Can’t say enough about the food AND the service! The owner has been there both times I went(because I went two days in a row after the initial visit) and everytime he’s said«I’ll give you the best(item I initially ordered) we make. Don’t worry!» And every time, it’s been amazing. It’s my new favorite. I might go again today! Lol

Delish vegan BBH that doesn’t make you miss the meat. The soup was flavorful and close to the real thing. They give lots of tofu, shiitake and«beef» that made the whole bowl feel clean and filling. Not in the best of neighborhoods but this was worth the trek.

Honestly, service and taste is far beyond excellent. For a backstory, I recently got some shots and an injury on my left arm, so my left arm is beyond functional. I’ve tried a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant before, so I was pretty excited to try this one. Once entering, the owner immediately helped me and my family of five out with seating arrangements, food recommendations, and service. I’ve ordered two meals: «chicken» nuggets and bún «bò» Hu. Unfortunately, I’ve ordered a spicy broth, in which I couldn’t finish. This is where the excellent service kicked in: I’ve asked if it was possible to change the broth to a non-spicy one, and he did it with no problems. He noticed that I couldn’t finish the bún «bò» Hu, and he proceeded to fill it in the to-go bowl for me. I’ve also wanted to get a small soy milk with sugar, but they didn’t have any left. He proceeded to get one of the pre-existing jugs of one and fill it up to a small bottle for me. I haven’t mentioned my disabled arm at all, but the fact that he did all of this without that knowledge gives me an impression that he would do this to all of his customers. Not only that, the«chicken» nuggets I ate were pretty disguise-able as actual chicken nuggets(albeit pretty pricy). Nonetheless, with this being my first time here, it won’t be my last. I felt like family here, and I’ll definitely come back for a home-cooked meal.

Local GEM and a must try! I stumbled onto Vinh Loi Tofu at Unilocal and I am happy to have found such a wonderful vegan restaurant! The restaurant is located on Sherman Way at Reseda and it is fairly small. I told the waiter it is my first time there and he was super helpful in his recommendation. I ordered the vegan ham roll that was super delicious! For entrée, I had the stir fried flat noodles with vegan ham and tofu and the stir fried rice and vermicelli with vegan duck. The serving size of each dish is very generous and the ingredients are super fresh. I love the taste of the vegan ham and I enjoyed the fact that all dishes felt light and non greasy despite being stir fried. I highly recommend this restaurant for all diners as it will really open your eyes as to how good vegan meatless meals can taste. Highly recommend!

There is nothing better than this food! I am in love with the stir fry udon curry chicken. Everything here is made with love. People talk to each other. It’s rare that you find a place that every patron is excited to be there and share their favorites with you. Vegan or not there is nothing else like this place in LA.

This spot is(in my opinion) one of the rarest finds in all of Los Angeles. I love Vietnamese food and I, absolutely, go nuts for vegetarian/vegan food at an impressively inexpensive price! I’ve been here twice and both times I left more than satisfied. The menu has a mix of all kinds of noodles. They range from rice vermicelli, udon, flat noodles, wheat noodles, etc. Also, on the menu are a wide variety of salads with tofu on almost every item. Order the Bún bò Hue if you are afraid to be adventurous. Then, come back again and try something new. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. The second time I came I ordered something that I couldn’t find on the menu, but there was a picture of it on the wall. It turns out I ordered the Tofu Robot(named after the owner’s nickname). The Tofu Robot is similar to the Bún bò Hue because it uses the same noodles but is sweeter and more tofu! You can also adjust how spicy you want it. The customer service is beyond words. The owner knows almost everyone that walks through the door. I have a feeling I’ll be back at least once a month.

My fourth review in almost 8 years of going to Vinh Loi! What else can I say besides this place rocks! I crave their food almost every single day — from their udon stir fries with duck and ham, to the Tofu Robot Soup(trust me, just get it) with fried donut bread to dunk — everything is not just good — its outstanding!

Words cannot express how much I love this place. The food is literally perfection. Go now. I recommend everything, but I recently had the curry«duck» soup and the Bahn Mi Bbq duck sandwich and I dipped it in my soup. OMG!!! I wish I lived closer. I’d eat there every single day. It’s healthy too!

This was an interesting place for me to visit. I’m not opposed to vegetarian cuisine and can dig something different. What surprised me was how they did it. Spring rolls are one of my favorite so I had to try them here. I ended up ordering an extra to go. I also ordered the Banh-Mi, which was so damn good… I ended up taking two more home for the next day. This place makes some good food and proves you can have some healthy, meat free meals that taste great. Only challenge is parking. There’s little of it but if you go at night you will fare better since many of the other businesses are closed. I’ll be back soon!

On our way back from out of town, we came here for dinner, based on the stellar reviews. Here’s what we ordered: Menu items… S3– Phở Chay… a chunky soup full of mushrooms, tofu, chicken and shrimp all vegan. It came with sprouts and romaine lettuce, a first for me. I would have preferred mint and basil and a bigger bowl. 3 stars L2 Vegan Beef Lemongrass… slices of beef and a side of rice with dressing(lemongrass?) It wasn’t as flavorful as other places and the dressing wasn’t good. 2.5 stars V1 Chicken Sub… the chicken were nuggets, but it tasted good. The bread was crunchy, warm and flaky. 4 stars R22 Ham Rolls… this was tasty and the peanut sauce was delicious. 4 stars I love trying vegan restaurants — I wish there were more of them. The dishes were okay but I felt they were overpriced for the setting, which is in a shopping center in the middle of nowhere. We paid about $ 40 for the 4 items and had no leftovers. It’s okay though, and if it’s near you, give them a try. But if you’re on the hunt for amazing vietnamese vegetarian food, I suggest you head southeast to: * Thien Tam Vegetarian Restaurant in El Monte, and * Thuyen Vien in Anaheim Both of these places are awesome and charge 30 — 40% less for the same food

Fan-f*cking-tastic. I totally fell in love with this place and I’m not even an advocate for vegan eats. I checked this spot out last week and was happy I did so. When I walked in, I just stared at the menu. I asked if they had phở, even though it wasn’t really what I wanted. I didn’t know what I wanted to eat but I knew it was too hot for phở. The guy behind the counter asked if he could pick for me. I have absolutely no idea what I ate that day. It was a bowl with thin glass noodles and a bunch of herbs and flavor. When I asked the guy what he picked for me, he said«something super awesome», which obviously only made me love him more. I will be back here without a doubt!

Came today around 12:30 for the first time. It was packed! I asked the owner for recommendations, and told him what I liked. I decided on the ham rolls, house soup, and he made me a stir fry with tofu. Everything was fresh and delicious, and so much food! I also got a can of the Thai iced tea, it was yummy too. I had no problem parking on the street. The lot is small and was full though. My total was 35.00, thought was pricey, but I have enough for a whole other meal, so that works out fine. He does not use MSG, and told me he is allergic, as am I. Its hard to find a Vietnamese spot that doesn’t use it. Now I am hooked and cannot wait to try other dishes here. Great food and service. Glad I decided to try it.

I’ve been coming here for several years. Parking sucks but the food is tasty and you gotta love Kevin’s sarcastic sense of humor. The Phở is pretty good and the Udon stir fry is deelish. They have Kombucha drinks which I love. If you don’t know what to order just ask Kevin he will definitely let you know what you want to have. Kevin is a crazy Ironman, triathlon running freak of nature. He may run a marathon before he goes to work… wow. I will keep coming back BUT… see note below. *** They recently raised the prices. The menu does not reflect the actual price you will pay, would be nice to know that before you order. The prices didn’t go up a little they went up like $ 2 per entrée… :0 I guess Kevin needs a new Mercedes Benz GL which runs about 70k. Lunch is gonna run you $ 13 a plate with no drink, that’s a deciding factor the next time I’m trying to figure out lunch.

Anytime I find myself in the Valley, I bee like it to Vinh Loi. I’ve been loyal for over 5 years! This place is the busiest I’ve ever seen it today. So thankful for a genuine and full of heart guy like Kevin succeed! My go to order are the spring hand rolls. Savory and fresh. Tried the house duck soup and it was filling yet light with a great broth. I also took away a block of ham sold in ½ and 1lb increments.

This would have been four or five stars if our service on our second visit has mirrored our first. The owner is a delight and very attentive. He is accommodating to any needs and made our first visit a reason to go back. Sadly my roommate and I had a less than stellar experience the second time. We ordered phở and Thai ice tea except when we went to get seating the young man hosting asked us to sit in the back desire plenty of room in the front and the back. We asked for tables in the front and after that things went downhill. The waitress did not wait on us, we had to get out own items, and my roommate was charged extra for items she wasn’t charged during our first trip. When she asked the host he began to v argue and finally three three dollars at her. He also then asked for a tip… Pretty disappointing after such a first trip. Roommate won’t ever come back. It is too bad that service can ruin coming back. Miss the owner.

This is a solid vegan joint. A shining little star in the valley where it’s tough to find something different. I honestly couldn’t tell you what I’ve had because the owner always just chats with me and asks me what I want. Last time I said, something high protein and low carb and it was done. I’m never disappointed with my food and I’ve never even opened a menu. After looking at all the other pictures on here, I definitely feel like I’ve been missing out on their amazing looking soups. I say go in there with an open mind, ask the owner what’s hot and just roll with it. You won’t be disappointed! You get a massive plate, you support a small business and you save the animals all in one spot. You can’t go wrong. The food tastes great, service is friendly(I’ve never been there during peak hours) and eating vegan makes me want to be a better human. Alas, I would have to admit that a non-vegan restaurant will always be a top choice for me and I can’t say I would go out of my way to eat here. So, a solid 4 stars, my endorsement and recommendations to all vegan and vegan-curious friends is what Vinh Loi Tofu gets from me :)

The shop itself is a family owned business, very casual and so it’s decorated with the owner’s personal athletic accomplishments: he’s participated in several Ironman competitions and is an avid runner –I participate in half marathons occasionally. So, I thought the restaurant decorated with his personal medals is special and cool(some may find it tacky). The owner is personable, super friendly, has a good vibe, and he walked around the restaurant asking customers how’s everything. We happen to chit chatted about things runners talk about(shoes, injuries, races, running schedules and how to get miles in) –I appreciate his down to Earth personality. Now, about the food. I purchased the Ham Roll(about $ 5): lettuce, rice vermicelli noodles, faux ham in rice paper w/peanut sauce. You get two rolls with each order. The peanut sauce helps, as it is a little bland. House special soup, $ 10: Flat rice noodles, spicy peanut broth, combo vegan meats: fish, shrimp & chicken. Served w/bean sprouts & lime. DELICIOUS! Perfect amount of spice and serving was enough for me to share. The shop is located in the valley(YAY!) in a small, corner strip mall, with few(but free) parking spots. I am glad it wasn’t too busy the night I went, as parking wasn’t a problem. I’ll definitely be back to try other items. If you aren’t a vegan, eating here will make you realize how easy it would be to make the switch :)

I tried VLT two weeks ago and I CANNOT stop thinking about it! How can I get back there? What will I order? How can I choose? I shared the ham spring rolls with peanut sauce and the house special noodle dish with a friend. My only regret is that we shared! SODELICIOUS. And vegan? Who knew? Even with sharing, we could not eat another bite. I scrolled through 100 pictures on Unilocal to try to figure out what to try next time. IMPOSSIBLE. They all look amazing. If VLT was any closer, I’d eat there everyday. YUM.
