History

Established in 1997.

The original Aloha Dive was started in the late 60’s by Masa Watanabe.

Masa was a great person and a great instructor. He has stores located in Burbank and Reseda CA. When you visited Aloha Dive it was a family owned and operated business, you felt at home. Masa passed away in 1987. In 1997, Chris Russello, a veteran diver since his first certification by Masa Watanabe in 1972 decided to open a Scuba Diving business after spending a long career in the escrow, mortgage and real estate business. Chris’s vision of a dive shop was a «down home locate shop», this same great feeling you felt when you visited the original Aloha Dive when Masa owned it. Chris passion for diving began when he became a certified diver in 1972. Chris has made over 6000 dives. After spending many years as a professional Escrow Officer and owning a Real Estate Mortgage Company, Chris decided to give up his real estate career and pursue his passion for diving, in 1997 Aloha Dive was opened for business. Chris holds a NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) Worldwide Instructor Trainer Certification Rating, in addition Chris holds a SSI Instructor Certifier Rating, Master Instructor Rating and holds a 100 ton Captain License. Aloha Dive is your local independent Scuba Diving shop where you get expert scuba diving instruction with a personal touch. Aloha Dive sells the finest scuba diving equipment and has the knowledge on the equipment they sell. Aloha DIve offers in house repairs for all scuba diving equipment and has a full line of scuba diving equipment rental. Come in and relax with friends or meet new friends who all love to dive.
