide. I went out on a limb and tried the turkey pastrami with provolone cheese, which is sliced thin before you. The wheat bread was not as thick and soft as other shops, but still very tasty. It’s the bread that doesn’t overpower the sub experience and is well balanced. My toppings of onion, lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard and oregano were fresh and neatly stacked. Next time I’ll try the sprouts and avocado. Peanut butter cookie = chewy, buttery goodness. The peanut butter morsels melt in your mouth and I’m hooked. It’s the kind of cookie you feel so guilty eating and can’t stop! I want another!
