Cool little dive bar, in classic Renton bar style they pour fat and cheap drinks so no complaints there.

Went to this bar the other night and I was really impressed. It wasn’t because they offer anything new or any unique beers, no it was because they were incredibly friendly and very attentive.
The beer is cheap and they have a good variety. The food is tasty and not overpriced for what it was. But still the best thing was the hospitality of the staff and that went a long way.
I’d recommend this bar for a group of friends looking for a relaxing night of watching sports and enjoying friendly company.

This place fucking sucks and is a whole in the wall bar and trashy ass people in there only cool thing is they play poker on Thursdays

Friendly and clean but there was a real drunk guy there who should have been tossed out. Food was good but not sure I want to go back because of the drunk guy

There’s just something about bar food fare … when it’s good it’s really good but when it’s bad I go to pieces.
I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been to Renton in the past ten years. I don’t get around much, what can I say. My friend lives in the Highlands, and she took me to this joint … I don’t want to call it a dive, it’s just a neighborhood bar, with a ginormous TV for sports fans. A wood burning (or something burning) stove in the corner, a place to smoke that’s not on the front sidewalk. Nothing special. Nothing special, that is, until you spend $ 5.00 for bbq ribs and fries. Best five bucks my friend ever spent on me! Hell, I should pay her back! The ribs were boneless, the inside was moist and succulent (damn, I love that word) and the outside was crispy and just the right amount of spice. It was a little dry only on the outside but the sauce was pretty piquant and more of it might have caused me to break out in a sweat. Solution: slide each bite through the catsup first. The fries were good too. I ate every last one. The only thing missing was a scoop of cole slaw, but that might have brought the price up to $ 6.00.
Before my dish came, I tried my friends’ «Irish Nachos,» fries topped with cheese and bacon. Needs more cheese, that’s all I’m gonna say. If you were to add sour cream and chopped green onion then yeah, okay, charge another dollar!
The bartender, Shayla, was as sweet as sweet potato pie. The drinks were not overly strong, but they weren’t expensive and I felt good about myself, and life, the next morning.
If I ever go back to Renton, which I’m sure I will at least one or two more times before I die, I hope to stop by Katie J’s for more bar food. I will try a burger next time just cause.

Do not come here for their all you can eat wings! They are so salty that we could only eat one order. They come out in orders of 5 and take forever to get. Not such a good deal and they taste horrible. We asked for wings without sauce and the bartender refused. The sauce is just horrible. I love wings but could not stomach more than 5 of those.

After reading the «description» by the owners, I truly have to chime in here. Beer pong? Live music? Drink specials? Steak? $ 1 Beer? Um, negative, Ghost Rider. Don is the only bartender worth going to see.
This is not a fancy place, so don’t expect to go into a Red Robin type of atmosphere. They should just call the place what it is — «Katie J’s» — and take off the «Bar & Grill».

It looks like a scary ramshackle place on the outside but inside is clean, lots of room, pool tables and darts, TV’s, etc. The people inside are really friendly and the drinks are cheap and good. Don’t judge a book by its tattered cover :)
