This Port of Subs has the most unprofessional atmosphere of any chain restaurant I have ever visited. There is usually stand up or some sort of music that isn’t appropriate to play for public ears. The last time I was in there the staff were on a laptop watching Animé. Loud enough to draw everyone’s attention to it. The«décor» is very odd also.

Service is so slow every time I go in. I only have 30 min to eat and when it takes 15 min to make a sandwich when I’m the only one in line is just ridiculous.

I like this place, they all seem happy and nice every time we go in. The owner is always friendly and jokes around with us everytime we are in. It’s not high end but basic and clean. I like it here, I prefer it way over the subway across the street. It’s always fresh and taste great :)

This is the Port of Subs closest to my house. In the last couple years it has really gone down hill. I will say that the sandwiches I ordered last week were all fine and tasted good, but I am so glad that you can see the whole process because this place is grubby. Right when you walk in, they keep a huge freezer in the lobby now. In the same area the staff clearly uses that space as their break area. Newspaper, cups, sandwich wrappers, etc. are all over that one table. The floors look like they haven’t been swept in a week and certainly not mopped in probably 6 months. And it only gets worse as you look around. No pride of work or a cleanly store. The paint and walls are all rundown and most tables aren’t clean. Factor in that I didn’t go in during a rush and it only gets worse. Only giving 2 stars because the sandwich still tasted good. The owners should definitely pay a visit here.

First time EVER going to port of subs. We ordered the 6 ft party sub for our super bowl party, and it was wonderful. They had it ready to go when we got there and very friendly staff. Definitely going back.

I work close to this port of subs and yesterday was the first time I visited in a very long time(over 2 years). As many other have mentioned, the place is really run down. Front door doesn’t work properly, the over cleanliness is not up to par, especially for it being a chain restaurant, I expected a lot more than what I saw. The staff was just okay. Not good but not the worst, they seemed to be working to the best of there ability but lacked training, although they were really friendly they seemed under staffed(lunch hours). The food wasn’t bad, I got the hot pastrami griller everything was good up until it was place on the griller, it looked like something that had not been cleaned, EVER! it was really old and it had a bunch of old build up. Is this a place I would visit again? HIGHLYUNLIKELY!

Rude rude rude people working here. Slow distracted employees makes for a horrible ordering service. The only reason this isn’t getting a one star rating is because the food is still good, it is port of subs after all. Definitely the worst one in Reno, living in the north valleys there are few food options but I would not choose to go here again. Why can’t they get their act together? I have been here several times, the employees keep changing but the experiencing is either getting worse or not improving. Shut it down! There are plenty of decent sandwich places in town, including other port of subs. Hint: a distracted employee using a meat slicer = an employee missing the tip of their finger!

Worst Port of Subs in all of the Reno, Sparks, and surrounding areas. Maybe even the worst in the country. No joke! This place is extremely filthy and the type of dirty establishment that you get butterflies(not the good butterflies) before you eat. The overall cleanliness was absolutely horrible. I didn’t even want to touch the grease-lined counter near the register. Also, this is the most annoying staff in the history of restaurants. The young adults that are usually working just sit there and talk about how bad they don’t want to work and how they have better things to do, even though they don’t! As someone mentioned in other reviews: «disinterested». The food was not up to par with traditional Port of Sub sandwiches either. I ordered the promo«stacker» with double meat and cheese and they totally gypped me on both. Bread was dry and toppings were like warm when they should be cold and crisp. Hopefully Management(if they even care) sees this post because it’s the truth. Been there 2 – 3 times now and it’s always the same. Seriously. Oh, and did I mention this place is filthy!!!

Cant really mess up a sandwich, but the service here is awful. Kids with all their friends hanging out. Wife and I stopped in once and were immediately uncomfortable by the amount of kids outside the doors smoking and inside sitting on tables. The people behind the counter were uninterested and taking to their friends the entire time. There’s a Subway across the street and another Port of Subs one Valley over, its say to say we will go to one of the other options next time instead of ruining the staff’s hangout time.

Never had any issues with the subs I’ve ordered from here. I mean how hard can it really be to mess up a sub? It’s close and convenient and the kids behind the counter seem to be halfway decent.

Went and got dinner last night from there. The two girls that were working did a great job. When I first got inside there was only one person ahead of me ordering sandwiches. Not even 5 minutes later there was a line to the door! The girls switched doing jobs because the younger girl wasn’t as fast as the other girl slicing the meat. They stayed calm and apologized that it was taking longer than excepted. They also chit chatted with customers. They got my order right and had no issues. In fact they even gave me extra points on my port of subs loyalty card! The place was cleaned and my sandwich was yummy. I will definitely come back to this location.

This is the closest POS(you can take that any way you want) to our house, and my husband stops there for sammies sometimes on the way home from work. ALWAYS, the service is slow, disinterested, and unfriendly. They never remember him, although he’s a regular, and they have a hard time getting the order right. We like Port of Subs sandwiches, but now, a Pizza Factory has opened up even closer to our home, so it’s more convenient, with better, cheaper sandwiches. Guess where we’ll be stopping from now on? Oh, and they have a friendly staff, who recognized my husband the second time he stopped in! I guess Port of Subs could take lessons in customer service!

First off, I like Port of Subs in general. With that said, I wish that I coud give this one up in Stead zero stars. I notice that there are some decent reviews on here, but those are from over a year ago. My experience was terrible and unacceptable. I got there, and saw a line of 5 people in front of me(two who had already had their sandwiches ready for the finishing touches. It still took over 20MINUTES to get my sandwich! The dopey looking kid who put the sandwiches together seemed to go intentionally slow, and he had a look on his face that screamed«I’m too cool for this». Well, you are not. He had that sort of frumpy, complete slacker vibe to him. I don’t kow if he was being trained, but lunch hour is not the time to train a super slow yokel. When I finally got my sandwich, I mentioned to the cashier that it is kind of ridiculous that it took over 20 minutes to get a sandwich, she half-heartedly apologized as she took my money. To make matters worse, the bread had that old and dry feel to it from when bread has sat out too long and has gotten stale. Maybe it was fresh when they started making the sandwich! If I owned this location, then I would be embarrassed to call it mine. i heard that the owner stopped spending time at their shop, and that the service has gone downhill since. As a note to the owner… you may want to make your presence known there again and clean house. I live in Reno, but work up in Stead. Even with the limited options here, this Port of Subs is scratched off of my list as a place to eat. There is a Subway down the street where they actually seem to care about their customers. This Port of Subs location is giving the good Port of Subs franchise a bad name. If this was my first experience at a Port of Subs, I would have written off the franchise on the spot. AVOIDTHISLOCATIONATALLCOSTS!!!

March 24, 2012 Saturday — dinner 7:45PM 2 adults Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Have not been here for years, just bag experiences in the past. This is the closest Port of Subs to my house Atmosphere — It feels older than most Port of Subs in the Reno/Sparks area. They need an update to match the rest. It was clean and probably a big seating area then most of Port of Subs. Food Appetizer — none order. Main Course — I had the #1 medium which is Ham, Salami, Capicolla, Pepperoni and Provolone Cheese. Love that Capicolla, which alone makes it worth the trip over Subway. My fiancé is a fan of the sour dough bread, I normal go with wheat, but I gave the sour dough bread a try and really liked theirs. I would love it if they would get Dutch Crunch as a bread choice. Dessert — none tonight, but they do have cookies. Service — Friendly and fast. The cashier was all about future sales with suggestions. The sub I ordered for my fiancé was also a #1 but I asked if could substitute one meat for another; she did not even hesitate to ask how I wanted it. She got it with the peppered pastrami instead of the ham. Future — I could see coming back after this visit.

Port of subs is pretty much standard across the board. This spot is conveniently located next door to a gas station and a McDonalds. So you can grab the kids something, fill up your tank, and get your sandwhich-on all in one place. Staff were nice, they were having a conversation when I entered, but once I was ready I became the center of attention. One of the employees even schooled me on port of subs lingo. When they ask if you want shakers that means, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, and aregano. FYI The turkey, bacon, alvacado sandwhich was pretty good. They have some really huge cookies and brownies at the register that looked really good. They were soft and I could smell them through the wrapper. Oh how I wanted to buy one of each and eat myself into a sugar coma. But today I was good.
