Cake Carousel is the largest retail cake, candy and cookie store in North Texas. We offer year round classes ranging from the basics of cake, candy decorating to the intricacies of crafting fondant figures, hand-​made sugar flowers, sculpted cakes and creating candy and cookie bouquets. We also have guest instructors from all over visit us throughout the year. We have a class to fit each aspiring sugar artist’s needs ans interests. Have a Birthday or corporate party coming up? Cake Carousel hosts private parties too!

Cake Carousel has a special order bakery for Weddings, Birthdays and more. All of our cakes are absolutely delicious, and tailored to your specifications. History

Established in 1976.

Cake Carousel has been in Dallas since 1976. Jeri Kopecky purchased Cake Carousel in 1998 and has expanded the level of classes, supplies and cakes that we offer to our customers. We are a family owned and operated. It is the largest cake, candy and cookie supply store in North Texas. Cake Carousel has a large list of classes offered.

A second location in Arlington Texas was recently opened.

I come here about twice a year and spend less than 5 bucks on pre made royal icing flowers that I attach to sugar cubes when I have tea parties, No one has ever been rude to me, or acted like I was a less than cherished customer? I’m not sure what happened to the other folks. I like the molds for chocolates and all kinds of cookie cutters as well as flavorings, food colors. even for sometimes baker!

Absolutely LOVE this place! They have given me so much inspiration and help over the years that it’s impossible not to keep coming back. I love the organization in the candy room with thousands of molds sorted by theme/​occasion. I have also acquired a collection of cookie cutters. I love there is a large assortment of cake boxes and foils for cake boards (I play around with the foil colors based on the cake décor). The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and will provide tips for what you’re buying, or point you in a different direction if something else may work better. I’ve taken multiple classes here, and every instructor is very hands-​on and an expert (LOVE Patsy & Kellie!). Some items can be found less expensive (often, not by much) at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s, but I always come here because I know they’ll have what I need, plus I believe in supporting small businesses, and this one is family-​owned and operated (I forgot the owner’s husband’s name, but he’s always a joy to run into).

Wowser! They have so many accessories that you could possibly need for cakes and cupcakes. I am not a professional cake maker but I know if I was starting up that I would come her for what I need. They have all kinds of molds, platters, cardboard, etc… I went here to find a heart platter but unfortunately they’ve been discontinued :(But the lady there was so helpful! She told me how I could just use a round platter and cut out cardboard in a heart shape.
The people are friendly and helpful. They can find you what you need or give you creative ideas to get what you want! They even have a frequent buyer punch card that will give you $ 5 once you fill up the card.
It’s right on the service road past Arapaho, there was plenty of parking out front.

What can I say about this store. If you bake or play with chocolate then this is a one stop shop with everything you may need. I love the selection I. Everything from pans to decorating materials to molds and supplies.
As for the classes they are wonderful but very expensive but they do look fun and the classroom is very big. (just a note– wish they had cheaper classes so regular people can attend. would sell more supplies)
Staff know their products and where it is and are very helpful.

I saw this store a few years ago when I worked in the area. Then I saw they were on groupon for a cake pop decorating class. …I HAD TO GO. So I did and it was the best decision I made that day. The instructor Kelli was super nice, I learned how to make and properly make and decorate a cake pop. I took them to my coworkers the next day and they LOVED them. And they have everything you can think of as far as making sweet treats. I love that place, I could go there every day.

I went into the new Arlington store, in not a baker or cake decorator by any means, but I needed some armature things and the both the gentlemen that helped were so awesome and nice. They helped me out even with my bossy 2 Yr old with me. Good selections and reasonably priced!

It’s my 2nd time in this store. Yesterday was the first! The staff is really nice and helpful. There’s also a kids area so the kids won’t get bored while you’re taking your time looking around the store. It’s a small store with mostly all your baking needs! (:

I took two classes here and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. The supplies for baking are are unbelievable! With the instructions from the class I can now make and decorate cookies and cake balls with the proper tools.

My boyfriend and I got a cookie decorating class groupon to try it out, forgot the exact price but whatever it was was totally worth it! Neither of us have had any real baking experiences but that didn’t matter at all, the teachers were very informative and helpful, we were also impressed with a camcorder set up zoomed in to what the instructor was doing so we could see it clearly from where ever we were in the room.
We were handed a few pages of baking recipes of how they prepared the sample cookies provided for us to decorate on, while explained in full by instructors in case there were any questions from students. Then proceeded on the decorating, showing us on their own cookies and explaining what was being used at the same time. There were so many things to go over and different techniques to pass on that the second half of the class seemed a little rushed in order to get us out on time.
We had about 15 people in the class ranging from a 13 year old to adults, my boyfriend being the only guy hehehe, anyway, everyone’s cookies turned out very nicely decorated I would say the class was a success for everyone! Def worth the try for motivation getting back into baking arts, learning new tricks and tips, or like us, a fun date night :)

I have driven past this place on 75 and Arapaho all my life but never knew what it was. It was not until the recommendation of a local bakery that lead me here for the first time, and believe me, they have everything bakery related. Everything from molds to decorations to ingredients they had, and in multiple varieties. We were looking for pastry boxes and they had all sorts of sizes in white and pink. They prices seemed reasonable for what we bought, but since I’m not a baker, I cannot comment on the prices for everything else.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
They open from 930 am to 530 pm Monday thru Saturday, and are closed on Sundays.

This is my second time to go. They have everything I need as an amateur baker. However. .they could use more in the customer service department. I felt like I always have to prove that I I know what I’m talking about in order to get a smile or to get advice.

I loved our wedding cakes from Cake Carousel. I’m sorry it’s taken so long to write this review. We had a JP wedding and a party at our home a week later. We had the most delicious bride’s cake I’ve ever tasted. I usually prefer the groom’s cake if that says anything. We went with the ever so slight amaretto (almond) for the bridal cake. I had my reservations before I sampled it, but it BLEW my tastebuds away! For the record, I’m not into fruit in my cakes, so that was my choice. I’m sure if you prefer that, it would be scrumptious.
We found this place because we live down the road and my mom saw it, went inside and made us a tasting appointment. I am so glad we did. It wasn’t pretentious and thus, I feel we didn’t pay a pretentious price for one of the best cakes of my life!

Terrible service!
I had really high hopes for this place, it was highly recommended to me by friends.
Went In there on a Saturday, lady at the counter was very rude. Did not look up to talk to me or hear me out (wish I got her name). I wanted to have a custom made cake with flowers and she said we don’t do that. She never stopped what she was doing, never looked up at me, and didn’t even look at the picture I had wanted it to look like. Even if you can’t do that, you could at least give me some options or pretend that you care!
Never coming back again!

Just went in to get some piping tips when I realized cakes amore in plano closed down. It’s in a business strip mall which has always deterred me to going in but glad I did! The staff was friendly and they have all the basic baking and candy making things you may need. The plus is they have a HUGE room full of candy molds!!! I didn’t know candy molds were such a hot todo. They also have a hilarious selection of cupcake/​cake toppers and picks. Just a lot of random nonsense which I will be back for!!!

I’ve been in a few times for cake decorating supplies. The last time I was in I was immediately surrounded by the yummy smell of a cake in the oven. However I had to re-​focus and continue on my mission to find meringue powder.
Although Cake Carousel isn’t the biggest store I’ve been in, it does take a while to navigate through the maze of pans, decorating tools, colors, and other items. I don’t particularly mind since I’m always looking for new useful stuff to use in my cake decorating. Well, I found the meringue powder — they had a 16oz giant tube of the stuff for $ 15 — which I thought was an awesome price.
Their staff is knowledgeable and polite plus I love the fact that they have a frequent buyer’s punch card

I watch a lot of cake decorating shows and am therefore an expert at decorating cakes, myself (not true).
Cake Carousel is there for me in my time of need. Need of sprinkles, that is. And fondant. And candy molds. Oh, glorious, glorious candy molds. I’m talking an entire 10×10 room covered in floor to ceiling candy molds. Its ridonkulous.
Anywho. I most recently ventured to Cake Carousel because of Oprah.
You see, my cousin was graduating college and saw some «sparkling «cupcakes on Oprah, and demanded they be present at her graduation party.
Easy enough, right? Make cupcakes, douse them in champagne and gonache, and add sparklers.
Finding sparklers in January– not so easy. Guess who had them! Not Michaels, WalMart, or Hobby Lobby. But Cake Carousel did :)
And they also have pans for every shape cake you want to make, candy melts in every color of the rainbow, candles for every theme, and thousands of other items you didn’t know you desperately needed until you walked in and saw them.
And they have a frequent buyer punch card. Phew. Awesome.

After several baking related disasters, I went on a search for better cake decorating supplies. Not wanting to drive to Euless, I turned to my fellow Unilocalers (you fabulous people you) who introduced me to this mecca of baking supplies.
Rows upon rows, shelves upon shelves of molds, candy melts and cookie cutters, it’s a cake decorator’s dream come true. I found exactly what I was looking for and then some. The women are very helpful and knowledgeable… I told Tammye the problem I had been having with my melts and she told me why I was having it and what to do to fix it!
They do offer classes for the hard-​core decorators… I think it may be awhile before I’m at that level. For now, I’ll stick with the cute shoe cookie cutter and little Longhorn molds that I didn’t know I needed until I saw them.
