GO TO THIS SHOP. There are not enough stars to give them. First off Natalie at the front desk is genuinely kind and actually wanted to know about me. Andy who did my tattoo made me feel so comfortable and even though my tattoo was small, he put the same amount of effort into it as if I was getting a large tattoo. I have multiple tattoos and I have never been treated this well. Normally tattoo artists look at you like a dollar sign and that’s it but the artists here have pride in there craft and major respect in the tattoo you want.
I will definitely go out of my way to drive from San Francisco to Reno just to go to Marked Studio again.

Not this time though. I had initially heard about Marked from a friend that was helping promote the veterans day tattoo event. First time in the doors everyone was extremely friendly and professional. Despite that day being extremely busy, from what I saw all of the artists were still focused on producing high quality work. Parker did my tattoo on veterans day, quick hand, very clean line work, and knows how to run his tattoo machine to get the perfect result and not bury the needles like I’ve experienced many times before. A company willing to give their time a resources to say thank you to vets automatically receives my gratitude. Two months later I just had my first session with Kenny to do a galaxy/​universe half sleeve. I was late to my appointment due to car trouble and received numerous calls from Kenny and Jen to see if I was alright. That’s more than customer service. That’s treating someone as family. Kenny is an extremely talented artist! Didn’t have the full 7.5 hours to sit because I was late. Yet he still made a great amount of progress and it’s the cleanest tattoo I’ve personally ever seen. He’s also a great person to talk to while sitting still for hours on end.
I’m going to stop rambling about all the amazing positive experiences, there are too many to list.
*I will absolutely tell anyone and everyone to come get their art done here! Rates are higher than average shops around Reno. Well guess what, you get what you pay for, and this studio is far more than average. I will never get inked anywhere else. Ever. Marked Studios is a one of a kind tattoo studio. Easily the best in the area. Mark, you had a huge spark of genius when designing the way Marked Studios should be presented and run. I look forward to seeing everyone at the studio for years to come! Hopefully I don’t run out of canvas though!

I want to take a moment to recognize everyone at Marked studios. I went to their Veterans Day tattoo event and received my very first army tattoo. Not only were they super friendly, but their studio is modern and clean. I had the pleasure of being tattooed by the owner, Mark. He has a really awesome attitude and he’s a talented artist. I could tell that they were doing this event out of the goodness of their hearts simply because they wouldn’t accept any money I offered. I also tried to tip Mark, my artist, and he wouldn’t accept. He said, «that’s not necessary, this event is for you guys. Thank you for your service.» He then gave me a hug, after care products, and sent me on my way with a smile and a bitchin tattoo. Marked studios definitely has my business in the future :)

For those who want just the bottom line, there aren’t enough stars to express how this place is just amazing. I don’t know why you’d go anywhere else, I certainly won’t.
This was my first tattoo, at age 56, and didn’t know what to expect. I had a design in my head that expressed my love for my son who had just passed away suddenly so there was a lot of emotion in this piece. From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted with a warm friendly smile from Natalie, I knew I had the right place.
Mackenzie was the artist who took my thoughts and emotions and created something that went above and beyond. The first draft was amazing in itself and brought out ideas that I hadn’t thought about but she picked up on during our conversations. After a few minor changes, I felt it expressed everything I felt inside and now beautifully expressed in a piece of art. I even use a copy of it as my computer desktop background!
The design I described to them was largely about my last hike I did with my son. We hiked to the top of Peavine Mountain on a full moon and drank a Blue Moon beer for my birthday. Mackenzie even managed to put the towers on top of the mountain in the tattoo.
When I arrived the day I got my tattoo, waiting for me was a six pack of Blue Moon. I broke down. I think that says it all about how they feel about your entire experience there. Thank you Mackenzie and Natalie for all you did for me.

I can’t say enough about Marked Studios! I brought the picture in of what I was looking for, they made a copy, took notes and then let me know they would figure out which artist is best for the job. Kenny emailed me a couple days later and his drawing blew me away. It was so beautiful and lifelike and I could hardly wait to get the tattoo done! Unfortunately it took a few weeks to find dates that worked for both of us but it was worth the wait! The studio is spotless and you can tell they care about keeping things clean for their customers. The tattoo took a couple hours and the finished product was even better than I expected! They send you home with an aftercare package and detailed instructions to care for your tattoo. I also thought the cost was more than reasonable for the quality of art you get. Your $ 100 consultation fee goes towards your tattoo and then they change you per hour. I know there is a minimum cost but I don’t recall how much it is. If I ever get another tattoo, Marked will be my first stop!

Parker did our tattoos — and he was amazing — the BEST!!! He let me make all the little tweaks and adjustments I wanted, and was just a super cool dude in general. The studio was very clean and sanitary environment, and the front desk person was helpful and welcoming. I wish they weren’t 10 hours away from home — I would absolutely come back to them for my next tattoo!!!

My wife and I both went into today and got tattoos. Here 3^rd one, but first in about 10 years! My first one ever. I had Mo and my wife had Mackenzie. They both were relational and knew what they were doing!
The team was super cool, Natalie at the front desk was so welcoming and hospitable. They truly made the experience fun and comfortable.
The facility was super clean, not trashy or «hole in the wall» like many others…
They were able to understand what we wanted, where we wanted it, and they turned out stellar! I will definitely be going back there for my full sleeve once I have the funds! Pricing is worth it for the experience. I would recommend anybody to them!

I feel like whatever I write in this review will never do Marked Studios enough justice. Despite the fact that I’m fairly young, I’ve been in my fair share of tattoo shops and parlors. I got my first one when I was 18, and I’ve been addicted ever since. Let’s say I’ve smartened up over the years because not all artists, and their artwork for that matter, are created equal. Marked Studios is top of the line, the crème de la crème, the five star steakhouse of the tattoo world. In my opinion, this is a special occasion; if you don’t think of it that way you probably shouldn’t be getting a tattoo. You are marking your body with beautiful, detailed artwork. Am I crazy to think these artists deserve the $ 100/​hr they charge? Hell no. The tattoo artists are creative, talented individuals who produce breath-​taking work and they deserve every penny. And at Marked Studios, you’re paying for the ambiance, comfort, over-​the-​top service that I doubt you’ll find anywhere else. If you’re willing to drop hundreds of dollars on an anniversary, birthday, or celebratory dinner, you should be even more willing to pay the same for something that will stay on your body for life. I understand this is my personal opinion, but it’s worth sharing because I made a stupid tattoo mistake when I was younger; I don’t want anyone shying away from Marked Studios simply because it seems too expensive. This is an investment, and I think you should treat it as such.
Now that my PSA is out of the way, like I said, Marked Studios is a cut above the rest. When you go in for a consultation, you pay a flat $ 100 fee upfront. This is not in addition to the tattoo cost, it’s built in so you actually pay less when you come to get your artwork done. I absolutely love the set-​up; there’s a waiting room up front and the tattooing happens in the back behind double doors. The shop is full of cool artwork and even cooler artists. Everyone is super friendly and the staff is more than accommodating. They offer all types of drinks, snacks, even blankets if you get cold. It is truly an experience.
I had two small pieces done, one on my wrist, the other on my collarbone, and had a touch-​up done on a larger tattoo I have on my hip. I have had the tattoo on my hip worked on several times and I have never been happy with it. I showed it to Moses, one of the Managers of the shop, and he had some great ideas and color palettes to suggest that would finally fix it (you could still see some of the old tattoo I had covered up). Moses was just completely awesome. He was always triple checking to make sure everything was done to my liking and I am absolutely thrilled with all my pieces. My hip tattoo looks killer!
If my review hasn’t convinced you to get your next ink here, maybe this little story will. I realized a few days after I got my artwork that I needed to add something to my wrist piece and called the shop to see if Moses could fit me in sometime. The shop (and particularly Moses) were incredibly accommodating and got me in the next day in between two longer sessions. I felt a little silly having to come back for such a tiny thing, and this was completely, 100% my fault that I forgot something. Moses gladly added what I wanted and refused to take any money for the addition, as did the shop. If that isn’t over the top customer service, I don’t know what is.
The vibes I get here are just amazing. I love the shop, colors, artwork, artists, and professionalism. While talking with Moses during my session, he explained how seriously they take cleanliness, and it definitely shows. Artists are constantly changing gloves and whipping equipment down to keep everything clean. The high-​end tattoo guns they use are incredibly quiet and the music is right on point: not too loud and not annoying either.
Marked Studios has my loyalty and I plan on having Mark himself do my Chronicles of Narnia tattoo next! Get your next artwork done here, you won’t be disappointed. Mark and his staff will no doubt go above and beyond for you, making sure your ink is exactly what you want.

My daughter just got a tattoo from Parker, and we could not be more pleased! We had agreed she could get a tattoo on her 17^th birthday only to discover that you have to be 18 in CA. She was super disappointed and started to research options. She found Marked Studios online and we were able to coordinate a planned family vacation from the Bay Area, with a quick jaunt to Reno. Even though the studio is closed on Mondays, they were able to get Parker to come in since that was the only day we could make it. Of course, there was an extra fee, but we were happy to pay it.
The studio itself was beautiful– clean and airy with lots of professional chairs and equipment– we felt in good and competent hands. Parker, was a true professional– he clearly knew what he was doing and takes pride in his work. He was very warm, personable, and put us all at ease. My daughter was in minimal pain and the whole process was seamless. A good friend came with us who has lots of tattoos and said this studio was the best she had ever been to and that Parker did an amazing job. I enthusiastically recommend Parker and Marked Studios for a professional and personable experience.

My friend Jennifer Stauffer recommended this place for me. I was looking to get two lilies tattooed on my side, because the guy who did my first tattoo moved, I needed a new place. I did some research and liked what I saw about this tattoo place, and having the recommendation helped. I used their website to submit my ideas and Mark promptly emailed back.
We set up a consult date, while I wasn’t a huge fan of paying for the consult, it was nice to talk to Mark and communicate exactly what I wanted. Once we were in agreement, we set a date for the tattoo to happen.
I came in after work one day and the shop was relatively quiet. It was a nice calm atmosphere. I like how they have the tattoo area separate from the front, so just in case you’re getting a tattoo in a spot where you’re not comfortable showing, you don’t have to feel self conscious of passerby looking in on you. Mark made the process super fun and easy. He offered a break about halfway through when I needed to use the restroom. The whole tattoo took about 3 hours to complete. He did an amazing job.
The overall price for the tattoo was far more expensive that I’d like to have paid for the tattoo. I don’t see how labor and resources equaled $ 500, but then again I’m not in the business. I definitely paid for quality though. I love my lilies and get compliments on them all the time. If I had an inexperienced tattoo artist, I can see how the beautiful fade job Mark did would have bled and not given me the final product I was looking for.
When I need another really detailed quality piece, I will come back to Marked studios. They do amazing work. but for my simple guys, I will take my business elsewhere because some tattoos I don’t believe are $ 100 shop minimum pricing.

Made a last minute trip up to Reno and decided while I was here to stop in and get some touch up work done. My experience was just as great as the first. They squeezed me in even though it was such short notice. Marked is truly a standalone business. I knew coming back that I would be taken care of just as good, if not better than the first time. Everyone is professional yet personable, and the shop is one that you can come into feeling confident that you will be treated well. Everyone is unique in their style and what they are looking for in their ink work. There is no criticism or categorizing here. Thank you Mark and Marked Studio family for taking care of me again. You are highly recommended in my book!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Marked Studios! I drove all the way from Sacramento to come here for my first tattoo and let me tell you. I was impressed! The tattoo shop is so clean and new, not like your average shop. Everyone here is so friendly and inviting, it makes you feel so comfortable to get a tattoo. I’ve gotten 3 tattoos here so far and will be getting my 4^th one on Friday. BIG S/​O to Moses here, he does absolutely AMAZING work. I would forsure recommend this place to anyone who wants a tattoo and is nervous to get one. Thank for Marked Studios for all the amazing work! (:

One of the best decisions of my life I can’t wait to go back. Once I heard, you get what you give. the price for the art isn’t anything short of perfect. My artist Moses was a cool guy especially for being my first tattoo ever and the rest of the staff was just as amazing. I’ve recommended all my friends who even say the word «tattoo» no other place can be better. Not in town probably not the state itself. They checked in about a week later. The building itself has great art all around and a private room with free drinks. I hope to get a piece of art done by each artist by the end of this lifetime. I’m just about to make my second appointment

There is nothing bad to say about this place. It is extremely clean and the customer service is out of this world and the Natalie at the front is one of the nicest people would will ever meet. Even when you first walk in it is obvious how professional they are because ypu are instantly welcomes and greeted. They even give tours and explain how they do consultations. You pay by needle time and that is not including breaks if you need them, while most tattoo shops in Reno make you pay by the colors you use or the size. I went it and payed exactly how much I was expecting so they are not overpriced.
My artist was Kenny Tavener and again there is nothing bad I can say about him. I had a 5 hour session and while it hurt I felt constantly motivated to finish it by Kenny and all the other artists, Natalie, and the manager. Not once did I feel like I didn’t belong and it’s easily rhe best expierence I’ve ever had. They are always asking if yoy need anything or if there is anything they can do for you. They have heated blankets, drinks, and delicious suckers. You can tell they understand that tattoos Hurt and what you to be comfortable the whole time you get one. They answered all my questions and we’re able to continue a conversation so I never felt like I couldn’t talk to them or Kenny.
I easily recommend this place to anyone looking for a GREAT tattoo. My only complaint is that I’m moving and won’t be able to return. If you’re getting your first ot you’re last tattoo this is the place you should go hands down. And I will always recommend it to all my friends in Reno

Can’t say enough wonderful things about Marked Studios. Moses did my tattoo and a few for my daughter. Throughly pleased with Moses and his work and was well worth the drive from Sacramento. Marked Studios is one of the most professional and clean tattoo shops I have ever been in. I felt very at ease and confident. Moses is such a great guy so nice and funny too. Beautiful and pristine tattoo shop! Marked studios is definitely a high end studio. As soon as you step foot inside, you’ll most certainly see/​feel it.
Bright and spacious, dressed in amazing artwork. The employees here are extremely friendly and professional, and will go above and beyond to make their client comfortable and have the ability to produce the most perfect tattoo you could ever dream of.
The staff makes sure to check on you at all times to keep your comfort level high and will kindly ask you if you would like a beverage… oh yes, they have beer, wine, soda… anything you could ask for!
This is truly a one of a kind group of artists that strive for perfection. Come in and check em out, you won’t be disappointed!

I don’t think I can say enough good things about this place!
Their shop etiquette is superb! They don’t play loud obnoxious music. The «shop talk» was very appropriate.
The shop itself is very clean, well lit and spacious.
Jake is doing my thigh piece and it is looking amazing so far! He has a really «light hand» if that makes sense? Meaning he’s not grinding into my skin. I’ve had a few tattoo artist really dig the needle in my skin and it cause scarring.
Everyone made sure that I was comfortable. They even set up a movie on the iPad to distract from the pain. When I first sat down I was offered a warm blanket and a beverage all at no additional charge. I’ve never had this kind of service anywhere and I’ve been to a lot of shops! I really felt like a VIP :)
The work that I’ve seen in progress while I was there and on Facebook is fantastic. I don’t think I have ever seen work like they do. Maybe on tv, but not anywhere here. All of the artists are very talented. I can definitely tell that a lot of time was spent in choosing the artists.
They use all new pre packaged, sterilized needles. Some shops re use needles by an autoclave machine thing and I’m not comfortable about that at all. This place and the employees are very sanitary.
I would say that they are a little pricey, but as everything in this world goes you get what you pay for and these guys know what they’re doing. I couldn’t be happier with my work.
I have FINALLY found a place that I can call my tattoo home :) I will recommend these guys to ANYONE and I won’t go anywhere else for my ink!
