Bought my new PSE beast here about a month ago. Great friendly staff. Got a one our lesson from the owner today he is awesome.

So much fun! It as such a stress reliever and I will definitely be making a habit of coming here

We took our daughters here for a birthday gift. We were all first timers and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Had a great time and we will be back! Highly recommend.

My mom bought a groupon for archery lessons and lane rental. The facility is nice however don’t bother with their lessons. It involved less than five minutes of instruction. While I would visit the facility again I wouldn’t bother with lessons.

The short lesson that was given was really helpful and the staff were super friendly. They definitely eased any hesitations that I had prior to trying archery for my first time. They create a friendly and safe environment where everyone can try archery and practice whenever they want.
In front of the range is a small shop where more expert and dedicated archers can get some quality supplies. The rang behind the store is well kept and fairly spacious. The employees definitely knew what they are talking about.
Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to going back again.

Small new business that I must show love. Wasting arrows is a great plan for a night out. Its an arrows shooting spot with 10 lanes and bows to rent.
You will shoot up to 7 arrows, once everyone in their lane has shot all their arrows the group is allowed to retrieve their arrows.
The employees are nice; only two employees were working the day I visited this spot and all ten lanes were filled. You are charged based on time.
The parking situation is tight as there aren’t a lot of spaces. Other than that I say give them a try.

This place is awesome and just about as much fun as you could want to have! Deana runs an UH-​MAY-​ZING place and made sure that us veterans knew just how much we were appreciated by giving back a large portion of our cost to an amazing veteran organization that I work for. Truly a class act… AND I got to learn that I can shoot a zombie in the face from 25 yards… PRICELESS! I will most certainly be coming back!

Went here with my girl friend a couple weekends ago, super friendly and helpful staff. We want to start getting into bow hunting and so we had a deal on Groupon to come here, will recommend to anyone. Will be back.

Came here on a corporate Team Building activity type deal. To be honest, I was not looking forward to it. I’m not sporty/​athletic, and the pressure of being accurate weighed heavy on me. But, I also like trying new things, and this would be as good a time as any to try bow-​and-​arrowing.
So…the staff there were very welcoming and they were patient during the process of checking in around 70 employees, most of which were like me, first timers to this place. The instructions were more stressful to listen to than actually doing it. I was starting to panic as I was listening to the type of mishaps I could have if I don’t do this right. But once I got to try it and actually did what I was supposed to do, I felt better. I didn’t actually hit the marks, but at least the arrows went to the right direction. And I think on my 12^th or 13^th try, I finally hit the target. The point is… if I can do it, so can anyone. Was it fun? Yes, if you don’t care that you hit the target or not. Overall, I’m glad I tried it.

I had an awesome lesson at Wasting Arrows! The instructor (Connor) was really engaging, and he gave me some great advice on form. Thanks to the lesson, I was able to add 5#‘s to my draw weight, and I’m shooting much better groups. I“ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in the Reno area!

How did I not know about this place sooner??? Wasting Arrows has been open for about three years now and I had no idea! I would recommend some killer advertisement to get place known to local Renoites! In the past week, Wasting Arrows, was recommended twice to me. My boyfriend and I, purchased a local Groupon for this place, and I am sure glad that we bought it. We enjoyed an adventurous day date here. So fun!
The Groupon included a brief tutorial and a hour long session time. It came to about 20 dollars each for two people. We saved a little bit of money by buying the Groupon, although it seemed to be reasonable pricing without the local deal. We were greeted at the door and the guy at the counter was very friendly. He helped us pick out our bows. I was able to pick out any color compound bow that I liked. He adjusted the bow according to my height. Then he helped Bryan pick out a recurve bow that was more suitable for his body type. Once we entered into the main room, Jayme gave us a brief tutorial on: how to shoot the bow, grip, where to place our fingers stance, and the different whistle signals. At first I was shooting all of my arrows super high. Jayme was very patient and answered all of my questions to help me achieve a better shot.
I loved that we came on a Sunday. Luckily there were not a lot of people, which meant more space for us! We practically had the whole place to ourselves. I am curious to see how packed it is on a weeknight or on a Saturday. When we were finished and about to leave, they helped us take down our targets. I can not wait to come back to shoot again. :)

My girlfriend and I had a great time expressing our inner archer at Wasting Arrows. We bought a groupon for an hour of shooting time, a bow and arrow rental and a lesson. We came into the store as complete novices. Once we signed a waiver we were given the choice of bow to use. My girlfriend chose a purple compound bow that’s good for beginners and easy to pull back. I used a more traditional looking recurve bow because of the longer draw length. Jayme was running the range and gave us our lesson. The lesson taught us how to hold the bow, put the arrow on and how to shoot. They also told us the range commands and how to be on the range safely. It would have been nice if the lesson was a little more in depth but whenever we had questions or problems Jayme was there to help. I think Wasting Arrows needs to work on their advertising a bit more. A billboard somewhere along the highway or a local tv commercial would definitely benefit the company. We went on a Sunday afternoon and we had the range mostly to ourselves, which was very nice. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be back again with some friends. so we can get on the level of Robin Hood, Rambo, Green Arrow, Legolas, Katniss, and Hawkeye.

I have been going here for about 15 months. I have continuously done the league nights, taken my son to JOAD classes and routinely shoot at least once a week. The people here are top notch and will do what ever it takes to help you learn the sport of archery. I have not had a bad experience with any staff member. They are helpful and never say «no» — and I can be quite needy sometimes. They have been patient with my 8 yr old son and, while it took a little coaxing, he loves to shoot now.
To Jeremy M. whose review of the intro league was less than stellar. I am sorry you felt the league was unfair — I don’t think you understood the mechanics of scoring in the leagues. They are handicapped so that everyone does have a chance — especially if you get better as you go. I have been doing the intro league since February 2014. To me I am still a beginner, but I have gotten a lot better and bought better equipment along the way. I am also one of the ones who went The Vegas Shoot (along with about 2600 other people from around the world.) If you take the time to look up that national tournament scores you will see that it is organized so that many people can place and win money — including beginners. Even the staff member who shot and placed in Vegas did not win the intro league. I would hope you would give it another chance — there are many great people who do the leagues and I have made some amazing friends who have also helped me with my archery skills.
Life isn’t always about winning — it’s about not giving up and giving it your best. I believe Wasting Arrows helps to instill this philosophy in me and my son. We are hooked!

Great place to go and learn or practice archery! They are all very helpful, prices are reasonable. Very clean and well kept, you can bring your own bow or they have a few options on renting them. Enjoy!

This place is awesome! I have been into archery for a long time now, reaffirmed with the Hunger Games. I know some die-​hard archery enthusiasts may not be excited by that, but there it is. I had been meaning to try this place out since I heard it opened and so my boyfriend and I went in. Not only was the price fair but the staff incredibly helpful. They not only taught the procedure they use for safety, but simple tips to improve our techniques and accuracy as well. It was so much fun, my arms and my fingers were incredibly sore. Worth it!

Came here with a friend after not having shot since elementary school. Lots of fun! I know nothing about bows, condition of equipment etc, so it all seemed fine to a complete amateur. It was quick to get instruction and get started.
The only comment as another poster alluded to was the gradual lack of whistleblowing as the hour went on and it got closer to closing time. The last fifteen minutes nobody was blowing the whistle and all the shooters took it on themselves to say «clear» and «ready to shoot.»

Many months ago I purchased 4 Living Social deals to Wasting Arrows for 1 hour of range time and a bow rental.
We finally got our schedules together and decided on July 3^rd for our range time. My wife called ahead and they were more than willing to accommodate our group and preferred time.
The four of us found the location easily, checked in easily and began our instruction all within 10 or so minutes. The owner wound up giving us our crash course introduction. As an avid archery student at summer camp many many years ago I was quite excited for this little double date day. I think the last time I did this I was 11 or 12.
The instruction was brief but enough to get us started. The owner watched us shoot and then moved onto the next person and instructed and watched them shoot.
The hour of range time started after the instruction was given.
There are whistle signals that provide instruction for shooting, fetching arrows, etc. The whistle signal importance was stressed at the start of the instruction and hour session but as the hour progressed the business owner and employees seem otherwise engaged and the whistle protocol was ignored or delayed for a large portion of time. I was concerned that when you stress protocol of something and then it becomes lax or completely ignored.
My group and I enjoyed our experience and would go back. At a price point of $ 20 /​hour with rental of the bow it would be worth returning. It was nice to revisit my youth for an hour!

I was in last week with my family, we were celebrating birthdays. We were cheerfully greeted and bows were adjusted to each of us. We then were taken in to the shooting range. We were told the rules and the whistle signals were explained. We then got to shoot. Everyone had a good time, and we had some laughs when one of our party kept hitting the floor! I did pretty good, I actually hit the bulls eye three times! The only thing that I wish was different was I wish that there was some basic instruction on how to aim. I had fun and hope to be able to come back some time.

While I won’t be changing my star rating as this is/​was based upon my initial experience, I do want to add that the owner of the company contacted me and offered to have me come back in free of charge. I will freely admit that while I have respect for them in the fact that they stand behind their product and services, it does not change my initial experience.
Lastly, while I don’t expect rental equipment to be at ‘competition standards’ (I never stated that’s what I expected) and I’ll have to disagree about the string information, I do not feel it’s worth arguing about.
I encourage anyone/​everyone to see the place for themselves, and hopefully, I just caught them on an off night. Archery is a beautiful sport that requires skill and dedication and it’s great that there’s now somewhere in town for people to go.
