Dr. Odegard opened his dental practice in the Renton Highlands in 1991. He has grown his practice over the years the old fashion way, by giving people great honest service and doing excellent dentistry. Dr. Odegard believes that the reward for treating people well is the opportunity to treat their friends and family.

Business Owner

Dr. Robert Odegard is a native of the Great Pacific Northwest. He was born in Seattle Washington and attended Seattle University. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1989.

Dr. Odegard is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association and the Seattle King County Dental Society. Dr Odegard is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry, an award that only 5% of the dentists nation wide have achieved. He is also a Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Odegard attends many of hours of continuing education courses each year and has studied Endodontics (root canal dentistry), Cosmetics and Smile Makeovers, Implants, Periodontal surgery, Cerec one visit computer made crowns, Oral Surgery, Comprehensive Prosthetic Dentistry, The Pankey Institute, and many dental implant continuums and mini residencies. This is the best dentistry I’ve ever been a patient of. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist and in fact most of my life I have dreaded it. My friend referred me to Dr. O’s office and from day one I have felt very welcome here. I bring my baby with me when I get my teeth cleaned and the girls at the front desk (particularly Jessica) keep him entertained while I’m getting worked on. Both of the hygienists that I have seen (Becca and Kristen) are very friendly, gentle and thorough. Both of the dentists are very warm and friendly people as well as helpful. My husband is a patient here as well and really likes them. I’m so glad I can finally be comfortable while at the dentist and know that I am well taken care of.

These guys are awesome! I came here on a recommendation from a friend, and her recommendation was spot-​on! The front desk is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and make you feel like you’re truly a part of the family even if you only see them twice a year. My husband HATES the dentist and avoided going for 10 years before I got him to try Dr. Odegard’s office. The staff is great at working with patients who aren’t super excited to be there, and have done a great job of making my husband feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible (he goes twice a year now, don’t worry!).
I had my wisdom teeth removed at Dr. O’s office last year, and was amazed by their customer service. In the process of removing one of my wisdom teeth, the dentist ended up chipping a nearby crown I had gotten about 5 years earlier from a previous dentist. As it turned out, the crown hadn’t been sealed properly and there was significant bacterial growth under it (gross!). Dr. O not only replaced the old, poor-​quality crown with a much better one, but he did it entirely for free!
I truly can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff and service is here!

I also just wanted a short commute to the dentist because of my past experience with dentists was very unpleasant and I could at least have a short drive… from the moment I walked in to the office I was greeted with smiling faces and an office staff that cared about their patients and went the extra mile to get me in for appointments at my convenience and Dr. O went over a detailed care plan to best care for my personal dental needs and effectively use my insurance… I used to dread visits to the dentist… my entire view on dentist appointments has changed… the hygienists are gentle and compassionate… they have a wonderful team that truly have helped me become comfortable sitting in that once dreaded chair… and I love the email and text reminders…

I am not a big fan of the dentist. I had a terrible experience in college and dread it every time. I came here once and by the time I came back to get my fillings filled, a month later, they remembered me. They asked about my husband and his teeth after a recent visit of his. The place is clean and the staff is incredible. The doctors won’t do a filling on you unless absolutely necessary. I don’t mind coming here at all.

All I can tell you is, I went to Dr. Odegard to get an consultation and estimate on a dental implant. I didn’t get much info from him and didn’t get a good vibe from him. I was then pressured and urged to get an X-​ray on their «special» state of the art machine so they can have a better idea of what needs to be done. I ended up having to pay $ 325 out of pocket because the insurance doesn’t pay for this. His prices was a bit high so I went to another dentist, Dr. Chang of East Valley Family Dentistry, for a 2nd opinion. I got the same X-​ray done on the same machine at Dr. Chang for FREE!
Just imagine my surprise, anger, feeling like a fool (I’ve been SUCKERED!) when I asked if I have to pay for the X-​ray and Dr. Chang say no as this is just for them to be able to get a better idea on what I need. Not only that, Dr. Chang’s price were CONSIDERABLY LESS…$ 1,000 to be exact, $ 2,500 vs. $ 3,500; not including the $ 325 x-​ray I was suckered into.
Yes, I was hesitant and scared that «you get what you paid for». However, after Dr. Chang explained in details the procedure and everything that involved, I figured the $ 1,000 was worth the risk. Thank God went for it because that Chang did an AWESOME job! he was very knowledgeable and helpful and patience in explaining things to me, which Dr. Odegard did not.
On top of that, I did NOT get a «good feeling» with his staff. I walked in and they were talking bad about another patient with each other. I guess that should have clued me in. After I decided to not use Dr. Odegard, I had to call them a couple time and they weren’t very nice!
Oh…later on… I found out one of my sister had a crown done with Dr. Odegard that pains her for weeks afterward. It was so painful that she was unable to eat for a week or two… only able to slurp soups! She went back and Dr. Odegard decided that she needed a root canal. She said she had the WORST service from both staff and Dr. Odegard! They weren’t helpful and didn’t care too much for the pain she was in… not only physically but financially because these two procedures cost her thousands of out-​of-​pocket money! Needless to say, my has since moved her entire family to another dentist.

I initially selected Dr. O as my dentist given the close proximity to our home (about 5 mins) and am happy I did. As other reviews stated, everyone in the office is friendly and non-​intimidating (a must in my book for dental work!), plus the office team is always flexible and accommodating of my travel schedule.

Let’s just start by saying this: I hate the dentist. My anxiety is through the roof even thinking about it. This place though… this place made me feel so at ease. I never, EVER, thought I’d say that about a dentist.
Very small, open office. Seems pretty new as well. Clean.
When I first called as a new patient they asked if I had any fears involving the dentist, and I told them basically everything. They were very nice about it, very calming. All of the front desk ladies are very nice, especially Rachelle.
Upon coming in, I was greeted with nothing but friendly smiles and words of encouragement for the day. That made me feel better.
Kristen is the one who cleaned my teeth. She was amazing. I’ve never been so comfortable. She talked to me the entire time and just kept my mind off things. I had been having a horrible toothache (turns out I needed a root canal) and told her I was very nervous about the pain if she touched it. She was very gentle, and if I showed any sign of discomfort, she moved to a different tooth and gave it a break.
I didn’t get to see Dr. Odegard for some reason (I thought my apt was with him…), but I saw Dr. Cho (sp??). He was very nice, gentle, and very helpful in explaining my options for the root canal.
I will 100% be back for any cleanings I ever have again. The only reason I didn’t do my root canal procedure is that we made arrangements with someone who specializes in that area, since I’m so nervous we decided that would be better. But for any other dental work. I’ll be back.

I originally came to Dr Odegard earlier this year to have him fix the bonding on my front tooth that had a tiny little chip. (My front teeth have had bonding to close a gap since I was a pre-​teen)
He and his assistant Crystal not only fixed that chip — he’s such a perfectionist with his cosmetic work that he spent quite a bit of time really making sure that the shape of the corners of my two front teeth «fit» my face. I left his office with way better looking front teeth, not just a repaired chip. Huge confidence boost. He’s not just a dentist — he’s an artist and someone who really cares about his work and his patients.
At that time — I decided to switch to him for my cleanings too even though he’s further away from my house and work than lots of other dentists.
I just got done with my second cleaning since I began coming to Dr Odegard’s office. Becca («my» hygienist) is so gentle and has such a calm energy about her, I’m telling you, I’ve never felt more relaxed and at ease in a dental chair. I couldn’t resist writing a review for them after yet another perfect experience.
By the way — Betsy and Rachelle at the front desk are fantastic, you’ll feel like you’ve known them for years when you meet them. Great to be able to start and finish your appointments with their warm, caring presence.

Outstanding dentist, however his receptionist and procedural coder are unskilled or they simply don’t care, and have sharp tongs; they are costing a remarkable dentist client. I won’t be going back, It was so embarrassing to sit there and listen to them talk about clients in such a shameful way. After the dental work was done, and done well the coder failed to code the work correctly, I called my insurance company and they instructed me to call the dentist and ask them to resubmit the payment or to call them and get the correct codes. The front desk told me that I was trying to force them to commit fraud!!! So sad that a good dentist hired such «mean girls». Stupid is as stupid does. (sigh)

I have been with Dr. Odegard for over 10 years. He and his team has always been very friendly and very gentle when caring for my teeth. His team is always up to date with the newest technology and continues to give me the best care and advice of how to keep them healthy. He was the first dentist to really treat my teeth with the most gentle care and I did not like going to a dentist due to my childhood experience. Thank you Dr. Odegard and his team, Jody, who has worked on my teeth many times with such gentle hands and Becca who recently worked with me the last two times, you are as gentle and kind. Its always nice seeing Betsy at the front desk to greet you with a warm greeting as if we just had lunch together. They are all wonderful at the office. Dr. Odegard’s office is a great place to get your teeth done and they truly want you to have a nice smile and keep your teeth healthy as well.

Not only is Dr. Odegard a good dentist he exhibits a sincere concern and caring. I always dreaded having dental work done because I was rarely able to be numbed. Dr. O always does it right with little or no pain. Most all of his staff have been with him for many years and clearly love and respect this man. He and staff are constantly attending education events to always be up to date in the world of dentistry.

Once in a lifetime a dentist like Dr. Odegard comes along and how lucky we are to have found him. Our family was referred to Dr. Odegard about ten years ago. I had previously had many negative dental experiences so was quite apprehensive about starting with someone new. From the moment I stepped thru the door the entire process was a huge «WOW» factor. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff is awesome, the cleanings are the best ever and the office itself is extremely high tech. Doctor O is the best dentist by far I have ever been to. I had serious issues and over a three year period he went above and beyond to correct my problems and bring my teeth back to normal. He is not your average dentist and is always there in times of crisis. Many times in emergency situations he would call from home and meet me at his office. I have never had any doctor or dentist that shows the type of dedication he shows. We moved to Phoenix 3 years ago and realized we would need someone local. After two attempts we realized this was an impossible task and we now fly from Phoenix to Seattle for all dental work. This week I returned with more major issues and he spent 8 hours restoring my mouth. One day later I have little pain and am so happy we made the choice we made. Dr. O is not just a wonderful dentist, he is a great person. He is very involved in his community and cares about each patient. He is sensitive and kind and is brilliant in his practice. Additionally he does it all including implants, root canals, extractions, bone grafts, whatever it takes to avoid a series of doctors which means spending a lot more money. I cannot recommend this amazing man highly enough! He will change your dental experience and you like us, will never want to leave this practice.

I have been going here for years! I hated going to the dentist until I found Dr. Odegard. Every single person I have met there is so great. I will go in and get my teeth cleaned and at the same time have my 10 year old son and 4 year old daughter have there teeth cleaned. Not only do I have a great experience every time my kids LOVE going to the dentist!!! Its shocking to me but they really do love going. My son has had one cavity:(and he did not feel a thing when they filled it. I recommend him to every family member and all my friends!
