Business Owner

Clifford D. Hyra is the founder and managing member of Hyra IP, PLC and the author of the intellectual property law blog Patents 101.

Clifford is a registered patent attorney with extensive experience in the field of intellectual property. He has a background in aerospace engineering and graduated magna cum laude from the George Mason University School of Law. Clifford spent several years managing a heavy patent and trademark docket at a boutique IP firm in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, before founding Hyra IP, PLC.

Clifford specializes in patent and trademark prosecution and has prosecuted hundreds of patent and trademark applications. His experience also includes trademark oppositions and cancellations, patent and trademark searches and opinions, patent and trademark appeals, and international IP protection. Clifford’s clients include many small businesses in the local Northern Virginia area as well as businesses large and small all across the country and overseas.
