MAC Cosmetics

I have always received consistently good/​helpful customer service at this location.
Today I decided that I couldn’t handle my rosacea anymore and I needed something better than cheap drugstore foundation to cover it up. I thought I would go into MAC with a totally naked face and get matched with the perfect shade. It was a terrifying prospect: Walk into MAC, flaws ablazing, and have to talk a an impeccably made up woman! So intimidating!
But it was fine! I was greeted by Jayme as soon as I walked in. She was helping two other customers but didn’t take long to get to me. I told her «I need A LOT of help» while gesturing to my red blotchy (also browless) face. She sat me down and got to work. She first moisturized my skin and then did one half of my face with one shade of foundation and the other half with a similar shade. We walked over to the mirror and I chose the side I liked better. She then showed me a complimenting powder and blush and handed me a mirror to show me how to apply it.
I’d already told her that I could only afford 2 – 3 items and never once did she pressure me to buy more. She showed me a few things that I was curious about (like this pretty cool oval brush for applying foundation) but like I said, there was no pressure at all.
I told Jayme that I’d also brought in 6 empty containers for their recycling program. I always thought that you could only get a free lipstick by doing that. But she let me get my eyebrow powder instead. I don’t wear lipstick so this really made my day.
She wrote down the other products I was interested in on her card (because I know I’ll forget next time), signed me up for the loyalty program, rung me up and I was on my way.
All in all it was a painless and pleasant visit. It’s worth the extra time it takes to drive across town to the Summit location.
Oh, she also threw in a sample of an exfoliator and moisturizer!

The girls in this store Are all very friendly and very helpful! They know their stuff… If you have questions they are more than happy to help. They keep it very organized and clean. If you’re a MAC Junkie I would definitely recommend this location!

MAC Cosmetic is probably my fave brand when I need supplies. I had a couple of free hours before my next meeting in south Reno and I noticed this store location, so I just gotta stop in and check things out. MAC is more or less a higher end cosmetic supplier. Don’t expect prices like at the local drug store for make up. I have my MAC case full of supplies when I’m on location for a shoot and if I run out of something I need when traveling, I can usually find a store.
I’ve found if you know your stuff, it’s a lot easier to deal with the staff sometimes. Usually I get people that have experience, and they know what I’m talking about. If you come off as a professional, you get treated a lot better. I read some of the reviews complaining on the staff at some stores, well sometimes it’s the customer just wanting to get a free makeover or use the display items and not gonna buy stuff. I’ve never had a problem. Browsing I saw a few things I liked and thought I’d try. Not a big major purchase day. I’m here in Reno on business, but not modeling business this time, so I don’t have my case to fill with new stuff. I do prefer MAC over Sophora as the staff usually seems more experienced and professional. Knowing this store location is here, I’m all set if I need make up supplies when in Reno. Now. let’s see what else is in this shopping center!

Oh Mac, be still my heart! This store is clean, the product is always fresh and stocked! The staff is friendly and knowledgable! The store is a smaller store, but they still have most all the product Mac carries.
I’ve been a fan of Mac for as long as I can remember! I was stoked when a store moved into my neighborhood, I was thrilled! They always have the newest product and the staff is very always eager to show you how to use the new products in he best ways! They are always well stocked on the essentials! I’ve had the staff match my color many times (time of year, amount of coverage, ect), and they are always spot on! I’ve also had my makeup done by he staff quite a few times, and they always spot on matching my outfit, and the theme of the event.
If you are a novice searching for some choir starter makeup, or a pro needed to add some colors to your collection, this is the place to stop!

MAC is one of my favorite brands of makeup. Their colors and quality of product is top notch. With that all being said this review is based on the service I get from this particular location.
I have been coming here for years. When they first opened this stand alone store I was so happy that I didn’t have to go to Macys anymore to get product. This store is pretty small but they seem to have everything that the larger stores carry. The employees are always helpful and friendly and DAMN do they know their stuff. They are all experts at their craft. I love how MAC trains them to become artists. I always try to come in there and just get one thing but always end up leaving with more because these ladies and gents are awesome at pointing out new product and services.

I love MAC but I had not spent any time in the Reno location since we move here a year and a half ago. I visited the location on Monday when I noticed my foundation was getting too light for my skin color. I wanted to try a MAC brand so I went in to get color matched.
The store is smaller than most MAC locations I have been to, but it is very well organized and comfy. Jessica helped me find the right shade for my foundation as well as a concealer. While applying she was great about giving me some helpful tips on application. I will definitely go back to see her when I need my make-​up applied for special occasions, as she did a great job and was super friendly.
I love make-​up and I also love the fact that they have a recycle rewards program. If you bring in 6 empty MAC products you get a free lipstick or eye shadow!

I had a fancy event to go to this past weekend and decided to treat and get my makeup done. Jayme was absolutely fabulous and I got so many compliments. I’m trying to figure out a way to get her to come to my house every morning, she’s just that good.

This is my first time in Reno and my sister, stepmom, and I went to this M.A.C and the people working here were so nice and helpful. But, the only thing I have a problem with is there uniforms. When we walked in, older woman cleavage was the first we saw. It literally looked like the woman’s boobs were going to fall out at any second. At the other M.A.C’s I’ve been to, I’ve never seen them wear such revealing uniforms. Anyway, besides that, everything was just fine.

The artists make you feel right at home! They are friendly, knowledgable, attentive, and personable. All factors are important when it comes to buying makeup!

The location is really nice and the staff is very friendly. But I wasn’t happy at all with my make up. I went in a while ago to get my make up done for my 21^st birthday so I was expecting something that would really POP and make me look like it was my birthday. I told the young lady what I wanted and that if was my birthday hoping she would make me look glam. I could have done the make up better MYSELF! I don’t know if it had to do with my skin being darker than most women in Reno or what, but it was soooo plain. The colors didn’t pop. I asked her to make my eyebrows a lil more full and shape them, she pretty much just used a pencil and filled em in to make them look worse than they already did. Getting your make up done at a MAC counter isn’t cheap. I’m from the Oakland/​San Francisco area and anytime I’ve gone to MAC my make up has been nothing less than perfect. Like I said I’m not sure what it was, but this was NOT a good experience for me. I got a $ 100 MAC gift card for Christmas and I’m debating whether or not I should go to the store at Summit, or just to the mall loctation.

I love this location the staff is always friendly and helpful. And they always have what I want in stock. Mind you I always find a «new love,» whether it is a lipstick or brush.

I admit it. I’m not the most girliest of girls, and walking into a store like this intimidates the living hell out of me. And when one of the girls who work here came at me with a belt hanging around her waist that had 94 different kinds of brushes on it, I wanted to turn around and run out the door screaming.
But I stayed and I’m glad I did. I didn’t catch her name, but she was super nice, listened to me proclaim my ineptness with makeup and calmed me down. She hummed to herself while she perused the shelves looking for the right combination of foundation and primer for me, explained what she was doing without confusing me, and how she applied it. I walked out of there with a much lighter wallet, but feeling much better than I did half an hour earlier. Thank you, Mac, for being so nice to a makeup dweeb.

I went here two weeks ago on a very slow day, Wednesday afternoon. No one was literally in the store but me as a customer. As an out of town visitor, I relied on the reviews here on Unilocal.The employee on duty wasn’t very helpful As the others says. Maybe it’s this certain girl towards me… I don’t know? Anyways, I felt very rushed because for some reason she keeps asking me «what else do I need»… I mean, I literally asked her if it’s okay to walk around the store and look around. I didn’t understand why she’s such in a hurry to get me outta there.
Thank goodness there was sephora in the same area. I was going to get all my brushes in this store but because of the «rush» questions, I felt like the employee didn’t want me in there. Soooo awkward shopping…
I’ll probably stick to online max shopping. So far, I haven’t found a nice service from any Mac cosmetics store. Hahahhaaha. They just fascinate me why they seem to give me horrible service. Little do they know, I really like to review them.

Autum just did my makeup and she was amazing!!! Soooo sweet and did a beautiful job! What a wonderful experience! Definitely would recommend this location!

As a LA based professional makeup artist, I went to this Mac when visiting Reno, and I was so pleased with how friendly the girls are here! They were quick, very helpful and absolutely sweet! The store was very clean and organized as well. Definitely made me want to come back!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! Everyone that works there is amazing! I especially love Jessica and Jennay! They make you feel like your the only person in the world when you come in. They are extremely helpful and always in a good mood. There’s a guy that works there too, i think his name is Alex? He is awesome too. He is the only man that i will listen to about cosmetics. I have never been disappointed when i’ve gone in there. I will always shop at this store!

I can not say enough nice thing about this store! I came into town and realized I was out of makeup. Since I wasn’t sure if MAC was anywhere near where I was saying. I was able to locate this location from Unilocal!
The store is on the smaller side… But was fully stock with everything I needed. The artest who helped me was super friendly and told me all about the new makeup that they have for the season…
I was impressed that she cared and wasn’t fake (like must of them are in
) she didn’t push extra stuff on me.
Definally will come back here when I’m in town again!!!

I’m in Reno to see friends and we were half an hour early to the party. We stopped at the Summit shops and went to Mac first. The girls here are very friendly and nice and helped us pick out lipsticks. The store layout is good — lots of windows everywhere and the products were places nicely. I am uses to the zoos of the San Francisco Mac stores so this was a nice refreshing change. Thanks ladies!
