Stremmel Gallery was founded in 1969 as a fine art gallery specializing in contemporary paintings, drawings and sculpture by mid-​career and established American and European artists. Located in a 6500 sq. ft. architecturally award-​winning building in Reno’s Midtown District, Stremmel Gallery offers a wide range of amenities including painting restoration, commercial and residential installations, warehousing of fine art, and resale or direct purchase of single pieces or entire collections of important contemporary and modern work. Stremmel Gallery Frame Shop is a resource for museum quality conservation framing of the highest standards; from contemporary to period-​style hand carved gold leaf frames.

Turkey Stremmel is the Gallery Director and curator of exhibitions at Stremmel Gallery. In addition, she is a qualified restorer, working with various artwork, ranging from oils to watercolors to sculpture.

Turkey Stremmel not only runs a beautiful gallery with her husband, but she also restores artwork. I help to maintain a rental home in Truckee, and we had a large painting that became damaged and stained. Turkey and her team did an excellent job of repairing the tear in the canvas, painting over the stain, and cleaning the entire piece. The result is unbelievable! I can’t find evidence of the tear, nor the staining. It’s almost like it never happened. The painting is once again bright and beautiful.

Such a lovely gallery!
They had some great paintings of North Beach SF and some beautiful modern art pieces.
Also, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about what was on display.

This is a great gallery. Most of the work is beyond my price range, but I like the mix and it has exposed me to artists that I would not have otherwise known about.
The staff here are always cordial and allow you to wander and look at your leisure without hovering. I always feel welcome here. Ah, maybe someday I will have the income to buy a piece or art. Until then, I am happy that they just let me come and look.

This is a nice gallery that showcases the lesser known artist and also some more know artists. There is no admission, as it it not a «museum,» but a gallery. I liked the different pieces of different medias that they had, none of them were in my taste, but they were definitely worth looking at.

Ok, for what it is this gallery is pretty entertaining and there were definitely pieces of highlights in the gallery where I think to myself … well if I had a million dollars I could spend $ 4,500 on this small little oil painting here that’s very unique. However, most of this gallery was a little on the bare side and it was very, very expensive for the kind of work that they held.
I believe this is definitely a fun place to visit, but what it contains looks more like it belongs in a Modern Art museum than a gallery for purchase.
