JT is absolutely amazing! I’m constantly getting complimented on my hair after getting it done by her. Yesterday was my bridal shower and I asked JT for the calypso glam (it was my first time doing it; I usually do flow). I was nervous because usually in the past when i asked for nice soft waves, I end up getting spiral curls that make me look like I’m 5. But JT assured me she knew what she was doing and she was right! I loved it! She made me look and feel amazing on such a special day of mine.

I agree with the other reviewer that said they had mixed results. I had my eyebrows done and a blowout. I wanted to like this place so much. I was so excited for my appointment.
My eye brows turned out great. No issues there. She even gave me a nice little forehead massage.
My blowout not so great. She washed my hair well? I do not care for the way my hair looks at all. I don’t want to knock the stylists skill, I’m sure she’s done great on others. She clearly knew what she was doing. She just didn’t do a very good job on my hair. When asked if I liked my hair, I said «No, not really» and she replied with «Well I like it.» and then walked up to the front desk. I was actually embarrassed to walk out in public after getting my hair done.
So, overall, I wouldn’t recommend blowouts here but I would recommend eyebrow threading.

Hidden gem. Found this place and love the concept. JT did an amazing job! She knows what she’s doing. I was in and out within 40 minutes, including wash. I will definitely be coming back. Reasonable prices and great work. Well done.

The 5 stars belong to Esma! She is the reason why I come back. She does a phenomenal job threading my eyebrows. She always greets me with a smile and takes her time to get them perfect. She’s the best!

Have had mixed results with blowouts here but generally they are good. Was not thrilled with that I had to wait for an eyebrow appointment that followed my blowout, and eventually had to leave because I was running late for my next appointment. The receptionist was mildly apologetic but didn’t seem concerned at all that I had made an appointment for both services and a walk-​in had taken my spot (while I was finishing my blowout, which ended five minutes before the eyebrow appt time), thus pushing me back by 15 minutes or more (who knows how long it could have been). What’s the point of making an appointment if you have no regard for them?
Too bad because Esma really does an awesome job on eyebrows.

Went for the very first time last week while on a business trip. My ONLY somewhat negative is that its hard to find for first timers — even with GPS — seems like it should be in the shopping area versus near the bank. However what a wonderful experience — Nia did an amazing job on the blow out to where I thought I was with my regular stylist. Would HIGHLY recommend this blow dry bar for hair — would have liked to try makeup/​brows too but didn’t have time! I will definitely be back next time I am in the area

I just left Flow for my first blow dry after moving to VA from NYC. I was nervous about finding a new stylist for my blowouts as I have thick hair and get it done every two weeks. Shugofa took away my worries, she was great! I bought one of their blowout packages, such a great deal and I can’t wait to go back. Very happy with the service, the efficiency, and the friendliness at this salon! UPDATE: Jontyce is equally as wonderful as Shugofa! :)

I needed my hair and make-​up done for my engagement photos so I found FLOW Blow Dry & Beauty Bar on Unilocal.Great reviews and perfect location as I live just a few miles away.
I called them on ¹⁰⁄₁₇ to schedule an appointment for ¹⁰⁄₁₉. They were able to pencil me in for a morning appointment to have both my hair and make-​up done. On ¹⁰⁄₁₈ they called me back to confirm my hair appointment. At this time I asked them about my make-​up and I was told that they won’t be doing any make-​up on Monday (¹⁰⁄₁₉). My heart sunk! There was no way I could do my own makeup for these photos and I had no idea where to go. I told them about my engagement session and asked for recommendations as to where to go. The woman on the phone told me she would figure something out for me and she would give me a call back. An hour or so later I got a call from one of their employees and she told me she would be happy to come in on her off day to take care of everything. Phew! My day was saved: D
On ¹⁰⁄₁₉ I came in when they first opened. The receptionist kindly offered me water while I waited for the stylist. When the stylist was ready she took me over and helped me decide on a hair style as I was unsure what I wanted to have done. Throughout the styling she was very kind and sociable. My hair turned out fabulous!!! I was SO happy!
A different woman, the one I spoke to the previous day, came in to do my make-​up. She was also very sweet, helped me choose my look, and made sure it was 100% perfect. I developed a small rash on my neck, not uncommon for me, so she applied witch hazel on it so that the redness would go down before my photos later on. I was so impressed with her work, I looked great!
The best part was coming home to show my fiancé. He loved everything and couldn’t stop looking at me all day :) I highly recommend FLOW Blow Dry & Beauty Bar and will be sure to come back the next time I need to be glammed!

I love this place! I don’t expect miracles, this is a blow-​out bar! I come here for quick blowouts and fast makeup applications that have made me look fantastic each and every time. Every time I’ve called to book, it’s been last minute, and they have always accommodated me. I go here whenever I need to look put-​together FAST. Shugofa has been my stylist and my makeup artist a couple times now and she is amazing. I can’t say enough about her. I got the package deal, which is great… I can come in and walk out an hour later with confidence. I don’t understand other comments regarding a long wait time. An hour to me is nothing for a full shampoo and blow-​out. I’ve never had to wait terribly long. Maybe 10 minutes. Big deal. Other salons are so booked with coloring and treatments that it normally takes me forever when I just want a blow-​out. It’s never been an issue here.
It’s bright, sunny, and colorful in there; and they offer me wine and water. What more could you ask for?

Flow, and specifically Esma, has been my go-​to place for eyebrow threading recently. Esma is so meticulous with her work that my eyebrows always come out looking amazing. It can be hard to get an appointment, but it’s worth the wait. Esma is the best!
The only reason I don’t give Flow a 5-​star rating is because their timing can be spotty sometimes. I now try to schedule appointments a little earlier than I actually need to get started, since they’re usually running a little late. Maybe they’re understaffed?
Also I got a blowout for the first time today and it was nothing special (actually pretty flat for something described as «straight with body»). I think I’ll stick to the threading, which I love here.

I was greeted by a girl at the desk when I walked in, and offered a drink while I was waiting. The environment was nice and the place is super clean.
I never let people touch my eyebrows so I was very nervous, but Esma did a great job. My eyebrows look amazing and I cannot stop looking at them!
I highly recommend Esma to handle your brows; she is the eyebrow goddess! It might take a couple of tries before you can find an appointment with her, but if you’re as good as she is then I can only imagine everyone trying to get an appointment with her.

Jasmine B. Saved my wedding! I live in San Francisco but recently got married in Arlington, VA. The studio I originally booked more than 6 months out cancelled on me 2 days before my big day! Jasmine heard I was was frantically looking for a studio and made it happen! She was able to schedule my bridal hair and makeup and my bridal party! FLOW has a very committed employee!
I loved my stunning makeup and my beautiful updo that was done by Nia and Esma! I wish there were more stars on this rating because 5 doesn’t give them enough praise! I highly recommend FLOW and when I’m in town visiting I will be sure to schedule an appointment!

I can’t describe how elated I am to find the best talent, Esma, who does my eyebrows. I
cannot recommend Esma highly enough. She is the BEST makeup and eyebrow artist I’ve ever met. She is now the only person I let touch my face after experiencing so many disappoinments in different places before. She really does wonders, and I am extremely picky. Bottom line, her services are worth every penny.

I went to Flow bar because my fiancé and I have photo shoot. I get my hair done and make up. It Absolutely amazing!!!

TL;DR? Totally average blowout running 10mn late and a completely BS experience with their gift card system.
At Christmas time, my husband purchased a large package of specific blowouts for me as a gift. Included in this were several nail treatments. I appreciated the gift, because what woman doesn’t love a good blowout?
Well.
My first disappointment was the fact that my gift certificate was only good at the Reston location, something that was misrepresented to him when he purchased it. (This was particularly annoying as the one closer to our home in Ashburn wasn’t listed as an option at all.) The need to haul to Reston to use a gift certificate for a _​chain_​meant it was awhile before I used the first blowout.
I made my appointment online without issue. However, it was all downhill from there. The front desk person was completely confused by my gift certificate and claimed she did not have a system to look it up. I gave her my paper print out. She told me that I did NOT have the specific blow outs and nail treatments my husband had — quite intentionally — selected. Nope. Just a dollar amount of credit. Well, that was pretty lame, but I went with it. Then she told me how much the credit was. It seemed low, but again, I went with it. I am working with FLOW to figure it out.
I had my blowout. Honestly, it was fine but it was nothing I couldn’t have done at home in the same amount of time. (They were also running late, which was annoying given their own policies on tardiness. Yay, hypocrisy! If I’m late, it’s on me. If you’re late, it’s just too bad.) Small talk is sort of a thing for hair care people, but this was an awkward silence sort of thing. I had professional headshots done immediately afterward and my (awesome) photographer had to do a fair amount of editing to calm down the frizz/​flyaways. That was unexpected less than an hour after having a professional blowout.

I had my not-​quite-​shoulder-​length hair pin curl set in an attempt to get something like Marilyn Monroe’s hair. Unfortunately it wasn’t even close. The stylist used a curling iron, then pinned the curls, but took them out before they had anywhere near enough time to cool down. So not only did I not get enough curl, what curl there was had fallen a great deal before I even got home. It wasn’t good. I definitely could have done a better job myself.
I admit that I made a complicated request, though, and Flow might be fine if you just need a regular blow out or beachy waves or something.
One more thing — I have to agree with one of the other reviewers about the décor lacking sophistication. The color scheme reminds me of a tween girl’s bedroom. Obviously this won’t effect your hair, but I mention it so that people won’t expect a more refined experience.

I needed a new place to do my eyebrows and stumbled upon this gem online! So glad I did because Esma has truly been the eyebrow goddess. She’s honest, helpful, and definitely an expert at what she does. I’ll never let anyone else touch my brows anymore.

Esma saved my brows. I had been to countless places in the area and finally decided to let my brows grow out and start over. I’m so happy to have found Esma when I did. She coached me through it; told me where to pluck if I absolutely had to and what to leave alone.
Aside from being awesome at threading, Esma is super laid back and fun to talk to. She is the best. Hands down. I’ve been seeing her for over 7 months now and wouldn’t go to anyone else.
I haven’t been to the salon for anything else but it’s well kept and clean. If you are interested in threading, I would recommend making an appointment so you don’t have to wait. Prepare to stay for 25 – 40 minutes. She takes her time, but that’s the kind of attention eyebrows deserve!

Wow! What an excellent experience. Esma is AMAZING at brows! I highly recommend.
I have gone to the same person for brow waxing for a decade (at another local salon) Today, I decided to try threading for the first time at FLOW. I am so so so glad I did. I was nervous! Esma is so great — she took the time to show me how it worked, talk about her plan for shaping my brows today and allowing them to grow in over time. She took breaks so I could see progress and get use to the sensation. I am thrilled with the look and so grateful for Esma’s attention to detail and passion for eyebrows!
She just made a customer for life! I’ll be back in 3 weeks! :)
*side note — Nia is incredible for blowouts too! This place rocks.

Called to see when I could get get an eyebrow threading appointment. Was able to get one within 20 minutes.
Arrived and there was no one at the front desk. A lady walked over and asked my name and who I had an appointment with. I told her Esma for eyebrows. Was asked to have a seat and she’d be right with me (Esma was the one who walked over to greet me).
Once she was ready for me, I explained in my eyebrows have been growing out for about a month and a half. I told her I like to keep them as thick as possible and I did not like thin eyebrows n me. I also told her I had a scar under one of my eyebrows since childhood and that brow grows funny I also told her I had sensitive skin (yes, I know… I have a few issues).
She explained to me that they are about thick healthy eyebrows and they would keep as much of the natural shape as possible. She began to thread in the center. I was okay with that. She then started on my right eye… I know when people are getting «too high up» when threading or tweezing my brows. After threading, she asked if I minded her tweezing them. I was suspicious, but agreed. This is one of those situations where I felt the tweezers too high up. She then proceeded to the left eye. Same thing.
End result? My brows are MUCH thinner than I am used to and like. I also have irritation (redness and bumps) around my eyebrows (see picture, which was taken the day afterwards).
When I checked out, amazingly 2 people showed up at the checkout desk. I asked how much the eyebrow threading was. I was told how much it was and was immediately asked did I want to buy a package. «Slow down», I thought! …I told her no and I wanted to see how I liked my eyebrows after a day or so.
Note: Please don’t try to push packages on me if its my first visit and I haven’t given you any feedback. I’d like to determine if I’m okay with the service that was done (which I kept looking in the mirror because I saw that my eyebrows too thin and there was irritation).
