I have been tanning on and off here for 5 plus years. It’s always super clean, staff is consistently friendly and knowledgeable about products and they have packages to fit anyone’s budget! If you still like tanning give Element a try.

I really like coming here, the beds are great and their packages are a good deal.

After over twenty years of utilizing «Tans Etc.» they unfortunately closed due to the Atlantis Casino expansion.
We transferred our membership over to Element Tanning. I was a little displeased with the shorter hours of operation closing at 7:00 on weekdays and 6:00 on the weekends. But, everyone was so nice we made it work with our busy schedules.
All was going well until there new hire, a little young blonde girl, who works on the only two days I have available to tan… which is Sunday and Monday. We have been now told by this young girl that unless we arrive a half hour prior to closing that we will not be able to tan because she has «an agenda» «and will not stay a moment past the closing time on the door».
My wife and myself purchased a monthly membership several months ago so we could each have unlimited tanning as per the hours of operation. As of today’s date we have paid for six tanning sessions at Pacific Sun Tanning due to the store being closed up to an hour early or being rejected by this young girl.
My wife or myself will be in touch with the owner tomorrow.
I must be frank if she retains her employment you will lose two customers.
Update:
Two weeks later after speaking with the manager of this establishment I am very pleased with the changes that were made. The young lady has completely altered her attitude and has taken great efforts in going out of her way to accommodate us. I applaud the facility as well as the employee for remedying this situation. My wife reinstated her membership and all is well, now!

I would love to give four stars however there are a few glitches that keep Element from being simply perfect.
One complaint first: closing is at 7:00pm, not 9:00 as stated. ~~
Most would expect if closing were at a certain hour that any business will not greet you with a bummed out attitude that someone has arrived. Tanning takes no more than 15 minutes so the latest an employee may end up staying after close would be 15 – 30 minutes at most. Depends on how many show at the last minute. Most businesses schedule employee’s at least a little time after close. Maybe not here. But, if you are told you’re not wanted after 6:45 because the person closing has to wipe one more bed after 7:00, change business hours accordingly. I do have a feeling this is not the overall business practice, just someone who may not want to work one extra minute.
On Sunday, element closed an hour ½ early because business was slow. Really? This is what I pay for? :(
The positives: all employees are nice and welcoming. I read otherwise however that has yet to be my experience.
~ the entire salon/​bathrooms are always clean.
~ beds are clean and work well. Some better than others.
~ element leaves a hard candy on the towel to enjoy while you tan.
~ if you have a membership/​monthly package, you’ll save 25% on the tanning bed lotions. I don’t use them but once in a blue moon however, others in my family do and like them.
I personally do not use tanning beds a lot. However, life is busy lately and it’s been convenient for quick summer color and a winter pick me up.
Cheers! word to the wise~ moisturize and drink a lot of water so you don’t look 80 years old before your time.

Walk in around closing time, after fighting traffic and been trying to get there all week… Well the young gal was in a hurry and was all sorry we’re closed and I’ve got some where to be! I said I wasn’t looking to tan I just wanted to get my wife set up so that she could come tan and it’s all paid for and taken care of. She nicely said I’m sorry I’m cleaning I’ve got plans after work. I asked her if I could just sign her up, and pay and reiterated I didn’t want to tan… Just wanted to get the stuff paid for. She said no sorry I got things to do. I fully understand that. I understand plans and having somewhere to go, but to flat out say no sorry? When all I wanna do is pay you for the most expensive membership? And pre pay for a year? Okay no sweat, I took my business to pacific suntan. Paid for a year upfront. Bought 3 lotions for the wife and even signed myself up for a few months of a lesser package. Customer service means a lot!

Element Tanning is just what I needed to get Summer rolling. They have a wide variety of different pressure beds and Mystic spray tans too. Their professional staff will get you set up with recommendations for how to get the most effective tan without burning! Kelsey is amazing, so kind and helpful! I like to think of her as my own «tanning specialist!» They also have a variety of tanning lotions and yummy smelling candles. Pricing is great with no hidden fees and no high pressure sales techniques! (You know what I mean if you’ve tanned at some of the other local tanning spots!) Element Tanning is also locally owned and operated so you can still keep it local! Enjoy and get some sun on those buns!

Very clean, I love the beds, staff is welcoming and very friendly. They don’t try and push you to buy a package or product like most other tanning salons do! I love their beds too, I get the results I want. :)

Hadn’t tanned in years, they weren’t especially friendly, but quick to assist, and the place is very clean and I’ve never had to wait.
The beds are very fast, and I tanned quickly with just 3 10min visits on a Level III bed.
It seems rather expensive, but the convenience makes it worth it.
I would recommend.

The only reason I will give this place one stars is because of the employees they are always happy when I go in and try to be helpful. I purchased a 10 pack of level 10 tanning sessions with what was supposed to be the best tanning lotion they carried (excess by designer) for over $ 300. When I spend this much money I expect a great tan after a few sessions. I have seen NO DIFFERENCE in my tan at all after 3 sessions. I use a spot with a sticker to tell and it has not moved at all! This is odd because usually when I tan in a level 10 bed after the first session I am very much more noticeable dark and don’t have to go in for the next for at least a week. I called the salon today and asked them if there bulbs where old and why this 80 dollar tanning lotion isn’t working. The women I spoke to on the phone who stated she was the manager was very insulted because I asked if the bulbs where ok. She then said well I don’t know how you tan but our beds are fine and the lotion is one of the best so it must be you. You need to go at the full 10 before you start seeing color and if you don’t then what, what do you want me to do. Umm really. I have to go 10 times to notice any difference in my tan? No, other salons would disagree and I know how my skin is. If their bed is working properly the only thing I can think of is they switched out there $ 80 dollar lotion for something cheaper to keep there customers coming back. I’m very upset at the way I was spoken to and will finish my 10 sessions here and I will not return. I will not send people here and I will let people know how rude and unhelpful the management is. A good business would hire a good manager to try and help the customer when they have a problem not tell them they are wrong and pretty much say oh well. They don’t care because the already have my money and don’t give refunds. This to me is sad. I will have to take my business elsewhere and will be more then happy to give my money to a business that knows there stuff.

This is my favorite salon in town. They are very clean and the ladies at the counter are always very friendly. I don’t tan often so I am not sure how their pricing compares, but they seem to run specials pretty often that are a good deal. They have a limited selection of lotions though. And a big plus: if you check-​in on Unilocal,you get a free tan for any level!

Worst customer service ever! Manager was rude and unprofessional. Half the time you cannot get a Mystic tan, and often times when you do the product is old and doesn’t work. They lie about who is the owner, manager, etc. when you do try to seek a resolution I would advise anyone from patronizing this establishment. There are far better local businesses to give your money to. I hate that I even have to give them one star.

I discovered Element Tanning online when searching for a new place during the construction at Kietzke and Moana. I knew getting in and out over there would be even more miserable than usual and dreaded it. Imagine my surprised to find Element Tanning right next door to Kinders BBQ on Warren and Moana, and much more convenient for me. The staff is friendly and the place is large and clean. There are wipes, deodorant and body spray in each room and eyewear is provided. Even ice cold bottled water – free. One of the best things is that you aren’t mercilessly hounded to buy product or specials. They do however have a nice selection of lotion if you need any. Plenty of high pressure beds and no waiting. I will be staying at Element after the construction is over.

This is the first time I have ever left a review. Because of the HORRIBLE customer service I received, I felt that others needed to know.
My sister and I went into Element for a mystic tan. We were going to a wedding on Friday and made appointments for Wednesday.
I had done a mystic tan before (at a different salon) and could immediately see a difference. The woman that went before us (and has a mystic about once a week) came out and told us to be careful because she thought the machine was broken.
The woman working there insisted that the machine was working, but that if the next day we didn’t see a difference to please call in and they would refund my money, so we both got sprayed. I woke up the next morning and was the EXACT same color. I used one of their stickers on my hip just to be sure.
I called them that morning and they said that indeed the machine and been broken and that it was now fixed. Unfortunately this was the day before the wedding and I was not able to go back in. I spoke with Kelsey and simply stated that I did not live in Reno and that I would like a refund. She said she would need to call the owner and discuss it with him.
Kelsey never called me back, so I called in later that same day. She said that the owner would not refund my money but that I could come in for a «free» mystic tan. I again told Kelsey that I did not live in Reno and that I would like to speak to the owner. She said she would let him know. He never called me so I called back and spoke to a different employee. She stated that he had been informed that I did not live in Reno but that «he did not care and would not refund my money»
I called again today and again spoke with Kelsey. When I asked why he had not called me she said that a person can’t go into Walmart and speak with the owner. I thought that was ridiculous and told her there was a big difference between the owner of Walmart and the owner of one tanning salon. She said that he was not going to call me back, he was not refunding my money and he didn’t care that I lived in a different state and that it wasn’t their problem.
I used to live in Reno so my advice to all of you… go down the street to Pacific Sun Tanning. The employees are nicer and when I had an issue there, the owner called me and offered me free tans or a refund. The customer service is soooooo much better and they actually care about their customers.
I am also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I have never been treated this way.

I typically indulge in mystic tans before going on vacation and have tried several tanning salons in Reno, but I have to say Element is definitely by far the best. The staff is super friendly and their mystic machine (despite some other reviews) looks like it was done by a professional — no streaks, no uneven coloring. After realizing how superior Element tan was to other salons, I will never go anywhere else. Plus it’s super clean. Every room has spray deoderant, lotion, lady wipes, etc. and I think it’s those extra touches that really set this place apart.

Terrible customer relations hands down. I have never experienced such horrid treatment from management staff. Still waiting to hear from the owner after 2 years! I guess this business has decided they would rather lose a faithful customer then make things right. Oh well… I found a bottle of tanning product on their shelf and was elated at the price. $ 7 for what seemed to be a high end product. I asked the representative behind the counter if the price was correct. She assured me it was. I bought it and was on my way. I later went in to use one of the many tans I had purchased from a package and was told there was a note in the computer saying I needed to pay an additional $ 40 for the $ 7 bottle of lotion. I explained what happened and was told very rudely I cannot use my tans until I pay back the $ 40. I explained that I had verified with the person behind the counter and was told she no longer works there. I asked for the owner to call me. Never did… So as of now I have lost all the tans I paid for because I wont step foot in that place after how I was treated. And they refuse to allow me to tan anyway And I still haven’t heard from the owner…

I really like this place! Nice friendly staff, very clean and reasonably priced.
I’m not an expert on tanning this was my first experience but i was more than satisfied with the experience.
I spent too much time on a boat this summer and had tan lines that needed to be dealt with before my sisters wedding but i didn’t want any more sun exposure.
I wanted to try spray tan but was afraid it would fade or i would look like an umpa lumpa
The girl at the front explained everything in detail (i ask a lot of questions) my sister and i did it together $ 50 for both, medium spray tans.
It lasted for a little over a month and blended with my other tan perfectly.
if you follow there advise and exfoliate overtime before going and use the lotion generously before getting in the spray booth it will blend great and no one will ever know the difference.
I am no longer afraid of a generic tan, thanks element!

best tanning salon in reno. they always run specials and go because of the ultra deluxe bed that filters out the bad rays. staff are young girls and always sweet. if you sun worship go here. clean facility, easy in and easy out.

Im embarassed to admit but im my younger years i did a lot of tanning, so ive been to the majority of the tanning salons in reno. Now a days i like to go when sun is out of season and i need a little pick me up. I found element shortly after it opened and i’ve been using them ever since. I’ve done both the spray tanning and the beds and both are far better than comparable places in town. The staff is friendly, its super clean and they run awesome specials!
