History

Established in 1963.

Rainier Christian Schools serves the families of South King County who are committed to Christian education. Maple Valley Elementary was established in 1963 as a cooperative endeavor of area churches. It flourished as an inter-​denominational school with emphasis on serving families of Bible based Christian Churches. The district was created in 1994, following the merger of Kent View Christian Schools and Maple Valley Christian School, each with a rich legacy of Christian education spanning more than 40 years.

The formation of the district facilitated the creation of our middle school, Rainier (Formerly Covington) Christian Middle School, and a third elementary school in the Highlands area of Renton (including Highlands Preschool & Childcare). All of our campuses are now well established and thriving. Our growing district has allowed us to continue expanding our programs, a particular blessing as we seek to meet the needs of a burgeoning demand for Christian education at the elementar

Before enrolling your kids into any school check the washington State Department of Early Learning’s website. Here are valid complaints reported about the preschool on
If it is a private school check the state superintendent of public instruction’s website.
Lastly if it is a christian organization you can check CAPE and ASCI who govern private schools and can tell you if the schools are in fact approved/​accredited christian organizations and we found out the maple valley preschool campus was not approved, accredited, and hence that is why the organization falls under DEL’s governance.
My advice is if your child attends this school make sure you are receiving incident reports and daily reports to include the lunch and reports on your child, if the school is mistreating your child or failing to report your students day to you contact Department of early learning to file a complaint which is simple and easy to say the least. 1.866.482.4325

We were with the Maple Valley preschool. Our little son has a strong personality. The first couple of years we were fortunate to have firm teachers who were able to keep things from happening in the class but this year has been an epic disaster. Two passive teachers who don’t seem qualified to handle child behaviors. My wife is a public school educator who has had anxiety about leaving our son in such a non structured classroom. The director just kicks children out whenever there is a problem but seems unable to address the issues of the school, and when my wife went to speak to the superintendent of the school system, he himself admitted that there are a lot of problems that they are working on but that, at this time, they cannot offer much to our family so we are moving our child elsewhere. We have seen a deterioration of our son’s self image since this school year and he is even anxious and upset to step foot onto the campus at this point we are just glad it is almost over. So if you have a child with absolutely no behavior issues at the age of three this might be OK for them but if you don’t then don’t come here.
