Meet the Business Owner

Mike M.

Business Owner

Mr. Windows was founded by Mike McLaughlin in 1998 in the Northern Virginia area.

While attending summer school classes on a quite and empty campus at the American University School of Criminal Justice in Washington DC. McLaughlin often ate lunch in a campus park. One day while eating lunch he watched with fascination as window cleaners repelled from the building tops to clean windows of the buildings. Next day the chief window cleaner sat on a bench next to McLaughlin to eat his lunch and the two became unlikely lunch mates for the next three weeks until both men’s jobs were done. They went their separate ways but McLaughlin never forgot how happy and enthusiastic the window cleaner was in his profession.

McLaughlin went on to pursue a career in Industrial Security at a fortune 500 company but caught the Entrepreneurial spirit and departed corporate America to found Mr. Windows LLC in 1998.
