Kind and thoughtful. Dr Berman is very understanding and compassionate. He and his staff have helped me from the wheel chair to my feet! Also, Billie is a genuine blessing!

I’ve been going to this office for many years. Yes I admit I had some problems in the past, but I got them resolved and I get great attention and care now. Beth, Julie, and Doc Berman are really compassionate and good at their jobs. I see them often and eventho they aren’t in my preferred providers for my insurance, I don’t pay too much. They pay close attention to my condition and give me the help I need.

Quite possibly the worst customer service EVER! The lady today told me no I didn’t get your message(I’ve left 4 in the past day) and no I can’t get you in today, if your in that much pain go to the ER! I’ve spent thousands of dollars here over the past year dealing with back pain and still no answers!

My wife has MS and I was in a multi car accident which a Sheriff Dept was involved and I have the last 10 years of my medical doc’s to hand over etc. I have had all the mri’s, shock tests, needle injections and trigger points blah… I understand there are people who lie and do stupid things but I wouldn’t have a needle shoved in my spine for pills and the pills don’t work to start and after 10 years they don’t get you high. I checked this place out because my wife went there and wouldn’t life be a tad better if we could get synced etc. The other reason is the people I see now would rather go up in drug class than use more than 4 percocets or 4 norco’s a day and I don’t want to be on the fentanyl patch. Well I go in and don’t lie and I was sent by my pcp and everything legit because I am not like that. The Doctor saw me a whole 4 mins and said I need to check into the detox center because I am on overdose levels of Oxy and I am on 4 perc’s. He would not say anything other than inpatient detox and I was confused and thought maybe my chart was messed up etc. I said ok say if I do this then what can we do? and his only answer was detox and if they had something that would work then I am game but detox for what… He was rude and told me I would die in a year and besides my weight I am healthy. Even with weight my labs show I am good on everything. I would like to lose the weight but with l3 l4 l5 back pain its hard. So I am treated like a burnt out druggie that takes 4 percs a day for 10 years. No treatment plan or options. No care in the world and I am sure seeing me stand up was good enough to tell I was faking it but some how I must have faked the nerve tests too… The best part is they use that BS lab and I think they own part or something because they over bill and per their contract they must send it to a real lab thats in network. The best part is they had me sitting in the room for 45 min to tell me I am full of crap and then they sent in a huge bill to my INS and I turned them in and told them no it was not 45 min FACE to FACE and it was 4 min. These type of Doctors are no better than the pill junkies. They never help people and they treat them like crap and use them as a billing machine to add trigger points and other useless crap.

I cannot give this practice enough stars! I made an appointment as soon as I moved back to Reno. I was going in «blind» since I just had to use my liimited knowledge of medicine and read through their website to check out the qualifications of their three Pain Specialists(Board Certified Anesthesiologist), their Physician Assistants and try to get as much information prior to making an appointment… Anyone who doesn’t do their due diligence prior to seeing ANY health care practitioner has only themselves to blame if they don’t get the care they feel they deserve. I have always had trouble managing my chronic pain, and cannot tolerate oral pain meds. I saw Dr. Steven Berman for my initial consultation and evaluation. He spent nearly an hour with me going over my history, failed attempts with meds, and offered up many choices. Not once did he come across as condescending and he took the time to listen. I see his PA-C, Pam Hassler, once a month and she is wonderful! She takes the time to really try and find medications I can tolerate, She realizes that patients tend to know their own bodies more than a practitioner. She is open to suggestions from me. Of course she has the right to make the final decision. I respect and understand that with her and in return she respects my needs. ‚ It is extremely important to develop a good working relationship with any health care provider. If you are not happy, you can and should try another. So much information is available online regarding physicians, their qualifications, whether or not they are board certified, where they attended medical school, where they did their residency and most practices have very good websites. It’s not only the physicians, it is their entire staff. You are comfortable from the moment you sign in at the front desk until you sign out. Nevada Pain and Spine Specialists not only provide great medical care, they have a great deal of respect for you as an individual. I would gladly refer anyone to this group of caring and extremely knowledgeable professionals.
