Cold food, so disappointed. Ordered the Saltado de pollo flavors were on point but the potatoes at the bottom were refrigerator cold. Guess they figured I wouldn’t notice since the chicken and veggies on top were warm. We also ordered chicken in a yellow sauce and it was also cold too. Couldn’t finish our food it was like trying to eat chicken in cold gravy. Yuk. Makes you wonder were else they cut corners. I noticed the guy at the register taking the orders was also the only guy cooking. While we were trying to eat we saw a family cancel their Togo order because they did not like the way the dine chicken taste. And another man complained that his dish was too salty. Guess it was a bad night. Will not be returning.

Unfortunately if you go on the wrong day when the wrong people are in the kitchen, the chicken can be very dry and flavorless.

I would give it five stars if the food wasn’t hit and miss and the service a bit lacking. I have been going here for some time now and if you hit it on the right day it is amazing! Some of the best chicken I have ever had. It is juicy and flavorful throughout and the seasoning is just right. The sauces are fantastic and the sides are good. Everything is fresh. The ceviche is excellent. It is raw fish, so if you are not into that you might not like it. The citrus dressing it is tossed with is flavorful, but not overpowering. Unfortunately if you go on the wrong day when the wrong people are in the kitchen, the chicken can be very dry and flavorless. Also they sometimes give you basically bean soup rather than draining the liquid from the beans when they serve it. The service is also hit and miss. When the owners are there it is great, but they rarely are. If they get even the least bit busy it becomes a big problem, because they are always understaffed. The cashiers are friendly, but incredibly disorganized which can make for longer than expected waits. I have yet to try their other location in Van Nuys. Maybe that’s where the owners spend all their time? Overall I give it three stars because of the inconsistency.

The food and drinks were amazingly delicious! Our server, Benny, provided us with the best experience & service ever. He went above and beyond in taking his time to really explain the menu and a little bit of the history behind this little whole in the wall. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Great portion size for the price! The Lomo Saltado was very flavorful. Staff was really helpful. As a first timer… I didn’t know you were suppose to order and pay first at the counter and then sit. The staff were very friendly and directed us to do so. I will be back again.

The cross streets of Reseda and Vanowen Blvd offer cuisine from all corners of the world … Some would call it the foodie Mecca of the valley. Here’s what I found at this place … As a side note… Now usually I try somewhere and if I don’t like it or something was really wrong, I won’t come back. Can’t say the same here. I visited them first time when they opened and to say the least, they would’ve been lucky to get 1 star out of me. I was in the mood for some lomo Saltado(#21 on the menu) on a rainy day and urged by my other colleagues to really just give it another shot. As I walked in, the atmosphere engages you as the décor to is bright, true to its Peruvian heritage and rich in food odors(taste buds UNITE!) I can’t say I’m a fan of order, pay than eat service … But it makes sense here. After ordering the lomo Saltado, I took notice to how the dining area was set up for Maximum use … No privacy here … BUT I think this added to the experience. Peruvians social culture is a very open and social set of people, especially when t comes to food. it is a very«Balsy» move stateside as most Americans want their own space and privacy. If you’re that type of person, this place is not for you… Move along. The food, portion, and condiments(if you know or have had Peruvian, you know that green crack sauce and bubble gum flavored inca cola) was on the spot. Three awesome flavored condiments to choose from(no one telling you how much to use or to not use) mounds of steak, fries, onions and good size rice. The staff and food here won me over on round two. Now I know why they’re still open.

#21 Loma Saltado. This is known as THEDISH when it comes to Peruvian food. It is a dish that is highly influenced by the Chinese that migrated to Peru and even uses soy sauce and vinegar as the foundation to the seasonings it is cooked with. This is what I ordered when I came here and I can say that I enjoyed the meal very much. The only thing I did not enjoy is although the quality very good, the meat was a little too tough for what it needs to be. I also would of liked to see more tomatoes and onions mixed in. However, overall r was good, fresh and it came out fast. It came with 3 sauces, one which is Aji sauce aka green crack. It’s totally amazing mixed in with the rice. The other two I am not sure what they were, but they worked well. You order at the counter and air and they bring you your food. The atmosphere is not the greatest, but it’s clean and comfortable for a quick soul satisfying meal.

Very much a hidden gem in the valley. Great slow wood fire rotisserie Peruvian hole in the wall right next to Yoshinoya. I got the ¼ Chicken with 2 sides for 5.99! Great price, the chicken was juicy and very tasty. The two sides were salad(iceberg lettuce, carrot shavings, 3 slices of radish, and sprinkles of cabbage) and beans(made from actual beans in onion and their own seasonings.) The other sides were French fries and rice. French fries seemed like the favorite here and I guess because they cut and fry them fresh. Very satisfied with the food and can’t believe the price. They also gave me 3 sauces they make to choose from; White — tangy mayo for the salad Yellow — a little spicy and went well with the chicken Green — a mix of spices and jalapeño(I liked it in my beans) Definitely check this out and forget the chain food when you could eat here. Service was great for a fast food place but they need more help. They are hiring(sign on the window) for all positions.

What a little gem hidden in the heart of Reseda. If you are a person who loves chicken or graving chicken then this place is a must. I was in the area and I wanted a quick bite to eat. I came across this place. It was so good. All the staff here where so friendly with a smile. I ordered the chicken that was juicy. As we all know chicken can super dry or over cooked with no flavoring. I love the fact that Listo El Pollo also serves beef and shrimp. You are not limited if you are craving something different. If you are a person who loves Peruvian then you must give this place a try. This restaurant located in a little strip mall on the corner of Reseda and Vanowen. Come hungry as the food portion are enough to fill you up.

I’m only rating the chicken. It wasn’t good. It lacked flavor even though it had just come out of the oven/fire. The portions are good but with flavorless chicken who gives a damn about the portions. They are stingy with the sauces too. They charge you extra for any extra sauces and they don’t even fill them up all the way. Oh and BTW, they charge 50 cents if you use a debit/credit card. Oh and I’ve had the lomo saltado and it was way better than the chicken.

We drove more than an hour to come here. I’ve only had Peruvian food once before, and my first time here wasn’t a disappointment either. The chicken, fries, and rice smothered with all three of their sauces were of the gods. I also ordered the lomo saltado. It was good, but I think the chicken is absolutely fantastic. Food was made to order and there was hardly a wait. This place is a dream if you enjoy chicken. You will walk out having serious onion breath from all the delightful sauces. It kind of left me with heartburn, but nothing a little extra-strength Tums won’t resolve. I had the chicha morada made from purple corn, which was interesting, but not my thing. The passion fruit is great as well, but much too sweet for my taste. Perhaps I’ll opt for their cola the next time around. Parking is sufficient in the lot.

My boyfriend and I were going through Unilocal to help us decide what we wanted to eat for dinner tonight and we stumbled upon this place and it had some good reviews so we decided to try it. It was our first time eating here and Benny, who I am not sure if he owns the place or not… went above and beyond to show great service and made our experience there so enjoyable! He gave us samples of their homemade drinks and took the time to tell us some very interesting facts about the food and the drinks. The food was delicious! I had to take the rest home because I couldn’t finish my plate. Benny was such a great host. We will definitely be coming back for some yummy Peruvian food!

I like the lomo saltado here compared to the other two Peruvian restaurants that I’ve tried in the Valley… Las Dunas and EL Incomparable. Would come back to try the chicken… seems like everybody is ordering it. Had to wait 30 minutes to get my food. Not recommended if you’re on a limited lunch break.

Okay. First off, let me start off… I want to give this place a 4 stars but, I really can’t for so many reasons: 1. Service — Was greeted and told the cashier it was my first time at a Peruvian restaurant. He was nice enough to mention the most popular Peruvian dishes. So, I gave it a try! Pretty tricky — you order at the desk first, try not to sit down and make the same mistake as I did. 2. Food — Again, I wasn’t sure how the taste of Peruvian food is supposed to taste like. I had both the chicken & Lomo Saltado.(Very Salty!!!) I even had their popular stuffed potato.(Had different veggies inside — it was either fried or baked) But, when I first took my bite of the chicken saltado, it tasted a lot like salty soy sauce? Is this how it’s supposed to taste like, I asked myself? I did like the fact it had French fries! That was good. 3. Time — Omg. It took them more than 30 minutes to bring out my plate! Yes, why did it take forever? Did I mention the cashier was the cook? Yup, that was very weird?! I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not? 4. Cleanliness — Good. It was well arrange. A party of like 10 people left a table with dirty dishes and the table didn’t get cleaned after 10 minutes? The restaurant was pretty empty too! Okay, maybe someone called out sick and they were under staff? Still not a excuse. I don’t think I will return, maybe I need to try a different Peruvian restaurant to compare it to? if i had to recommend this place? I would probably say: «You be the judge?» I can totally be wrong though!!!

Great Peruvian food in the valley! 1. Lomo Saltado(beef strips sauteed with onions, tomato, cilantro, fresh cut fries and a side of rice) — $ 10.99: my fav; meat is tender and juicy, fresh cut fries, overall, perfectly seasoned and not too salty 2.½ chicken + 2 small sides combo — $ 9.99: great deal, chicken was nice and tender, skin was crispy, beans were good, and salad was okay 3. Maracuya(passion fruit) drink: good 4. Chicha Morada(purple corn) drink: yummy, refreshing and semi-sweet Located in a plaza northeast of Reseda Blvd and Vanowen St.; Busy, small and compact parking

For lunch last Friday, my co-workers and I went to this delicious Peruvian restaurant in Reseda. It was one of my co-workers last day with us at the company so we wanted to give my friend Bernice a great send off. The restaurant is kind of small, and you have to order at the front. But what it lacks for size, they definitely don’t lack in flavor and portion. I ordered the Saltado de Camarones, while John & Bernice ordered this seafood combination plate good for two people. That was served with some delicious pickled onions that were soaked in lemon juice. The amount of food on my plate was more than enough. The shrimp was cooked to tender perfection, the fries were cooked light while they were drenched in a sauce. I am definitely coming back again.

It’s good to know that there’s great lomo saltado in the valley! I wish I had tried their other menu items, but MAN. That lomo saltado is awesome! The meat is definitely marinated/season very well, and thedish comes together very well. My only request is that there would be more tomatoes in the mix! This is an order-at-the-counter-and-they’ll-bring-it-out-to-you kind of place, with a very casual environment. Parking is a bit difficult, as the lot is small and shared with the other places next door.

Driving through Reseda, I decided to give this place a try for lunch today. The location is very unassuming and next to a liquor store in a strip mall– the last place you’d expect to find authentic Peruvian cuisine. I arrived just before noon and the place was practically empty. The interior of the restaurant was small, but warm and cozy. Simple décor and handful of tables provide the platform for your dining comfort, including cool Latin music and flat screen TV tuned to Telemundo. Since I was the only one here, I wasn’t sure if it was full service so I ordered at the counter. I ended up getting the tacu tacu con lomito, which was similar to lomo saltado but without fries and the rice was a Latin version of jambalaya with beans. It was terrific and slight twist on the Peruvian food that I’m used to. The sliced steak was well seasoned, tender and really tasty. I enjoyed the rice dish as well. The green sauce was fantastic and had good kick to it amplifying the flavors of the dish. Portions were just right and the price reasonable($ 14). Along with my meal, I ordered a refreshing Chicha Morada drink. This dark red, purplish colored concoction was Peru’s version of a fruit punch. I asked one of the workers what it was made of and he said«Corn». Yes, Corn Amigo! Peruvian purple corn to be exact and mixed with fruit, and spices. It was my first time and was delicious. I enjoy great discoveries like these and the experience was delightful. By the way, they use real wood to cook their roasted chicken which I hear are excellent. I definitely looking forward to trying them next time.

The lomo saltado is the best I have had in Los Angeles. Unlike other places, the meat here is better quality — soft and tender, and very flavorful. They are also known for their rotisserie chicken which I read is better than Zankou. I no longer need to go to Mario’s in Hollywood for great Peruvian!
