first time in and not impressed. They rush you through like cattle. The first guy started by removing my old polish and nicked my skin, so the other lady could hurry. Both people working on my nails were using their cell phones while working on my nails. The lady actually started talking in chinese to who ever was on her phone. If I did that at my job I would be canned so I find this unacceptable while working on a client. As far as the work, nothing special. Don’t think I will go back to this place.

So I glad I tried Ocean! Best mani-​pedi I have had in Reno! Jimmy was awesome.
Not only was the salon beautiful and soarkling clean, every employee was smiling and went out of their way to make sure I had a perfect experience.
So many special treats also– lavender mist, wonderful oils, hot stone leg massage… I could go on and on.
My heels have never been smoother and I found a new home for pampering .

Went for a complete pampering nail treatment with my girl friend for the first time last weekend. I was really impressed with their deco, cleanliness and professionalism. The owners were hands on who spent time talking to customers to get feedback. Definitely recommend this place.

This place is the best!!! So far I have not found better in Reno or Sparks. JJ and Ann did amazing on my husband and I. My husband has trouble with his feet and Ann was great. JJ was awesome and my French was great.

What a great experience! The techs were kind, funny and did an amazing job on my sister and I! We got the spa pedicures with gel Polish and our tootsies are beautiful now! We will DEFINITELY be coming back! Thank you very much!

JJ is amazing, he listened to what I wanted and my nails and toes turned out exactly as I invisioned! Ladies the man is amazing with those hot rocks during the pedi, hurry and go see him! This was my first time at Ocean Spa and the facility is beautiful and relaxing; everyone is super friendly!

Every time my daughter and myself come here we are treated wonderfully! We love the staff, the treatments and the fabulous atmosphere. We are so glad we have a place of such high quality to come to in Reno!

This place is awful. They clearly had NO IDEA how to do gel nails.
It took over two hours for them to do my nails. I watched an entire film while I was waiting for them to figure it out.
At the end, they charged for the gel nails AND in addition they charge for gel polish. I was «lucky» because they didn’t charge for the nail design, if you can call three chevron stripes a nail
One week later, I have FOUR broken nails. When I called to speak to a manager, a woman came on the line-​I was clear at how pissed I was that I paid $ 60 for this crap… and she hung up on me! When I called again the smart-​ass minion at the front desk had a solution for me… write a Unilocal review.
Stay far away from this crappy place. They could care less about their customer service. If I don’t get a refund, I’ll dispute the charge.

This was the worst nail experience I have ever had. Do not go here if you want gel nails done because they clearly have no idea what they are doing! Not only that, they overcharge for mediocre work. While the place was impressive when I first walked in, they clearly spent more money on the appearance of the place than on their technicians. Though he was polite enough, my technician clearly didn’t know how to do gel nails as it took him a full 2 hours to do them at 65 $ no less! And by the end of it my finger tips were firmly stuck to my nails. As I was waiting for my endless manicure to be over I couldn’t help but notice the cackling laughter coming from the break room which only confirmed the lack of professionalism that the management allows. I asked for some nail art just on my ring finger and he had to call over another technician who was already working on another client. While she did a decent job of the sunflower I wanted, it ended up chipping off a bit after the top coat was applied before it had completely dried. I wasn’t about to spend another minute in the chair so I just let it go. When I went to pay the overpriced amount two hours later, I was reminded of the $ 1 charge for using their credit card machine. Talk about nickel and dimeing! She must have read the look on my face because she immediately retracted the $ 1 charge for «being a new customer»
I left that place feeling guilty I had betrayed my regular technician, especially for such poor craftsmanship that took forever at an unheard of price.

I recently went in for a pedicure and saw Jennifer. She did such a great job that I have now found my new place to go whenever I’m in Reno.
Professional, clean, great atmosphere, what more could you ask for?

The place is pleasant but we prefer English speaking employees. I asked for really short nails on my nails (pedi) and went home and had to cut them myself. Won’t be going back…

Hands down the best nail job I’ve had in Reno. The place feels like a luxury spa and the workmanship was exquisite! :) I’ll totally be back! Oh, and they have so much space you can have a party.

Hmmmmmm what to say because I gave them a 5 star before.
First off I would even give them less if I could just rate the bro waxing… But lets start with the good and go from there.
Place is clean and the people are very nice and want to make sure you are happy and comfortable. Since winter is here I haven’t been back for about 6 mos. (Im a pedi kinda girl, no nails) I heard through the grapvien that their pips busted in Dec and they were having a re-​opening with 40% off all nail service… BINGO did I hear a discount… Called my Cuz up and we made it another girls day out. And we both thought that we would try getting our brows done… (10.00) Yup, now onto the not so warm and fizzy…
I went in first and barely laid down and she had the SCISSORS out first!!! (hey hey hey, even I know that’s not how you should start) But when one brow was already chopped, I had to go with the flow… She was nice and asked it the wax was to hot or the pulling hurt me but other then that THIS WAS A BUST. I got what I paid for. 10.00 for a job I went home and gave myself bangs to hide my brows. I even took before pics and after and just cant bring myself to post them. I got up from the chair and told my cuz, «tell her no scissors and just ask for a clean up» Really I looked once in the mirror when she was done and didn’t look again until the next morning until I gave myself bangs.
Will I go back, yes… but just to get my pedis…

I love this place. Frank is very attentive and does a great job on nails, I had the «jelly» pedicure and it was amazing. I’m so sorry that this new business experienced water damage and will be closed for another few weeks, but I will be a loyal customer once they re-​open!

Have to say that although I am not looking for a new place to get my hands and feet done, I really enjoyed my pedi by Ann today. It was a birthday gift from my daughter who loves Jimmy (Ann’s husband) for her pedis. Went for a deluxe pedi ($ 38) had a great leg massage with scrub, oils and hot towels… truly why you go for a pedicure in the first place.
The place is new and clean. Loved that they had individually wrapped sterilized manicure sets for each customer. Massage chairs are always a plus, and they line the foot bowls with plastic for each customer. So cleanliness is apparently important to them. Because it’s certainly high on my list.
We had appointments, but looks like they take walk-​in as well. Would definitely recommend them. And while I am happy with Cindy at Rhapsody, if I were desperate and couldn’t get to her, I’d certainly come back here.

So, I have been seeing this nail salon as I drive by each day thinking I would go. Today was the day. Celebrating my daughter’s straight A report card. We both got a mani and pedi.
This place is so clean, comfortable, professional and most importantly, very friendly.
There are so many choices from the wide variety of nail color to what you offered to drink, I chose white wine !! But seriously we spent a lovely afternoon being beautified. I would highly recommended Ocean Spa for a great nail experience with Ann and Diane !

I finally made a visit to the newly opened Ocean Nail & Spa this past week, and I am impressed! I believe this will be my new go-​to nail spa from now on.
I arrived about an hour prior to closing this past week, so there was no wait. Frank was at the front and helped me decide on which gel mani to have. He was a pleasure talking to and let me take my time deciding on a color. They have thousands of colors to choose from! I went with a deep, red wine color that I already had in mind going in. I chose color ‘V175’ for anyone’s reference. Picture attached.
Lindsay was my nail tech and she was nice to talk with while she did my mani. I commented that my nails are so tiny (I have small baby-​like hands, really!) and we laughed at how it’s a little challenging for nail techs to be so precise in painting them. She took her time and they turned out great. I had a minor cuticle cut prior to going in, so the antiseptic made it a bit irritated, but other than that there was no ripping or tearing at my cuticles unlike other places. She was gentle yet thorough in her technique. I hate when techs are harsh and rushing, but there was none of that here, which I appreciate.
The other techs who didn’t have clients were sweeping and constantly cleaning. It looked very clean and well-​kept inside. My tech’s nail tools came inside a sealed, sanitized pouch. I’d never seen that anywhere where I’ve been in the past!
The interior of the spa had fish tanks (duh, Ocean!) and neon lighting that gave it almost an 80’s vibe in a way. It was much larger than I had imagined. They had large TVs and many mani /​pedi stations along the perimeter of the salon. I felt the $ 30 gel mani price was fine, but I’d like to see just how long it will last to determine the quality. So far, so good and I haven’t been careful with my hands! I’ve received compliments on the color and have already referred other’s to visit.
I’ll be returning here when I’m due for another mani and will check out the many options for pedicures they offer as well!
