This is a terrific family-​style full service salon! I get my hair cut and colored there and my son gets his haircuts there. The owner, Hope, is a master colorist! I have almost black hair, and she turns it into the most beautiful honey-​blonde — all the while keeping it strong and healthy. Matthew does a great blowout and gives my son trendy precision haircuts. Great value as well as the pricing is very reasonable for the DC area. I definitely recommend this salon!

Back again and got a very uniquely styled updo that the hairdresser came up with without my input. It looked really good and the hairdresser spent a lot of time on me. I got a lot of compliments on it that night and was pretty pleased.
My only complaint, and kinda a big one in my mind, was the hairdresser was extremely rough with my hair, ripping through all my tangles and ripped out a lot of my hair. I was little too reluctant to say anything but she was pulling so hard I was afraid to see how much hair had ripped out afterwards all over the floor and it really hurt.

I love Blaze Cut. I noticed one of their signs on my way to the Reston Community Center a few months back and thought I would give it a try. Who can beat a $ 10 men’s hair cut that looks good?
I was thrilled with the results and am always pleased by how friendly and attentive the staff is. The stylist I go to is «Chee» (phonetic spelling) and she does a thorough and detailed trim of my hair, followed by a shave, hot towel and a quick neck massage.
As noted, everyone is so nice there. It is further from home then where I used to get my hair cut, but well worth the extra few miles to be welcomed and treated so nicely that I tend to get my hair trimmed far more frequently than I ever did in the past.
Give them a try. You will keep coming back.

Took advantage of their special for highlights, cut and blow dry. Moon did a great job, one of the best highlights I’ve had. I’ll be back.

Been coming here for years. Men’s haircuts are inexpensive ($ 10+$ 1 charge card fee). Matthew does a great job with my hair, which surprisingly is difficult for me to find someone who’s consistently does a good job with my hair. I have always had very thin hair and a receding hairline since I was a child, but they do a good job with my bangs and cleaning up the back. (I refuse to shave my head until I start balding!). I highly recommend Matthew for men’s straight hair. (I can’t speak for curly hair unfortunately or I would! I’m sure he can do I great job though).
Very easy to book an appointment whether they are busy or not. They are very good about walk-​ins too. For men that have had dissapointting haircut from here, I recommend giving them another chance. As long as you take the time to clarify what you want they will do a good job! I have not had a bad haircut since Matthew has worked here. (About 1 year of being a loyal customer, with haircuts every couple of months).

Very good place. I walked in around 6pm and it was empty. They close at 8pm on weekdays. Came for a Men’s haircut ($ 10) and asked for Sooyoung (who apparently doesn’t work here anymore). Matthew gave me a very nice 2-​guard fade/​blend. I’m Asian and happy to find someone who can cut Asian, as well as Caucasian, hair well. No nonsense/​small talk, he was efficient but took his time to make it look good. He even gave me a scissor cut on my sides and back to make my fade even. Will definitely return. They charge an additional $ 1 for credit card payment, so bring cash.

I had the best experience ever! Got the appointment very easily. (Sunday afternoon — they were super busy too!) Lots of walk-​ins, but they kept my appointment precisely!

Matthew was really a ‘genius’, like Marina said. Truly a PRO!
He is so young-​looking, but have an amazing ability with those shears. He cut exactly the amount of hair/​length I had showed him and came up with amazing, beautiful layers.
Now, let me tell you about the hair color: I just needed roots touch-​up. He matched that color, to the rest of my hair, 100%! Unbelievable!
So, yeah, definitely recommended and definitely going back! Thank you, Matthew, if you ever read this. (He mentioned he did not know how/​why people knew his name! Humble too!)
Oh, the price? Great! $ 80 cut, color, styling. But it looked like a, at least, $ 150 job!
P. S.: There were two other ladies who were very friendly too, and did an excellent job on a lot of young gals and guys who are already customers and those who just walked-​in. Nice styles for short hair too! :-)

Gear inexpensive haircut. Listened to what I asked for and followed it exactly. Hot towel at end was a nice extra.

Nothing fancy but they do amazing cuts and highlights for half the price of most salons in the area. I think I paid $ 25 for my last cut. (Approx.) She cut my hair so fast I was nervous but it came out perfect! Hope is my stylists name. I’ve gone 3 times and will keep going back! I highly recommend! Plus, they don’t need weeks of advance notice. I usually get in right away.

Matthew is a genius when it comes to cutting hair! I’m so glad I’ve found him. His attention to detail is above and beyond the norm. My husband and my mother now come to Matthew for their hair cutting needs. He does such an amazing job. I have fine hair, my husband has thick somewhat curly hair, and my mother has coarse thick hair. He does a stellar job on all of us! Highly recommend!

Found this place on Unilocal and went to get a mens cut and was not disappointed. Yes, its absolutely no frills, honestly i don’t even know if they accepted credit card but I got an EXCELLENT haircut at an AMAZING price. I think the woman who cut my teenaged daughter had no experience. She completely chopped up her hair and then called for someone to come help her. The «help» was better but by this time her long hair was way shorter than what she asked for.

This is the best kept secret in Reston. they know how to style hair. Not fancy but who wants any extra pizzaz when you just want a decent hair cut with surprising styling at great prices.

$ 10 for male hair cut? Sign me up twice! Haircut was good each of the several times that I’ve been so far.

We are new to the area and walked into Blaze cut about 3 months ago. My husband needed a cut so we got serviced by a stylist named Tina. 3 months later, my whole family plus my parents and my siblings are regular clients of TINA. She is super experienced and a perfectionist. She takes her time with each one of us.

Came here based on recommendations and walked in on a Friday evening. I’ve never felt compelled to write a review like this and normally don’t care about hair but this was a disaster. I’ve had haircuts in the alleyways of Thailand that were better than this. I asked for a few inches off the bottom of my hair and it is like a layered, poofy mullet. I literally have a mullet that was created by my «stylist.»
I’m skeptical and don’t even know if the woman cutting my hair even had a license to cut hair. I can understand a little Korean and it was pretty clear she had no idea what she was doing and joking about it. She then tried to convince me that it looked fine but for the first time in my life I refused to leave. Hope came over and «fixed» it but it still looks pretty terrible. Luckily, I have break so it’ll grow out over the next month. But this is an avoid, avoid, avoid place.

Oksan is very talented. Great cut. She’s a Perfectionist. The place is not fancy but certainly could be a lot cleaner. But the prices are very reasonable. Definitely will come back.
One month later when I called to make an appointment with Oksan they said she doesn’t work there anymore! What a disappointment. Back to square one trying to find a good barber.

I used to go get my hair cut from Red Door Spa and would pay up to $ 80 a visit. I needed an emergency cut and couldn’t get an appointment at Red Door, so I decided to go try out this place because it was close to my house. My stylist was very professional and I couldn’t be more pleased with my results. I paid $ 25!!!
I got exactly what I needed for the price I paid and I will continue to come back on a regular basis for my hair cuts.
