All-​Stars team coaches Reseda Coach — Martin. These guys really put in a lot of time and dedication to teach these kids and take them far. Baseball and softball.

I love coming here I recently came here to the pool and park. The pool is so nice. everything is so great and peaceful.

It’s apparently «safer» to have only one parent inside the pool area watching 3 kids, rather than 2 parents if the 2^nd parent doesn’t have on a bathing suit. Are you kidding me? 2 stars for the 30 minutes of fun family time before the lifeguard made me leave and sit outside on the bleachers in the hot sun which harshed my kids’ mellow.

I come here twice a week for tennis. There are 4 courts side by side. The courts are very well maintained with no cracks on the ground. There are also lights, but I usually come in the day. There is also a small parking lot, but there is plenty of parking all the time.

Look, this is not Beverly Hills or anything, so my 4 star review is a reflection of a lovely place here in Reseda, Ca (no offense to fellow Reseda residence).
The truth is, you’ll find the occasional empty beer bottle or two. You’ll find the creepy looking dude standing without a shirt on. You’ll find the unwrapped condom on the floor (true story!) but if you can actually look passed all that, this is a lovely place, because you’ll also find:
Ducks and geese in all their glory. A cute, relatively well-​preserved clean pond. Picnic tables. Friendly walkers/​runners. Couples cuddling on blankets. Soccer games. Kids running around. Friendly man selling amazing corn on the cob and other such treats. FREE public tennis and basketball courts. FREE PARKING. I’ve never used the pool, but there is a pool here. Squirrels that come up to you if you are holding peanuts (I saw them being hand fed today). Dog friendly park with owners who have nice well-​behaved dogs (this is not a gated dog park– but it is a dog friendly park). Speaking of dogs, I once brought my little dog out here and he ran into the pond while chasing the ducks. Before you accuse me of being a neglectful owner, he was on leash but ran so fast, the leash came off. He’s fine. It was hilarious. I wish I had a YouTube video to show for it.
It’s worth a visit.

If you were raised in the Valley (San Fernando that is) you at some point have been to Reseda Park on the corner of Reseda and Victory. I grew up feeding the squirrels, the ducks and playing in the kids area.
I’m now back as a parent taking my son to play baseball for Reseda and I love the staff here. He played for the Angels under Coach Luis and Coach Elvis and we had a great season. Both coaches are amazing with the kids and seriously patient for this 9 – 10 y.o. age group. We are in the Reseda All-​Stars under the same coaches and joined by another Reseda Coach — Martin. These guys really put in a lot of time and dedication to teach these kids and take them far.
The Pond, I remember was emptied out 1 – 2 years ago I believe, cleaned and re-​filled. The smell as another reviewer posted is much more bearable but keep in mind, all the ducks poop everywhere so it will always be some kind of smelly. You’ll see turtles pop their heads out once in a while since some times people dump turtles in the pond.
This park has everything: Pool, Basketball Courts, Baseball Fields, Pond, BBQ grills and tables, Tennis Courts, Volleyball Courts, Kids play area, all kinds of programs for kids to learn sports, dance, karate.etc.
The fair comes often and the park is always filled with people playing soccer, doing extreme work outs, fishing, feeding ducks… etc.
The only issue I have is the youngsters that think it’s cool and ok to smoke weed where anyone can see or smell it. I was practicing with my son at one of the fields, it was just the two of us and these 3 boys, one must’ve been between 12 – 13 and the others just a few years older came and sat at the bleachers and started passing the dutch… I don’t care if you smoke and have no problem with that but don’t smoke in front of other little kids in the broad daylight… WTH is wrong with these kids now a days. I think the cops should patrol more often.

Oh Reseda!
Reseda Park will forever hold a special place in my heart. For any local growing up in the area, Reseda Park was great extended backyard yard to have. The park has so many things to offer: Basketball Courts, Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, Pond (w/​Ducks) Playgrounds, Seasonal Carnivals, BBQ, Picnics, and apparently Judo Classes.
I still jog around the park early mornings, running through the bridge near Reseda High school to the duck pond. Apparently back in the day one could rent paddle boats and paddle around. The water is murky and an all too familiar pond smell virulently spreads in the air. Although I am often irked by the smell of the water, the ducks always provide me with fond memories. I used to feed the ducks bread with the grandpa back in the day, and I am pretty sure the same ducks are still there.
In all, Reseda Park is grand. The basketball courts are always popular during the evening, the pool is full during the summer, baseball/​softball games start in the Spring, and the Carnival arrives here and there. What more can one ask for in a park!

This is a good size park located off Victory Blvd in the West Valley Area of Reseda with a small pond with ducks. During the summer the basketball courts get busy at night. Also its right near the One Generation Senior Center.
Some of the activities you can do are baseball/​softball, walking/​jogging, bbq, picnics, tennis, bday parties, swimming, playground for the kids, feed the ducks, and go eat at nearby mom & pop restaurants.

The Pool here at the park… is great in the summer time.
There are showers available… and the hours are good

I grew up in Reseda — which despite what Unilocal seems to think, is not in the «neighborhood» of Encino. Douchebags live in Encino. This is West Valley.
Before there were personal computers and teh Internets, I was either down the street at the West Valley Library, or here, swimming or playing tennis or getting beat down in judo class. An eon later and I still remember these chicken nuggets of wisdom from my childhood:
1. The best things in life are free, like swimming pools with diving boards in the summer. (Don’t pee in the pool. Well, not more than once…)
2. There will always be someone bigger than you and someone more intimidating. Remember how that feels like.
3. There will always be someone smaller than you and someone afraid of you. Remember how that feels like.
4. Pain is fleeting. When some kid three times your weight is going to inevitably toss you around like a rag doll, just go with it and it will hurt less — just remember to tuck in your chin so you don’t bang your head.
5. You’re too skinny if you spend all night trying to keep your pants up. If that isn’t a problem, maybe you need to use Unilocal for something other than eating…
Every time I visit the folks, who moved back to my childhood home a few years ago, I drive by this place and get nostalgic. I miss summer. I miss my old judo gi – the Daily News took a pic of me wearing it one Halloween and captioned it, «In traditional ethnic garb.» Morons…
The Judo lessons were taught by Neil Ohlenkamp, a 6^th-​degree black belt in Judo and Aikido who has been teaching since before I was born. A few years back, I stumbled upon him on rec.arts.martialarts (Usenet, LOL, kiddos…) and shot him an email. Not only was he still teaching here, but he still remembered me, my sister, and my brother — my soccer mom popped us out close enough together so she could make us all do these things together… I’m lucky if I remember what I did last week… He might not still be teaching here, but I’m sure he would pass the torch to someone as exemplary.

Why go here instead of your private gym or your silly rock climbing wall club? Community and a sense of belonging to something far greater than just some trendy elitist club.
