This place is a little old and dark inside as another Unilocaler noted. The main reason I go here is because it is a great place to grab just a few things and get out. Their deli has fresh ground beef hamburgers that have bacon, cheddar or blue cheese already in the patty. They were $ 5.99 lb but we bought a bacon one and a blue cheese one and they were really good! Prices throughout the store are a bit high, I’m used to shopping at Winco. The Wells Fargo inside is also super convenient and has better than your normal(9 – 5) bank hours.

I really like this store and have for many years. I’m a personal Chef here in town and have special needs for my customers. The people at Scolari’s are always willing to help me. The meat department is very helpful and willing to cut meat the way I like it. I hope this store will be around for many years to come.

Scolari’s is always very clean and has a good selection of pretty much everything a traditional grocery store should have. I like especially the produce selection and quality as well as the large liquor and beer selection. I’m not sure where the comment on insufficient lighting came from, it has always looked really brightly lit to me. Also, I am giving this store one extra star because they stock the Heineken AND the NewCastle Draught keg Kegerators which fit in the home tap Krups Beertender dispenser system. I don’t find the Draught kegs in too many stores but this Scolari’s has both. Nice.

They’re open late. The RedBox is inside. Ton’s of parking. In & Out is right across the street. Convenient. I only buy the precut watermelon’s there when I get in a movie night mood. They are always sweet!

I remember when Scolaris #20 opened years ago in the late 80s, and it quickly became«the pink Scolaris». While I still visit the store at least monthly, it’s no longer in my neighborhood, and I have to go out of my way to get there. It’s typically very clean, and I think the produce department looks great. The cashiers, bakery, and pharmacy staff are very friendly and helpful. The same folks seem to have worked there for many years, and to me that’s a sign of a good place to work. A few products I go there especially to buy are as follows. 1. 3″ double-sided bamboo skewers. These work way better than any wooden toothpick, and I’ve never found another place to get them. They’re in the baking aisle. 2. Sirloin tip roast. This is the best cut of meat to use in a Stroganoff if you don’t want to use stew meat, and they always have it. The other supermarkets are hit and miss, and wally-world/MalWart never seems to have it. 3. Large size Colemans English mustard powder. Other stores have Colemans but not in the large 4oz size. I love this stuff for homemade salad dressings and go through it quite quickly. 4. Roasted sesame seeds. Somehow sesame seeds are terribly expensive in the spice isle at any store, but Scolaris has an 8oz jar in the Oriental department that’s around $ 5. 5. Sammy Smith’s beers in the cooler. I use the Oatmeal Stout more in cooking than to drink, and I sure enjoy drinking what I didn’t add to my stew/strog. The Nut Brown Ale is delicious too – one of my top 5 fav beers. Now that I’m not drinking anymore, I miss it. I had Fresh Express’ BLT Caesar salad kit on my list above, but apparently Scolari’s no longer carries or Fresh Express no longer offers the BLT Caesar. Too bad.
