Arapaho Village Medical Assn

I have been going to Arapaho Medical Clinic since 2005ish. My experiences have all been fine, until the past couple of years. Now, after my most recent visit, I am searching for a new clinic. The doctors (I believe there are 4 doctors you can book a visit with) are friendly and knowledgeable, but the wait time before you actually get to see the doctor is out of control. I only get sick about three times a year, but the wait time is getting progressively worse each year. Yesterday, I had an afternoon appointment, and waited almost TWO HOURS to see my doctor. A two hour wait time with appointment is enough for me to take my insurance and copayment elsewhere. There were several other people in the waiting room who also looked annoyed, as if they had been stuck there for a long time as well. Many of the patients went to the front window to ask how much longer it would be. To make matters worse, as the afternoon wore on, the receptionist crew started gossiping about the doctors and how it was ridiculous that the doctors would let some of the employees off for obscure holidays and not let some employees off for the popular holidays. I also heard about the disagreements the office ladies were having with certain doctors, and other such private business. Very unprofessional. I am not sure what their issue is with booking appointments, whether it is overbooking or doctors coming in late or taking long breaks, but if you don’t have a large chunk of time to spend in the doctor’s office, I would look elsewhere.

Dr. Bonnet has been my Dr. for over 20 years. He has ALWAYS been right in his diagnosis of my various issues.
I am soooo thankful he is my Dr. and have NO idea what I am going to do when he retires.

Have you ever heard of a doctor’s office that can always schedule you an appointment on the very day you call? Have you heard of a doctor’s office that is open on Saturdays? This magical place exists, and my family has been going there as long as I can remember. Dr. Bonnet is my doctor, but I’ve seen most of the others at some point or another, and they are all excellent.
My favorite thing about Dr. Bonnet is that he is not full of crap or telling patients only what they want to hear. For example, I always hear people say that they have a cold and need some antibiotics. People, you do not need antibiotics unless you have a bacterial infection; colds are viruses! You and your excessive antibiotics are going to make crazy godzilla bacteria that will take over the world! If you do not have an infection, Dr. Bonnet will not give you antibiotics. He will simply tell you that you have a virus, that your life is going to suck for a few weeks, and give you some recommendations to alleviate your symptoms. That I can respect enough to drive all the way up to Richardson.
