Hyatt Regency Reston

Nothing but great things from my stay here!!! I love how close it is from Bow Tie theaters. We literally used our car once, and only because we wanted to check out Tyson’s Corner close by, but didn’t necessarily have to make that visit because everything, including shopping and holiday activities were literally right outside the door of the hotel. The hotel staff is phenomenal!!! Very professional, efficient, and pleasant to communicate with. We haven’t done a holiday vacation in a while and this experience makes us want to put it back into our tradition!!! Thanks for making our stay worth it!!!

I live in Reston and I like to go to the hotel-​bar at the Hyatt, to meet there with friends and have some drinks. its not so loud, prices are like in other bars, drinks good and the stuff nice.
But yesterday we had a really bad experience. We arrived there and where waiting for the barkeeper/​waiter to come to us and take our order. But he did not come over, he was leaning behind the bar, doing nothing (never happened in the past).
So we had to order at the bar, because the barkeeper Mr. Serkan just ignored us, he did not come to us. After the first drink I asked him, if they have strawberry Daiquiri´s. First he asked me, if this is «one of this frozen drinks». I said yes. His answer was sorry, our blender is broken.
Oh, and before I forget, the bathrooms were in really bad condition. I dont know, when they have been cleaned the last time…
I dont know whats going on in this hotel, but I guess I have to look for a different place to meet with friends.

I’m here for a daytime conference, thus this review is for their conference center.
I’m am thoroughly impressed by the food they have prepared for us — everything tasted good. The breakfast and lunch were both good, but the cream of the crop was the hors d’ouvres.
The servers and staff were extremely professional and kept all the drink stations stocked and kept the conference space very clean so the event could go off without any issues.

I would have given 5 if they were honest. Amenity wise it’s very nice with pool and gym. What I didn’t like was when I asked to extend my stay they said only suite is available but through travel agency I was able to get same room but with premium rate. It seems they only don’t know which room is available.

Attractive hotel, nice staff. No access to tv… you can’t watch news or anything. Everything else was good…

Came here for M and D’s wedding.
Everything was perfect! It was easy to find parking in their lot right beside the hotel. They validated our tickets. Employees were all super friendly and attentive. The space where the wedding took place was beautiful. Lots of attention to detail. The food was super delicious. Talk about quality ingredients and generous serving sizes. Bartenders were wonderful. The employees serving the bridal party were super attentive and personable.
Prior to the wedding, we all got ready in the bridal suite and the room was super spacious and neat. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to be in the area. The Hyatt was organized and on point.
Overall, it was a beautiful and joyous day.

Great Hotel!
I was here for 4 nights for a conference. Its location is pretty nice right in Reston Town Center, lots of shops and restaurants.
The room was nice, big and most importantly very clean. We stayed in the 6^th floor facing the town center. The front desk is very helpful, someone is always around to answer any of my questions.
They have great amenities, the pool was nice but only 3 ½ feet deep, big hot tub I actually used, also had a pool attendant. The exercise room was probably the best I’ve seen in a hotel with cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, amongst other stuff you might need in your workout. I believe they have trainers as well. Also has an attendant. They have a great computer room with printers. Big lobby, restaurants and bar right in the hotel.
Only complain was its not that close to DC. I choose this conference /​hotel because I really wanted to see DC. About 40 minutes drive to DC. The train station is about a mile and half from the hotel, 10 min bus (1.75) ride that you can catch across the hotel. The hotel doesn’t have a regular shuttle going to the station you need to make a reservation. And does not pick you up from station. The train is about 45 –minutes to an hour to Washington DC’s main attraction. But if you’re only planning to be in the Reston area this hotel location is great! They offer regular shuttle to and from the Dulles airport which is about 20 minutes away every 45 minutes.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Always a friendly, welcoming hotel! I’m greeted when I walk in and the staff is always on point.

Wow. I haven’t been to a hotel in a long time that lacked professionalism as much as this Hyatt did. Some things are so frustrating I can’t spend the energy to write about. Let’s start with the first night and the mess room service was. Got in from my flight late, all I wanted was a side of bok choy and glass of wine. Ordered it and 20 minutes later they call back and tell me they’re out of bok choy. Ok, how about the beet caprese? Nope, that’s not on the menu, you must have an old menu. Ok, how do I get a new menu? Call the front desk. Ok, by the time I call the front desk, get an updated menu, order, and have it delivered it’ll be at least an hour and I’ll be asleep by then. To make up for this, you would think they would offer to send the glass of wine on the house. They didn’t so I asked. Hold on, Sarah gets on the phone, I guess she’s the room service manager, she declines my suggestion for the glass of wine. So I call the front desk and explain what happened and they agree on the glass of wine to please their customer and make up for their screw up. Sarah comes up with the glass, dressed like a teen in middle school, and starts to give me an explanation on why they had the old menus in the room… don’t want to hear it. Just apologize.
Night two. Even worse. I get back to my room after a long day of training since I was there for business. Start packing and a man knocks on my door with a toothbrush. You order a toothbrush? Nope. Figure ok dude had the wrong room… simple mistake.
11:30pm rolls around while I’m sleeping and I hear a bang on the door. Not a knock, a bang. I’m thinking this must be an intoxicated someone with the wrong room. I reeeally don’t want to get up from bed so I lay there thinking he’ll figure out it’s the wrong room. BANG BANG BANG 5 more times for 5 minutes. Fly out of bed, open the door and it’s someone from the hotel with a stack of towels. You order towels? NO! …Call the front desk, ask them how they’re getting the room wrong, and how they keep track of who orders these things and confirm it’s the right guest. Well, a man walked by the front desk and asked for towels for room # _​_​_​. Ok, that’s obviously not me so please make sure you don’t send anyone else up to my room, I’m not ordering these things. «What would you like me to do for you ma’am, you’re already getting breakfast for free? «says Ryan, the manager on duty. He really didn’t have to say that like he thought I was a spoiled brat and the company I’m with treating us to breakfast has nothing to do with the current situation. 5 minutes later a third man knocks. You order a power strip? Holy cow, I lost it. This hotel seriously needs to get organized. I call down again and Xavier is the manager on duty now. Maybe Ryan didn’t want to deal with anything since it was the end of his shift. Xavier promised to figure something out to make up for their many mistakes and I never heard from him.
George, the shuttle driver, is the only good thing about this place, he was a delight to ride with.

The hotel itself is great. Nice comfortable rooms. However your staff (housekeeping) especially need to learn to speak english. House keeping came while I was in the room and They told me «No speak english» they said that in english, I told them I don’t speak spanish which they seemed to understand but continued to talk to me in spanish. I told them I needed towels but not sure if I got any or what. If you are going to hire people here in America they need to speak english. If i went to their homeland I would learn spanish but I shouldn’t have to learn a foreign language in a country where English is already the home language. Please hire more staff that speak english or hold a class before they start the job. Staff not speaking the same language makes for a uncomfortable stay and doesn’t look good on the hotel.

I’ve stayed here multiple times on business, and these folks are some of the best in the industry. The people are always very accommodating. I always get a nice warm greeting when I arrive, and the staff are willing to serve.
The rooms have a nice modern look, and I’ve always opened the door to a clean room. The gym is fairly decent, but I have yet to check out the pool. The beds are nice and soft, but the pillow selection is limit to extra squishy or stiff. Not a huge problem, and there is no shortage of pillows. If you like having extras around, this place has it! Desk and lounge chair are a nice touch, cabinets are great as well. My only beef is that the cable is incredibly slow to change channels, and I know that’s petty to say. However, if I’m paying for a very nice hotel, the technology should be up to par. The wifi is decent, and I think the speed largely depends on how full the hotel rooms are.
Overall, you have great restaurants attached to the hotel, and a well-​stocked convenient store. In the heart of Reston Town Center, I’d say this place is a great choice. You’ll have an excellent stay, great staff, and a very pleasant experience.

Overall a nice hotel. The gym is really great and the room was decent. The one star reflects the poor choice by some person (hopefully it isn’t karma) to put me a few doors down from the hospitality suite for a bridge tournament. As I lay awake listening to people cackle and cheer in the hall, I wonder what I did to deserve this. This is night four of this disaster and since they’re booked, I’m stuck. Plus the front desk didn’t care about my dissatisfaction.
If you’re coming for work, don’t stay here unless you’re looking to learn some bridge tricks. I don’t know which genius thought it was smart to put people who aren’t in the tournament in the same hall as these party animals. Besides that, I can also hear through my quiet neighbors thin walls. Hyatt=thumbs down.

Stayed for the night as a getaway we’ve stayed before. All was good until at 8am a rock band started to play outside our room. Why hotel management would allow this is beyond me. We did not want to wake up at 8am as this is why we drive 4 miles down the road to stay at a $ 200 night hotel. Our kids wake us up at 8am so WTF!!!

We have stayed here numerous times and really enjoy this hotel. The first time we stayed in one of the pent house suites with a wedding party so you really can’t have any complaints, except the staff did come and ask us to turn the music down, it was around 2pm… they knew we were the wedding party getting ready for a wedding so that was just poor customer service.
Stayed again for one night this past weekend. The room was nice, 634, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was ok, a little dated. We had everything we needed.
The best thing about this hotel is the location, we went to a rehearsal dinner on Friday night in the town center and it was so nice to be able to enjoy several bars then just walk back to the hotel. Love having the Panera on the main floor too. There is so much to do in the town center, there are a dozen restaurants, lots of great shopping and during the summer they have musical events on the weekends.
If we return to the area for an event we would definitely stay here again.
They offer a free shuttle to/​from the airport which is awesome. Valet parking but if you drive just a mere two blocks you can park your car somewhere for free, overnight too, in one of the 4 – 5 large parking garages.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for my friend’s wedding two weeks ago. I read the reviews with some trepidation, but figured we could expect a nice experience as this is a Hyatt. For the most part, the hotel is nice, modern, and a comfortable place to stay. However, issues with housekeeping soured the experience for me.
Positives:
–Location, location, location! The Hyatt is extremely well-​located in the middle of Reston Town Center. This is truly the center of it all, so it’s next to impossible to not find a great restaurant, entertainment, or shopping within steps of the hotel. It’s especially nice to wander around the town center, as there are several parks and weekend festivals during the warmer months.
–The front desk staff and bellmen were courteous and very professional. They tried to accommodate my request for a higher floor and corner room as best as possible, and were always very pleasant to deal with. There was a minor mix-​up when I never received our wedding favor in the room, and the front desk was quick to respond and couldn’t do enough to resolve the issue. Very efficient!
–Free airport shuttle to Dulles, and free shuttle to the Reston metro station (but no pickups from there — ???)
–Rooms are recently renovated, with fresh bedding and modern furniture. Lots of outlets for charging all your electronics, as well.
–Nice toiletries, and complimentary lemonade and water in the lobby during the afternoon
–Panera is conveniently located off the lobby, in addition to a restaurant and several shops
Negatives:
–No shuttle pickup from the Reston metro station — not a dealbreaker, but it would have been nice to be picked up from the metro rather than having to find public transportation.
–For a nice hotel, the walls are surprisingly thin. I went to bed early on our first night here, and I could hear the people in the next room talking, and they weren’t even being that loud.
–No late check-​out. Knowing we had a late flight on our final day, I called to ask for late check-​out on day 1 and they were simply not having it. No exceptions. The staff was really unhelpful and rude about it as well.
–Housekeeping was atrocious! We stayed for two nights, and the housekeeping staff didn’t even come to our room to clean until 4pm. To add insult to injury, they did a poor job cleaning the room and didn’t even replace the toiletries we needed. One shouldn’t have to call and ask for shampoo — if it’s missing, it should be replaced, period.
–On our final morning, housekeeping was banging on the door at 9am, despite the do not disturb sign on the door and check-​out time of 12pm. We told them to come back later, and the attendant looked visibly annoyed. Just unprofessional.
Honestly, there’s a lot of positives about this hotel, but some points in the service side of things were pretty lacking. Normally, I’d give the experience a solid 3 stars, but for the poor way housekeeping is handled here, I’m docking it a star. Just not acceptable.

We had a great staycation here! We took advantage of all of the amenities the hotel had to offer. The service was excellent and the food was delicious from room service. The bar staff was very on top of our orders and he even created drinks for our taste! We truly enjoyed ourselves and it was the perfect place to relax after a very stressful day!

A serious lack of amenities for a hotel in this price range. Free airport shuttle … that stops running at 10p. They offered to call me a cab though! Gee, thanks.
No continental breakfast, no decent coffee options and nothing by way of food in the hotel except for Panera (really?) and Tavern 64, which is overpriced and mediocre at best. Not even a vending machine! My minibar was stocked with one (1) 8 oz bottle of water for $ 3.
Conveniently located, but if you are in town for business, stay somewhere else.

This place is great — even though I live in the area now, I stayed here a couple of times on business. The rooms are clean and provide a great view of Reston town center and the surrounding area. Rooms are clean, spacious, and the décor is up to date. There are also several conference rooms on the ground level that are often used for various conventions, etc.
As mentioned, this hotel is in the Reston town center, so there is a plethora of restaurants, bars, and other activities within a 5 minute walk.
During Christmas they have ginger bread and model train displays in the spacious lobby. There is also a full bar in the lobby.

Newly renovated rooms were a delight to find. We stay here often as we have family in the DC/​Great Falls area. Free Wi-​Fi a wonderful breakfast in the morning and lots of wonderful shops to meander and window shop during your stay. The staff is always very friendly and extremely helpful and don’t forget how close you are to Dulles.
