Another great beer adventure with Paul! Although I’m not a beer connoisseur(yet) it has been fascinating experiencing the different microbreweries — like being on a beer safari with surprises around every corner!

This was my first event with the group. I was excited because I’ve been trying to make one, but sometimes my hours don’t work well with the meetups. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but everyone in the group seemed great and I have good time. Can’t wait for Canfest!

WooHoo! I was finally able to make it to one of these events! I’ve been trying to get to them for the last few months but we were always out of town. We arrived just a little after 2PM(this place is hard to find, but thanks to the heads up from Paul and other Unilocalers, I was expecting that and looked for the signs) and had a tour of the brewery with Cody. We learned how they make their beers and what all the different equipment is for. Then we sampled beers until Stoneyhead closed down at 6PM. They have a small seating area up front with a few tables and then the bar. With three of us in our group, I think we sampled all of their beers and ended up buying a growler of their Honey Porter to take home. Not only do we collect growlers, but the price was pretty good at $ 23 for the growler with the beer. I love that they also allowed us to scribble on the wall — the Unilocal logo of course! I’m really looking forward to attending more of the Paul S’s Beer Club UYE’s in the future! We had a great time and even went out to dinner afterwards with fellow Unilocalers that we met at the event.

August 22, 2015 Saturday — 2PM for beer and a tour Bunch of Unilocalers Atmosphere — 5 stars Beer — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Time for the Beer Club to meet up again. Atmosphere — Stoneyhead is located in a business park, warehouse area really. A brewery does not need to be fancy. This place had a bar and a few tables, welcoming our group. Beer I think I started with their strongest beer; I had to try it as it was one I never had before. The Sneak Attack IPA aged oak barrels from Seven Troughs. Seven Troughs is one our local distilleries. Tom actually showed up during the tour, and I missed him then. Tom actually came back for more beer for the fundraiser he was doing and I got to meet him on that visit. Did you know the UYE Beer Club hit a distillery already? Service — Thanks to Cody for the tour of the place. It is always interesting to see how each brewery is set up differently and how they run their business. Future — Yeah I am looking forward to the next few UYE Beer Club events, okay the next three of them are already posted on the events page. Canfest, Reno Brew Bike, and Camp Richardson’s Oktoberfest up in South Lake Tahoe.

Paul s. a great job setting this event up as usual. The Directions were great and the setup was wonderful. Full disclosure, the business is owned by my ex husband, my son works there and our tour of the facility was conducted by my son Cody. I learned some things about the brewing process I did not know in a the process. While I think Cody did a wonderful job, my review of the event, not the brewery should not be the only one you should base an opinion from.

Woot woot! First to review! Great event — let me make my list + Awesome place I never never never would have found this place on my own. It is so far off my map it is almost in a parallel universe. + Super group of people. It was nice to see old friends and get to meet some new(for me) Unilocalers. The group was small but congenial + Tasty beers — I guess that is kind of the point. + Excellent service. Loved the fee tasting and the popcorn bowls were always full. Thanks Paul S for once again putting this all together. And thanks to the great folks at Stoney Head for being gracious hosts for the event. Only thing that is a negative is that we got there too late for the tour. Our fault completely.
