When I heard a pop from the garage and figured out I had a broken spring, I was super worried about how serious it was. I watched a video online, and it looked like it wouldn’t have been too hard to replace myself. The only issue is that it might be slightly dangerous because I’d be torquing it up, and there’s the potential for it to snap back and do some major damage.
Decent springs online were about $ 100, but I thought I’d give a professional a call just to see what they were charging. George and Sons had five stars from all their reviews, and after working with them, it’s easy to see why. They were professional and courteous from the initial phone call to set the appointment to the end when we parted ways. And on top of that, they were very, very reasonably priced. Chris installed a two spring setup, and the garage door is working way better than before the spring had snapped.
Can’t recommend these guys enough. Definitely give them a call if you have a garage door issue.

We have several rent properties in the Reno area and have used George and Sons for several garage door repairs. They are prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. They even inspected and adjusted the second garage door without charge. We will definitely use them for all of our future garage door repairs in the future and deserve a five star review!

Garage door spring broke on Friday afternoon. They responded promptly at 7:00 Saturday morning, diagnosed the problem and scheduled a return to replace many parts on Monday. They came Monday, replaced and repaired everything and charged a very reasonable amount. Thanks!

While at home yesterday for lunch, I noticed that the spring on my garage door had snapped after pulling my vehicle in. As this was the case and since I could not easily open the garage door due to the weight of the door, I called George & Sons Garage Doors, due to the exceptional service that they provided previously, and was notified that they had a technician in the area and that they would be able to fit me in that day.

They deserve ever star. They were excellent — from scheduling to the service to the price. I recommend them 100 percent. John was excellent and fast at repairing my gear — or whatever it was — and even rescheduled when I forgot the first appointment. Please give this company your money when it comes to repairing any problems with your garage door. I based it off of Unilocal reviews and it was worth it.

OUTSTANDING! Our garage door spring broke on a Saturday morning. After looking at Unilocal reviews we called this company. Couldn’t have been happier with the service provided. James came right over, installed 2 New springs on our main garage door and oiled and lubricated all moving parts on both our garage doors. He was extremely professional and very personable. I could not have been happier with the service he provided. I would certainly recommend him to anyone that needs garage door repair or replacement!

One of the springs snapped on my garage door. I might’ve tried to the do-​it-​myself option, however the garage door broke on the exact same day as my home water heater sprung a leak. Needless to say, my hands were full and I needed some help.
I did some reasearch and because of great Unilocal reviews I decided to go with George & Sons. I called first thing in the morning, and was told by the owner that his son would be able to do the repair that day. He specifically said that the scheduling would be from 3pm-​5pm, however with how busy they were that they would get to my garage door closer to 5pm. The owner promised me that regardless of how busy they were, my garage door would be serviced that same day. (The honesty and the consideration were both really refreshing. Several times I’ve put my life on hold for the cable company or a repair man to accommodate a 4 – 8 hour chunk of time)
Feeling like my garage door was going to be fixed, I was able to tackle my home water heater (by myself). About the time when I was trying to figure out how to get my new unit up on the stand and which friend I could call to help give me a hand, the repair man from George & Sons arrived (I wish I could remember his name). While I lead him to the broken garage door the service guy noticed the new water heater ready to be installed. Without a moment of hesitation, he offered to give me a hand in lifting it into place.
George & Sons Garage Doors was a lifesaver. I couldn’t be happier with the service, the price, and the quick turn around.

These guys are the BEST.
Had an emergency where one of the tenants hit the door with his car and the whole thing came off the tracks. The door was in bad shape before but this put it over the edge. James came out and got the door back up so no one could break into the garage and quoted us a FANTASTIC price on a new door that they put in the following week.

Unilocal says they are closed Sundays, but my garage spring broke Saturday night, so I figured I’d call on Sunday and leave a message so at least they could get back to me early on Monday… but they answered on Sunday, and asked if it was too late for them to come out Monday afternoon (since I wasn’t even expecting to be able to get someone out until midweek, I was super excited). They were very friendly and it cost less than I was expecting.

Best service ever. Showed up on time, did more than they charged us for and their work comes with a guarantee. They where polite and went our of their way to do an outstanding job. They are as good as gold.

Stopped by when they promised and did the job quickly. There was no pressure for anything other than the service I needed. Along with the service he gave me some great advice, which will come in handy in the future. I would definitely recommend anyone needing work on their garage door to call them.

We accidentally backed into our garage door early last Saturday morning (³⁄₇) and needed it fixed quickly. I called a couple of other places before I tried George & Sons, but they were unavailable. James George of George & Sons picked up the phone promptly and was polite and accommodating over the phone. He committed to coming to our house between 11am and 1pm on Saturday and arrived well within that time frame. James was professional and extremely knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and shared his thorough knowledge of garage doors and openers freely. I could really tell that he was passionate about his business and that he cares about his customers.
Unfortunately, James had just used his last brace on a previous job and was unable to complete our job that day. He scheduled us for service on Monday (³⁄₉) morning and according to my wife, James worked quickly and efficiently. He was able to straighten out our door and even reduce a lot of the vibration and noise that had a tendency to wake up our kids whose rooms are right over the garage door.
I didn’t do a lot of shopping around, but his prices seem reasonable and for every job they do they donate a portion of the cost to Awaken, a Christian non-​profit organization based in Reno. Their mission is to increase awareness and education surrounding the issue of sexual exploitation, and to provide shelter and restoration for its victims.

Our garage door’s spring broke unexpectedly, scaring the bejesus out of me and my husband and leaving my little car trapped inside our garage. After calling two other places (one couldn’t get a tech out until next week, the other quoted an insane amount for after hours services), I called George and Sons the next morning and got James. He quoted me a reasonable price (parts, labor, everything) and said he could be out that same morning as soon as he finished the job he was currently at. He arrived right when he said he would, was prepared and was so friendly. He answered all my husband’s questions, serviced the door and made sure it was working properly. I hope to never have garage door issues again, but if I do, I am definitely calling them again.
