The place is neat and quaint. Need to try the tea time. Wanted to get into yoga so I went and tried the place out. The atmosphere that was received was not welcoming at all. The lady at the desk did not make me feel that I had chose a great or even good place to do yoga. Of all things she ended up being the class I was tryings instructor. The class itself was a good yoga class but there still was not a welcoming vibe from the instructor. This place was not for me. I’ll have to check out other yoga facilities.

Came here for a tea night and it was amazing!!! Such a nice studio. I didn’t take any yoga classes but I have heard the instructors are really wonderful…

I fixed a massage at short notice with Julia. I identified the aches and pains where I had problems and she was very attentive and powerful, and made a big difference. Definitely to be recommended!

Hot Bhakti Inspired Vinyasa with Mekala was by far the best yoga class I have ever been to! The room temperature was just the right temperature to make you sweat but so you can still breath. Her routine calenged me in all the right ways. I left feeling so recharged. Im definitely hooked! See you all again soon!

The massage therapist, Julia, she is wonderful. She goes above and beyond for her clients, she does anything that you ask her for a fair price. She gives you discount if you book couple sessions with her and she is very nice.

I did my teacher training at The Studio with Angie Fraley. I can’t even begin to put into words how life changing this has been for me. I was so afraid to even step into The Studio, as I was a home yoga practitioner. The space now feels like home. Angie and the other instructors(Johanna is amazing!) are so kind, well learned, and patient. They are always there to answer your questions, and the classes never disappoint. The energy there is soothing, and full of love and light. If you are looking for a Yoga Studio, then The Studio is the place to go. I am blessed to have found a home away from home, and a great community of people.

My second ever yoga experience was a Heated Vinyasa session and hot damn! The room was heated to 95 degrees and, wow, I sweat from places I did not know existed. My toes were sweating. It was intense. I am incredibly surprised I didn’t pass out and/or humiliate myself in some way. I actually hung in for most of the moves. A real trooper. During the cool down, as I laid, staring at the sweat dripping from the armpit hair of the man next to me, I felt a real sense of calm, belonging, awareness. I felt zen. I felt like a yoga person. I think I will be returning to The Studio. I like the unpretentiousness, the vibe. If you care to read the unabridged, uncensored experience, check out my blog:

Great staff. Great facility. Great clients. Good times. Began with a trial Groupon and ended up staying for a long time. I always feel good in this place and after I leave. Thank you.

I’ve only been here twice. So far, I really like the space. I got a groupon here as a gift. I expect that I will get my own actual membership.

I love The Studio. Great atmosphere and perfect vinyasa flow classes. My only compliant is that it can get quite crowded. Perhaps limiting class enrollment would help. Otherwise, its awesome!

Love the studio! Be sure to check out Angie’s hot yoga class on Mondays and Wednesdays. She has a different theme each week and puts a lot of thought into her classes. She works with the mind as much as the body with an underlying theme of «think less, feel more». Want to deepen your practice? She also offers teacher training classes.

Really enjoyed my class. I called up, asked if I could drop in and I picked the next available flow class and what a great group. There are two studios and ample common area while waiting. Very approachable and nice staff. Highly recommend this place.

I got a massage from Julie. This was not your regular Reno massage. Julie uses forearms, knees, elbows, and used a combination of techniques(deep tissue, hot stones, and stretching). This was truly a great massage! I would highly recommend her and go back. The studio has a nice vibe as well, large room for the massage and massage table is heated and padded. Julie’s got it down, a little less talk and a lot more action!

Yet another great alternative workout! I love, love, love Yoga, and this place is perfect. Walking up the small staircase to the door at the top, I had my doubts. Yet all my concerns were erased the moment I took my shoes off and walked in. The room you walk into is larger than expected, calm and beautiful. It smells like essential oils and they play calming music. It’s an instant transportation from the busy city life of Reno, to a tranquil and serene atmosphere. The Yoga instructors are sweet, kindhearted people. They do not judge you if you attend a class slightly above your level and cannot keep up… Err… No! That didn’t happen to me… They encourage you to do your best and even include ways to take strain off of the higher level poses for the… Err…people who can’t keep up… without interrupting the class to help you or single you out. They’ll simply say right along with their lessons, «…And if this is too much, you can do this…» I absolutely love Sunday night meditation yoga. This class focuses on resting and relaxing into poses, rather than trying to go through many poses quickly. As you’re settled into the most poses which can only be described as the feeling of pure heaven, the instructor comes by with essential oils for you to smell, rubbing some of them on your neck… I mean really people, what could be better than that… because I just can’t imagine anything better in a Yoga studio! They accommodate you, they treat everyone the same and they care. You can just tell.

I attended a beginner yoga class as part of a Unilocal event. The room is large, and warm, but not uncomfortably so(we’ll see in the summer!). The instructor knew she had a group of mixed skill levels, and did a great job giving a nice variety of poses, and offering advanced and scaled down versions of each. At the end of a class, there is a final meditation where the instructor comes around to each person putting so essential oil in the palm of your hand. A nice touch to take with you as you continue your day… and might I suggest that you continue your day downstairs at the awesome little restaurant The Seed!

I visited The Studio last night for the first time. I’ve been to a number of yoga places in town, and The Studio is without a doubt my new favorite. When you first walk in, you enter a zen sanctuary-like room. Everyone I encountered was friendly and chipper, which are just my kind of folk. I spoke a bit with the owner, Rachelle, who was amazing. Great attitude, down to earth, and intelligent. The cubbies for your personal items are located directly in front of the front desk, which made me feel comfortable leaving car keys and a wallet. The yoga room I took my class in was fairly small, but comfortable. No migraine-inducing florescent lights, which is huge to me. The instructor seemed very friendly and knowledgeable – definitely a no judgement zone with her in there. I happen to be a hot yoga lovin’ kinda gal, but I understand it’s not for everyone. I took a non-hot yoga class yesterday, but because there were so many windows with the sun beating in, it felt like a hot yoga class. I loved it, but it’s something to note for those who prefer a cool room. If that’s you, take a night class or see if the other yoga room at The Studio doesn’t have windows. All in all, a great experience. I’m going back for my second class tonight!

I’ve heard great things about The Studio and finally got a chance to check it out today. I love The Studio’s cozy vibe. The warm, dimly-lit becouched lobby feels like you’re walking into your hippie friend’s house, not a business. It’s inviting and comfortable. I settled right in and felt at home. The owner, Rachelle, is down to earth and friendly. Her wonderful, well-behaved, and charming pit bull«Chevy» can be found roaming the area and distributing genuine affection to any humans in a five-foot radius. More business owners should bring their pooches to work — it puts a smile on my face. The class I took was for beginners. It was held in a pleasantly-trapezoidally-shaped room. The class focused on flexibility and calmness. The only thing I didn’t like about the room is that it didn’t have mirrors on the walls. I use mirrors to make sure my form is good and to keep my balance during the more athletic poses. I am not sure if their other yoga rooms have mirrors, but that’s just my preference. I had some neck pain when I woke up this morning; I must have slept in a strange position and pinched a nerve. After the class, my neck didn’t hurt any more! I walked out of the class feeling refreshed and pain-free. I’ll be back for sure!

I would like to start by saying that I really like the space, the instructors, and the yoga taught here. However, almost every class I’ve been to has been so crowded, making it hard to move freely through the postures without coming in contact with your neighbor. My friend left this studio for this very reason. I understand they are becoming more popular but they don’t seem to cap the classes enough(or at all). Also, the floors don’t seem to be kept as clean as they could, especially with so many of the classes being heated, resulting in lots of sweat from all the people. If they capped their classes at 30 and did a quick floor mop after every class, it would be much more enjoyable.

The last review I wrote for The Studio pertained primarily to the food. So, I figured I should update with a review on their yoga classes and massage… which are both Awesome! I have been attending classes at The Studio regularly for about a year now and I just cannot say enough. They are amazing! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and kind. There are also a wide range of different types of yoga you can practice to work different mussel groups, different breathing techniques and find your perfect practice… from Yin, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Hatha, warm classes, hot classes and so much more. I just love it! Oh and their classes start at 5:30am and go until around 7:30pm so you really don’t have an excuse. LOL! When your mussels are feeling sore or you just need some extra love you can have an amazing massage there as well! I’ve had several and it’s the real deal body work massages… not those wax on wax off type massages. Afterward you can enjoy a cool coconut and yummy raw vegan lunch downstairs at The Seed, an extension of The Studio. Incredible! If you haven’t tried it, you’re just not listening! …Namaste!

I have been practicing yoga here for maybe four to six months, and love it. Since starting my yoga practice in 2006, I have been to several other yoga studios in Reno and Northern California. This is one of my favorite studios. The perks! First, I really love that a lot of young people hang out here, young people who are into yoga none the less. The atmosphere of this studio is reminiscent of a someplace that would be in Portland. That’s saying a lot — we are in Reno here, people. There are usually little oranges for a snack before class. Be sure and help yourself to a mug of free lose leaf tea! I love how there is a variety of classes throughout the day. There truly is a class(es) for every body. The teachers are always welcoming and willing to modify any poses, so don’t be afraid! :-) The scan keychain card and website make it super easy to pay for yoga, sign up for classes and view their schedule. I have yet to try the raw food/juice bar, but I really need to get on that. They customize the menu each day, and their food sounds super duper healthy. Again, I must remind everyone, we are in Reno and now have a raw food café. Need I say more? I feel like I am a lost soul living in conservative central city or something. It’s really nice to be able to come here and get a good daily dose of all things hippie. There isn’t much I don’t like about this studio. The fans that come on are sometimes a nuisance, but I think that’s really part of my practice and accepting the present moment as it is. Everything is perfect, just as it is, right? Right!
