Econo Lodge Near Reno-Sparks Convention Center

Be prepared for something simple. For me was acceptable as I booked on the same night and was looking for something cheaper.
Breakfasts is suuuuuper basic.
Was quiet.
Room old and dates and dirty carpet, but was clean.
Coffee machine with issues, but I could make it work with some workaround.
They extended my checkout for 1h, what was good.
Unfortunately I’ll not return.
I recommend a remodeling in the rooms and organize the wires of the TV, and enhance to only one remote, and better aircon control.

Disappointing… Could be lovely setting if brought up to modern standards
We did a complete walk through of this property exactly a year ago when we were also in Reno. We knew exactly what infrastructure to expect. The rooms are large. The bathroom in 617 was nicely remodeled. The big sliding glass patio doors that spook some folks were well secured. There was lots of hot water when we needed it. There was a choice of pillow thickness. We like flat pillows; most other folks like the tall kind that give you a neck ache.
The overall room felt ancient. Electrical outlets were cobbed together with multi plug adapters into loose, worn out, duplex outlets. There still is no place to plug in a laptop unless you bring your own extension cord and move furniture to plug it in. THIS PLACE IS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE TRAP. A professional electrician spending a couple of hours in each room could bring the place up to safe standards.
The ancient ammonia type heating & cooling was OK to heat the room quickly but then it became too warm and is not user adjustable for heat output. Only fan speed is user controllable. Their high speed wireless was a nightmare to lock on to and when connection was finally established, the speed was (measured) a little over 500 kbps. Later in the evening it dropped to dial-​up speed of about 35 kbps. Totally useless. The nearby cell phone tower must also be overloaded with folks using their phone for internet access because the wireless is so poor. We had to wait for hours to get more than one bar of cell tower signal strength. Finally about 9 PM we got 6 bars (out of ten) and were able to make a talking call home.

Well, we rented this room to save me from having to drive over an hour to the airport at 3 am. That said, we figured it couldn’t be that bad for one night, especially given that we used our points to book it for free (which I think helped in terms of my being fairly forgiving).
The hotel is on Virginia and given its busy location, I found it to be surprisingly quiet. There’s a little street noise but overall it was quiet.
The room I had was an ADA room so there’s a very large walk in shower with full tiled floor with drains. There was the previous occupant’s used soap and the hotel soap wrapper still in the shower so they must have missed that when cleaning.
There are large sliding glass doors to each room and this actually made me a little nervous given the proximity to the street. There is a lock and bolt on the door, however.
Much of the room is dirty with stains of questionable sources on the chairs, bedspreads, and carpet. I left my socks on all night so as not to walk barefoot on the carpet.
There is a phone from the past, which matches the box TV. So if you’re looking for nostalgia, you may have found it.
Wifi is free. Indian restaurant is attached to the lobby so if that’s your bag, it’s handy and available including a coupon for a free breakfast via the hotel. (I left before that opened so I do not know if it is Indian cuisine or a standard hotel continental.)
The rooms are very dated and a little on the sketchy side when it comes to cleanliness. I literally was there for about four hours so it suited my purposes but I would not stay here again.

If I could give this place negative 5 I would. First, it is attached to an Indian food buffet and smells as such when you walk in. We couldn’t make it over Donner pass so we had to find a place for the night. Got the room… fml…just started itching right away… for no reason, just itching. There were two dogs that lived in the room next door along with the person who has been there for months at least. The smell was unbelievable. We lasted maybe 10 minutes before I decided my pregnant ol lady could not stay here. If it was me then I could swing it. Soo I packed up all the stuff in the car to get a refund and leave this hell hole. On the way out the perfect ending, a prostitute, (my line of work, I know one when I see one) and her John going to an hourly rented room to make some money. my girl is in awe at this point. Go to get the refund, guy says he needs to make sure the room is still clean, (this is comical now) so I wait for 20 minutes. All while he is coughing on my card and on the counter and wiping his nose on his shirt. He said, «fuck bro I’m sick, this shit sucks» so if you wanna take your chances and eat some buffet, get a prostitute and scratch from the what I am hoping the neighbor rooms dogs fleas, this is your place… absolutely disgusting… I just had an itch thinking about it.

This place is so disgusting. I check in for a room late one night and first the price was quite high considering the type of motel it is plus the room i was in was so dirty and the people upstairs were walking in/​out, back/​forth… There was no way i could get a wink of sleep. I then went to the office and reported the noise and i was treated as if i was making a big bother. Regardless they moved me and that room was less noisy but after about 30 min i noticed a bug on my shirt… I look closely and see it is a bed bug!!! I then took my sweater off and went into the office and demanded my money back, the employee then informed me to never rent a room there again. As if I ever would want to! Rude, dirty, and disgusting.

Itchy and dirty is all I have to say. Cousin got a free night here and now I see why. Disgusting!!!
All the towels were dirty
Carpets had stains everywhere
Blankets had burn marks and food (rice) on it
Aunties room had blood stains all over the bed and she had to change rooms. Next room had dirt stains on the blankets. When we asked front desk for new blankets he didn’t have any. Whaaaa??? So we slept with no blankets and covered the pillows with our clothes.
Omg not worth getting it for free! Never again.

The room is a good size, but that is the only good thing about my room. Dirtiest room ever. Vomit stains on carpet in 3 places, dry vomit in one chair.
Carpet was wet, and black stuff comes off the carpet on your feet! Black mold on bathroom ceiling, towel rack comes off the wall in your hand.
Smoke alarm is gone, just dangling wires. Alarm clock does not work. Afraid to walk on carpet, it was so gross. Dirty room. I would never recommend staying here. I want my money back!
