Love the yarn selection, but shipping is iffy. Website says they try to get orders shipped out the same day, or next business day. That hasn’t been my experience. I also order wool from the UK, and a package sent Royal Mail gets to New England quicker.

This is a great store!!! WOW — If you visit behind the double doors beware. You may not make it back out! Way too much fun back there. Lots of classes and help for all levels of knitters. Just wish I lived closer to Reno.

My sister and I walked into Jimmy Beans Wool and were instantly greeted with smiling faces. A young man took us on a tour in the warehouse. He was so knowledgeable about everything in the shop/​warehouse. Then we had smiling faces. Jimmy Beans Wool has the best yarn and needle selection… not to mention their awesome customer service! Two thumbs up!!!

I live in NYS, 1 ½ hours from WEBS. I ordered yarn from Jimmy Beans Wool and needles from WEBS both on a Sunday afternoon. Yarn from JBW in Nevada arrived TUESDAY and here it is SATURDAY and no needles from WEBS yet that they said shipped out on WEdNESDAY. From now on, Jimmy Beans Wool gets my business and my praises! I’m a fan for life after what happened with an order my husband placed for me for Christmas! He ordered a very special (and expensive) afghan kit I admired when we were in the store in November. While he told them our address had changed from our PO Box, they forgot, and shipped it there.
Thus began the nightmare that is the Post Office forwarding that I have talked about before. While the PO said it would be 7 to 10 days to go back to Jimmy Bean’s, it took like 8 weeks, and it seems my present would not be there in time. Emma at JB’s was a trooper, and looked all over the country for another kit, to no avail. She was in constant contact with my husband and the PO, trying to figure out where the package was. (The PO had sent the package back to Sacramento, essentially to the dead letter office.)
Low and behold, the door bell rang on Christmas Eve, and a «mystery package» appeared under the Christmas tree, that my husband just said, «wait and see.» It turns out, the package appeared back at JB’s on Dec. 23, and Emma hand delivered it way out to our house in the North Valleys, to make sure I got it in time for Christmas! We were both so impressed that she and JB’s would go to the trouble to make sure I got my present, we couldn’t believe it! So, I wanted to make sure her good deed didn’t go unnoticed, and to say a big «thank you» to Emma and JB Wool! You have a customer for life!

Great selection of yarn, needles, and knowledge. The help that you get when you walk in the door is amazing. Anything from hey I love this yarn what kind of pattern would you do, to um… i dropped a stitch and it has run what do i do! They are great with having kids in the store also, which is not always true of your local yarn shops. I love the fact the JBW is my LYS.

Just placed an order via phone with JBW as I needed it to ship today to get here before leaving town. They not only were friendly and professional, but were able to accommodate my request and within minutes it was shipped out! I have purchased yarn for years from JBW and they have always been helpful and taken the time required to offer the best service possible. I had a very difficult time finding a certain type of yarn. They not only had it, but they also had the best price I could find. I am so happy I discovered this store online! Very fast shipping too.

Great selection and service! They are really dedicated to fast shipping. I always get my item in a couple of days. You can get most anything knitting related here. I have never had a mistake but recently they sent me the wrong needle and quickly mailed me the right one and a pre-​paid mailer to return the wrong one. How often do you see that? I have never been to the store but the internet shopping is divine. Their prices may seem high but considering the better-​type yarns and needles they carry, I don’t really think so. Sometimes you just need something better that what you get at Walmart or Michaels. Go here!

Love this shop! It’s hard to find at first because it’s tucked away in the Sparks warehouse district but don’t give up; it’s worth the effort!
Great natural wool and natural fibers yarn. From bulky to fingering weights. They have everything imaginable from alpaca to mohair, worsted wool and also some cotton and other fibers too. They also have a great selection of yarns and knitting supplies that they keep in the warehouse because the store front is small but the attached warehouse is Gigantic! If you need something, ask– don’t assume that they don’t have what you need because you don’t see it. The prices are very reasonable as well. Happy knitting, crocheting!

I ordered yarn online for the very first time from Jimmy Beans Wool. I’ve been bummed by the recent closings of some New Jersey area yarn stores. I’ve been knitting for a while but still consider myself a novice and I always appreciated the help I received from my local yarn store. I decided to start looking around the web for a good «feeling» online yarn site.
Now, NOTHING beats a brick and mortar yarn store but I have to say online shopping at Jimmy Beans was a fantastic experience! The website is wonderful and full of cool stuff to look at. Checking out was a breeze. I received my package quickly and I even got nice note regarding my shipping enclosed with my order. Thanks to Jimmy Beans, I will be a happy camper on my family road trip. I have been knitting my whole life, and have visited almost every yarn shop that I walk past. Jimmy Beans is cream of the crop as far as yarn shops go and I cannot say enough good things about them. I live in San Francisco and have been ordering from them for years. Their selection is amazing, and if they don’t have something you want they’ll get it for you. Also, their fulfillment is phenomenal. After placing an order, it shows up at my house within a few days (usually with a friendly note, or a little thank you gift). There are a lot of perks for shopping here: Jimmy Beans Bucks, refer a friend discounts, free shipping on larger orders, etc. They have a very friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you, and they are very clued into the knitting community. TL;DR from an experienced knitter — Buy your yarn here, this place is great!

I always knew JBW was out there and I’d browsed their site a few times but hadn’t actually bought anything until earlier this year when I saw that they had a hard-​to-​find Rowan yarn that I needed to a project. I’ve bought yarn and needles a few times since and every transaction has been smooth and the shipping is ridiculously fast — seriously, I live on the east coast and things arrive from JBW twice as fast as from another of the nationally-​known yarn warehouses that’s right in my own state!

This is a fantastic yarn shop with beautiful colors and interesting textures. If you’ve never been before, be sure to have them show you the warehouse. The products in the shop are just a sampling! Super fun! It’s a must go to place to check out if you love yarn and you’re visiting Reno. Also, check out the hot tub and do a little yarny photo shoot!
Also, there are yarns for every budget! I saw price ranges from approximately $ 5-​$ 50 per skein (give or take).

Every city I travel too usually has at least one yarn shop, I try to check it out, I love them!
So googling, checking Unilocal and phone books are how I find them, but this time we were driving around the area and saw a sign on a warehouse looking building and stopped for a look.
It was late afternoon and it was deserted not to mention the warehouse/​industrial feel, but I still walked in.
Inside was a warm and vibrate space full of color and textures, my kind of place and had a very friendly lady behind the counter. I told her what I was looking for, she had some of the same brand but not the cotton I wanted, so I picked up a few skenes of choice wools and made my purchase.
There is a e-​mail sign up and they offered to order and mail, so it’s a good little shop with nice selections and friendly help!

This is THE place to buy quality yarn and knitting supplies in the Truckee Meadows. They have a VERY extensive selection (don’t let the «small» size of the shop fool you!). Their prices are in reason but you can find some great deals. If you are online, check out their «Wool Watcher» for some awesome, limited time deals.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and eager to help. If you don’t see something on the shelf, just ask! It’ll probably be in the back!
I love to come to this store, though my wallet always complains when I do! It’s so easy to lose your mind in a shop like this. A true knitter’s paradise!
