History

Established in 2009.

Artisans Home Repair was created to fill a need for honest, affordable, quality workmanship and the technicians of Artisans Home Repair have worked in many fields of construction. Our technicians have experience in Framing, Electrical, Plumbing, Rough and Finish Carpentry, Tile and Granite, Windows and Doors, Exterior and Interior Finishes, and the office manager has been a manager of both large scale construction projects and national franchise handyman service providers.

We have seen both high quality work and less than acceptable quality work, also known as «industry standard». Our belief is that it is possible to provide a high quality, inexpensive, lasting product to consumers. That, combined with a high level of customer service and the experience of many years of success and learning is ultimately what will provide both our business and our customers with lasting success.

Jill has been a home owner, a teacher and now a business owner. She recognized the need for a company that provides artisan level craftsmanship that consumers have come to expect from a large scale general contractor but that fits into the scope of a small scale handyman type jobs and created a business that could provide both with the highest quality service to her customers.

Jill studied the business model of the franchise handyman services and realized that they are flawed in some areas. In particular, the ability to provide the customer with high quality workmanship at a reasonable cost. This was partly due to their extremely high advertising cost. Artisans Home Repair is modeled to keep the overhead costs down by foregoing typical advertising and focusing on «word of mouth» advertising through customer satisfaction, discounts for referrals and reviews on sites such as Yelp and Angie’s List which creates a Win-​Win situation for both business and customer alike.
