Very hole-in-the-wall type place. We went in at 8 on a Saturday and we were the only ones there. Speedy service and food was pretty good compared to others we have eaten at.

Two friends and I went to Chien Gardens yesterday. It is still awesome! We almost licked our plates. I was so full I couldn’t eat another meal that day. My friends were from Guatemala and they ate more than me. All I heard was: Esta bueno… Esta bueno. One loaded his rice with the pepper sauce and cried until he got it eaten. ITISHOT!

Excellent established eatery.. I travel much and I am a harsh food critic. They have excellent economically priced lunch menu. I had Szechuan chicken. The accompanying soup was tasty. The egg roll was very tasty. It even came with a fried chicken wing. All was very fresh. Excellent service throughout.

I’ve been coming here since I was about 8 years old and I still come here at 23 years old haha. Great atmosphere and delicious food at a reasonable price.

We’re forever grateful we found Chien Garden many years ago, just a mile from our last house and had the pleasure of eating there many dozens of times. Never had a bad meal there and have had many memorably good meals. Sadly, since we moved to Allen 5 years ago we haven’t been back. I just wanted to put down this longggg overdue 5* rating for this very fine Chinese Restaurant.

This is a very cute little Chinese restaurant. I went in to get a to go order after five during the week. It was almost empty so it was quiet. The Chinese music is nice and gives a peaceful feeling. A little lady walked me to the car with my order. I appreciated that. She was so sweet. To start, the won ton soup and steamed dumplings were FANTASTIC. The dumpling are just what you expect but BETTER. The dough was a little thicker and just more flavorful. I loved it! The won tons in the soup melt in your mouth. The soup has some extra noodles and fresh green onion and lil carrot in it. REALLYGOOD. The Mongolian beef and black mushroom chicken equally delicious. I am impressed by this little restaurant.

Love this place. Good food and excellent service. The wife and I usually order the same thing. I order Jjampong(seafood stew with noodles) and the wife orders Jajangmyeon(noodles with black bean sauce). I have tried different dishes over the years and have yet to be disappointed.

I was tricked by all the great reviews. Someone said it was the best Chinese Food in Richardson. Does that mean all the other Chinese food is terrible? Soggy noodles… Fried rice(not actually fried)… no flavor… crusty old chicken wing(really?!)… We took our left overs home and seasoned them ourselves. they were a little better. I would definitely recommend seasoning your order

This is one of the best restaurants in the city of Richardson. My family has enjoyed years of great experiences! Not only the fresh authentic food, but there is a great variety of tasty choices that are served with an attentive wait staff that we have come to know and speak with every visit we have had for almost 20 years! A+++

The reviews for this place has got to be a joke. I decided to eat here and try it out since It was relatively close to my gym and had pretty good reviews. I always give the hole in the wall places the benefit of the doubt but this place was disgusting. I’m sorry to be rude to the owners and chef but I got the peppered steak and it came with an eggroll, wonton, and also fried rice. The rice was just flavored with a little soy sauce, the eggroll tasted like straight cabbage, the wonton had no filling in it, and the steak was… Bland. They packed it full with onions, bamboo, and green bell peppers to make it seem like a full plate but that’s pretty much all that was there. My friend got the chow mein and it was all bean sprouts with a couple of noodles at the bottom. His plate looked so full that it looked like he didn’t even touch it. Service was horrible. The server was extremely rude and it seemed like he just wanted us to leave. Even taking our order seemed annoying to him. I will never return to this place I rather eat Panda Express… And I would say I’m a pretty picky eater too.

After reading other Unilocaled reviews, glad I took a chance and tried it out tonight. Ordered take out: general chicken tsao, beef & broccoli, and pork fried rice. All 3 dishes was yummy. The price paid for all 3 dishes was excellent, you definitely get your money’s worth! It was 4 – 5 servings, way cheaper than what I would’ve paid for at Panda Express. Pork fried rice has the right amount of seasoning of flavor. General chicken tsao was yummy! Sauce was light l, but on sweet side, crunchy, fried and had a light spicy kick to it. Beef and broccoli wasn’t bad. Their sauce and flavoring here is a bit different. More sauce and bit on the watery side. Service was excellent! Person who rang me up was very nice and polite. Next time, plan on going back to dine in.

We left this place very content! Let me start off by saying how polite the employees are. One employee saw me trying to pick up a little and refused to let me continue once she saw. I ordered the black bean noodles(jjajangmyung) not only did the come out with the next five minutes, she even cut them up for me and set my plate up for me. Very sweet detail on her part. The waiter kept up with us. Very nice people. Made you feel at home. Very quiet environment though. Now to the food. For starters, the kimchi is made from scratch. It was SO fresh and cold. Very delicious. i ordered the jjajangmyung, which BTW is the best ive ever had. And dare i say, i think its better than Hmart’s. OOPS. Their noodles are made from scratch!!! She explained their process. I was AMAZED. I’m a sucker for DIY if you haven’t already noticed. But anyway, my hubby order the happy family. Everything on his plate looked very fresh, from the water chestnuts, to the carrots, to the broccolli. The meats where tender aswell. We were very pleased with the portion sizes aswell. This place is great. They will deff see us again! We loved it!

Been coming here forever and always impressed with the generous portions and their service is great. Their lunch prices range from 6 – 8 dollars and comes with an entrée, eggroll, soup of choice, chicken wing and fried rice! Really good deal! Wish their spicy seafood soup(jjambbong) came with better noodles. The noodles are kind of a mix spaghetti noodles and ramen noodles mixed. I personally prefer the thicker noodles for my jjambbong.

We went for lunch one day. I had the sesame chicken. It was pretty good. Not soggy. Flavorful. They included one fried wing with each of our orders. I actually think they should not have given us that bonus wing. It sort of turned me off the experience, mostly because it was just a fried wing. Like a plain wing, fried. Nothing else. No sauce. No spices. It was a weird addition. The interior is old school Chinese décor. I loved it. I miss the Chinese lanterns of my favorite restaurants growing up. I will have to return and try more dishes before I can decide if I really like this place or not.

I was frequenting this restaurant a couple weeks in a row, and really enjoyed their Family style meals which included the Sizzling Rice Soup, Mongolian Beef, and Sweet & Sour Chicken. The lunch specials are very inexpensive, and the waiter is very attentive. That being said, my brother had a terrible takeout experience here. He was refunded his money, but the problem was not addressed professionally. I have not been back since.

Yup! This place knows how to do authentic Chinese-Korean food. Jja jang myun is superb, fried mandoo(dumplings) are excellent as well. Oh, the kimchee(American cabbage style — yum!). I’d go back just for that alone. In fact, I did. I drove thirty minutes out of our way for it. Jjam bong was solid. Family operated, friendly and attentive service. Well done!

Came here on a whim after other places in the area had steep prices. Got the sesame chicken, egg roll and egg drop soup for 5.95 for lunch. It’s solid Chinese and a great value for the price, and quick. Overall good, but not quite 5 star worthy.

Best chinese food so far I’ve had. I lived in Michigan and new york. I have tried different chinese restaurants, but this place you have to try. Food is very clean, and you don’t taste that large amount of MSG that you taste at other chinese restaurants. The taste is not too strong and just enough. We had Tangsuyuk. And it was awesome. Not too vinegary or sweet. And jjajangmyun was great too. It wasnt just sweet like other places. Jjambbong was awesome. Not too salty or too spicy. I would totally come back again. I finally found a perfect chinese place in dallas area. Must try!!!

Been here several times always ordering the orange chicken! The best so far that I can remember. The place in general is quiet however, so my group always feel uncomfortable at talking at a normal level. We have to bring it down to a whisper sometimes because its that awkward. I never really noticed it before, but my friend pointed out how strange the servers are. I guess I never really pay attention to what they did. Also for some reason, we always get seated at the same table in the back when we come. I don’t know if they recognize us or its just a coincidence.

I remembered how much a friend and I relished this place but decided to go by myself. What a lovely and well kept respite of Asian beauty and phenomenal service. I had the spicy chicken special. But instead of having it choose your complimentary sides they just give you ALL of them! SOUP with rice cracker, massive and very hot egg-roll, and this enormous chicken drumstick … I mean wing. It was the size of a drumstick! Everything was steaming hot and the handsome friendly waiter not only set up my phone for the free wi-fi, he made sure my water glass was never empty. This was all for less than six bucks! I will so be back!
