The Beach Pool and Cabanas

We enjoyed our short time here at the Beach Pool. We came to swim in the morning when it wasn’t as crowded with all the kiddos. I’m sure it can get quite crowded during the latter part of the day.
It’s one gigantic, massive, pool, with lots of little inlets. There’s a huge hot tub along with a bar with cocktail waitresses constantly coming by to check on your thirst. There are several lifeguards on duty.
There are no outside drink or food allowed and they will check your bags as you enter the pool area. They are open til 11 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends. Unfortunately, on our first night, they closed it early due to lightening strikes. There’s also a VIP Cabana for rent in which you rent in four hour blocks for $ 100 M-​TH. $ 250 F-​Sun.
You don’t have to be a guest staying at the hotel either. The Beach is open to the locals for $ 10 M-​Th, and $ 15 F-​Sun.

I love lounging out by the pool on a hot day or on the colder days dipping into the huge hot tube. But what’s better then those? THE BAR! Great drinks!!! Highly recommend the rockstar lemonade and bomb pop.

The pool itself is great, the layout was nice with great drinks. The issue is the amount of children in the pool area at night. Wife and I went down to the pool to use the hottub at nigh (after 10:00 on a friday and saturday) and it looked like a daycare. There was no place for adults to have a drink and relax.

Such a fun place to hang out. Really cool atmosphere. They have sand around the chairs and cabanas and the VIP cabanas have Tv’s and mini fridges. The pool bar had decently priced drinks and they had Tv’s to watch the World Cup game. I will be back for sure probably the best pool in all of Reno !

I’m a local and love having the option to use the pool for a fee, but I agree with previous posts… if I’m paying $ 15 I’d like a chair that isn’t broken, heck a chair period most times they are scarce! The VIPs take them to their area. I tried ordering a drink from a cocktail waitress, went to the bar got my drink sat and watched the World Cup for awhile cooled off went back 10 minutes later my drink came? I told her to late…
Not having good music sucks… and I must say I enjoyed it more when it was adults only Sundays… it’s kids galore which I get especially as a hotel guest but balls winging by my head, kids diving jumping splashing is a lot when you just wanna relax and cool off… the tiki bar and misting system w TVs is good fun!
I’ll still continue to come, kids n all.

OK, gotta admit that although the GSR is what it is, I was actually pretty impressed with the Beach.
It seemed like it was never too overly crowded during most of my visits, and was set up in a way where your room number was verified before they allowed you access. Always good seeing a certain degree of security around, as I recall having visits to other Reno pools that seemed like a mecca for the shadies that had no place else to go. The beach sand was a nice touch, being a surfer and all. The music was never really overbearing like was at the bowling center. Never got a chance to check out the bar or poolside beverage/​food service, but I usually avoid those anyway.
There appeared to be a volleyball court with a net set up at times. Not sure if there was a rental charge to use it or not. The cabanas definitely didn’t look like they would be worth paying for, but might be worth checking out if comped. I never had a problem snagging a mainstream lounge chair, but some padding on them would’ve been nice, because sitting on boiling hot plastic in the middle of summer burns your ass.
The best feature in my eye was definitely the hot tub — huge, round, built in seating, and a huge fountain in the middle. The positioning of it was a great spot to catch the afternoon sun, and more often than not, the breezes would cause the fountain to spray you head on.
I think the place turns into a party spot at night during peak season. Fortunately, I never had any issues with noise.
I recall one visit when a rather disinterested mom was letting her not so young kids run around naked for hours while the staff didn’t even bat an eye amid the dozens of horrifically shocked looking guests, but other than that, no complaints really.

Has a sand Volleyball court. Jacuzzi. Towel Service.
Apparently they have the better pool party after Burning man ends. 2 days of DJ, 12 noon-​6pm. Premium Vodka and 7 is $ 9. they don’t serve red bull :(
The Pool was really clean then after the revelers got down in it. it was rather dirty.

It is always fun to hangout here. But most of the time that we are here we don’t just jump right in the pool but we usually play beach volleyball first then go swim after. It is also expected that during summer it can go crazy here since everyone just wanted to hangout her and get drunk. It can really be crowded most of the time. Night time is always good since lesser people hangouts there. Fridays and Saturdays the pool area is open till midnight which gives you extra time to just chill at the jacuzzi! I am happy also that the jacuzzi is only open to people who are 18 and over which gives us adults more space when not super busy… and don’t forget the bar by the pool which serves good drinks!!!

I love this pool. The pool is large and clean. It is heated and one of the only outdoor pools in Reno that stays open through October (as of this writing). The sandy beach is nice and the fully stocked bar is great. I give this pool only three stars because the poolside cocktail service SUCKS!!! As I write this my man and I are renting a cabana and have not had one single server stop by. There is a service button that we have pushed numerous times but no one shows up. We’ve had to go to the bar for every drink and request. The servers are standing around at the bar bitching about changes that the GSR is going to implement. Hopefully they will bring in new servers. I am writing this on a Monday! A fucking Monday! There is no one here, the place is dead, yet they continue to stand around and serve everyone but us. We don’t stink so I do not know what is wrong.
