Established in 1990.

Dr. Gary Freestone opened the doors to Freestone Optometry in 1990 to provide quality eye care to the whole family in the local community and surrounding regions.

Gary and Jason F.

Business Owner

Dr. Gary Freestone has been in the Inland Empire for over 30 years and is a graduate of Fontana High School. He completed his schooling in 1988 at Southern California College of Optometry at Fullerton. Dr. Freestone is a past president of the Inland Empire Optometric Society and is a member of both the American and California Optometric Societies.

Dr. Jason Flores has been in the Inland Empire for 10 years and graduated from Damien High School. He completed his schooling in 2004 at Indiana University School of Optometry at Bloomington. Dr. Flores is a past president of the Inland Empire Optometric Society and is a member of both the American and California Optometric Societies.

This is a really nice optometry office, and the staff is friendly as well. The wait times can be a little longer than one would like but over all they’re thorough. The optician was really professional and explained things every step of the way. My only complaint would be that there’s no food or drink allowed in the office. I understand that to a certain extent, my drink had a lid. At 9am I NEED my Starbucks lol so I stood in the hallway and finished my coffee while I waited to be seen

I have been coming to Dr. Freestone for more than 11 years now and since they moved locations it just seems like the wait is always sooo long! I got seen 30 mins. After check in and had me waiting for almost another 30 min. in the room. I like this place, but my wait after I check in shouldn’t be more than 10 mins!

Brought my daughter in to get glasses after having an exam elsewhere. After 3 weeks I had to call twice on two different days to check if her glasses were ready. The first day I called, they took my information and said they would call me back… never did. The second day I called, I was put on hold multiple times, told they were not ready and after being put on hold one more time, told that they actually were ready. Went in to pick up and had to wait about one hour just to pick up the glasses. It is a nice office, but they just seem very disorganized. I was so disappointed that I cancelled my family’s upcoming appointments.

Had an emergency with my daughter (broke her glasses) and had no spare set. Dr Freestone and his staff went out of there way to come up with options and a solution for getting her a temp pair to wear. Very impressed with the service

I’ve been using Freestone Optometrical for about 4 years now & I’ve never had any issues. They take a wide range of insurances, however their products are better quality, which mean higher prices. But that is usually the price you pay if you want good quality glasses. They have a wide range of different brands and the staff is always so helpful and ready to accommodate anyone. Whether you see Dr. Freestone or Dr. Flores you will always have a great experience and you always feel like they know you. I highly recommend!

Found Dr. Freestone on Unilocal.This place seemed to have a high star rating which led me to choose this out of the countless optometries in the I.E. Upon arriving, we (my daughter and I) were greeted very friendly by the receptionist who helped me fill out the first time visitors forms. I did not wait long before being called back. Dr. Freestone came in and I must say he was very passionate about his job. Hell he owns the place so he should be right? I’ve been to other places who are zombie like with their service to their exams. Dr. Freestone actually took the time to explain things. Things I’ve never heard another optometrist explain before. He not only verbally explained he used the models inside the room to do a visual explanation as well. I’ve been back once more to pick up contact lenses and the service was the same. Absolutely amazing! 5 stars. Please if you are looking for a family friendly Optometrist center then this is the place.

I used to frequent the optometry offices inside Wal Mart stores, but the quality of service and attention is much higher at Freestone. I haven’t gone anywhere but here for the past couple of years.

We started going to them about 12 years ago, when they were at there old location. Since there move Every appointment that we have there so busy and need to wait about an hour with limited seating. Our last experience for my sons glasses was horrible, it took him 3 months to receive his glasses. There was no communication from them on when he was going to receive them. This place is to busy for an eye doctor and feels more like a busy E. R waiting room.

Dr. Freestone literally saved my life! I went to him earlier this month for a yearly scheduled appointment. I had been having problems with my vision and just assumed I needed new glasses. When I couldn’t read parts of every line on the charts he dilated my eyes and took «pictures» of the interior of my eyes. My left eye had blood vessels that had burst and were causing grey areas I couldn’t see around! He then took my blood pressure and it was over the top! Way over. He himself ran downstairs to try to get me into my medical doctor but they were at lunch. He told me to call them as soon as I they get back and tell them he said they need to see me today. When I called my doctors office they told me to go directly to emergency. While I was in the emergency room, Dr. Freestone’s office called to make sure I got there safely. Fortunately they were able to treat me with blood pressure medications. Dr. Freestone has had his office call twice since to make sure i’m ok. Not many doctors today, go that extra distance to show they really do care about your well being! He’s a great optometrist and I highly recommend him!

My family has been coming to Dr. Freestone for almost 20 years now and will never go anywhere else. He always goes out of his way to ensure his patients are happy. He also always remembers the things I said during previous visits and is great at personalizing each visit. It feels great to receive personalized service especially when he sees so many patients each day.
I’d recommend Dr. Freestone’s office to anyone looking for excellent service and a highly educated eye doctor.

Wait is ridiculously lonnnnng, apt time is ok, but to call you back is like «what time did I sign in» and what time can I leeeeeave! doct is really nice and so is staff I will be coming here again!

Gary has been my Optometrist since 1998. He’s been the only OD I’ve visited and I wouldn’t go elsewhere. I now live in Palm Springs and make the yearly drive for my exams. I recently started bring my twin boys to him for their yearly visits. He always takes plenty of time to examine you and ask how things have been going. No matter how busy the office is, he always makes you feel as though you are the only patient in the office.
