Eclipse Running

Very helpful. Walked in and purchased shoes in about twenty minutes. I wasn’t rushed, however, but was definitely asked the right questions to get the right selection of the shoes narrowed down. Also was very pleased with the pricing as I was anticipating much higher prices.

Not a huge selection of shoes but the staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I walked in and immediately got service. The guy knew off the top of his head what they had in stock and spent 20 minutes with me trying to find the best shoe for me. I wasn’t even slightly pressured into the more expensive shoes.

Great customer service, from runners who know running shoes. They offer a fair price and great expertise.

Really a great place to gear up: friendly/​knowledgable/​helpful staff and good merchandise at competitive prices. Strongly recommend over online shopping, you’ll find yourself happy to have supported this local business.

Prices are at least. $ 20 less than anywhere online. Great selection– tons of options. I needed a stability shoe and there were a lot of sneakers here I could try.

Recommended the correct shoe to custom order. It fit perfectly and was less expensive than if I’d ordered it at an online shoe store. The saleswoman was knowledgeable and helpful without an ounce of pressure to purchase. I’ll buy running shoes from them as long as they are in business.

One of the best stores for runners I know. In my mind the most important thing that distinguish one store from another is the service.
The owner of the shop is absolutely great — she clearly knew what she was talking about, did not try to sell us on anything, but went with the approach «try and see if it works for you». What a difference from most of the shops where they have already an idea of what they want to sell you and they do their best to convince you that you should want it.
One last thing — the prices. The prices are lower than anything I could see on internet. My Newton Distance cost 145 bucks with tax and I did not see anything under 155 bucks on the internet.

I absolutely love this store! I went here after another running store in Reno didn’t have the shoes that I wanted available in wide. I came here and was expecting the same, but to my surprise they had them in wide! The owner brought out the requested shoe and another style that was similar to the one I wanted, so I could compare the two. He even let me go outside to jog to try the shoes out. Well, I ended up loving both shoes and had to get them both. He ended up giving me an awesome discount for getting two pairs! This will definitely be my go to store for running shoes in the future!

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. They were attentive while I was there, but they dropped the ball on my order.
I was in September 21 and I tried on 3 pairs of shoes. It was determined I needed to go up half a size in all of them, so they ordered 2 pairs and said I’d hear from them in about a week.
Well a week and a half went by, and I called to check on my order. One of the shoes is completely unavailable, and the other pair, well he had no idea. He said he’d order them again and call me in a week.
A week later, and still no call. I call back, and I’m told «Saucony probably shipped them ground instead of 3 day. They’ll probably be in on Thursday and I’ll call you.»
They haven’t called and at this point I’m so unimpressed that I’m done.

Pretty busy for lunch time on a weekday, so it was a tad bit slow but the owner was good at multitasking customers and finding the right running shoe for me. They hooked me up with a pair of technical socks for buying the shoes, which I guess is standard practice for them. AND the shoes were $ 5 less than the going rate elsewhere (I looked online out of curiosity) so it’s definitely the place to go for gear/​tips/​race info etc!
Even if they were a little more expensive than online, I’d still get my kicks here because they got the service that will take care of you and your needs. But they weren’t, so it’s even better!

walk in to get some information on one of the watches they sale after looking online at the manufacture site, the guy there made phone calls and looked online to make sure we are getting all the right information, then he offered to sale us the watch for lower the the lowest price we would find online! we ended buying one of the better modules and pay less then we thought of paying for (and for a less good module)
I feel as if he wanted us to get the best deal we can, that he cared and that if I ever have any problems or questions I can always return there.
what a GRAET service. 5 stars in my book.

My fiancé is training for a half-​marathon and decided her current shoes weren’t right for her.
We headed in and got some amazing customer service. The owner answered every question my fiancé had and then some. We left with two pairs of shoes that she could try out and see if they work. They tossed in a bonus pair of socks with her purchase too which I thought was a nice touch.
Def. where we will head for the next running related need.

I’m a long-​time resident in Reno and have only gone to Eclipse once, today. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of time the staff spent with me selecting and fitting my foot into the right shoe. In fact, they will take returns if I took my new shoes on a treadmill test run (no returns if you run on the road though). They even threw in a free pair of socks for me. I’m a fan and will continue to support a local business now that I realize how knowledgable they are and commited to customer satisfaction

Very disappointed, though not exactly surprised. I prefer to shop at local/​independent joints like this, but you run a certain risk. Ironically, many independent places are not run by people who have the best training in customer service: they may be passionate about whatever the shop carries (food, music, or in this case, running), but they are often not exactly the best at reaching out and creating awesome guest experiences. I don’t understand this frequently-​suicidal trait common to so many independent businesses.
Alas, this is certainly the case at Eclipse, at least during my visit. The store is TINY, like bedroom tiny. Its size wouldn’t be a problem if the staff deigned to acknowledge me… even once… even a hello. It’s like being in someone’s living room, when they’ve invited you for tea, but then refuse to speak to you. AWKWARD! If the store were bigger, it wouldn’t be as much of a problem, but… Weird. And sad, because I’m training for the marathon again and will need $ 100s in supplies over the next year. Oh well, off to Sports Authority where I can be ignored in peace! I will go in one more time to make sure that wasn’t a fluke, but it never is.

Eclipse is a great place to get everything «running» in Reno. First of all, they have much lower prices than the big box stores in the area. The shoes that I bought were about 20% cheaper than that of another place in town. Second this place is locally owned. We all know that small locally owned businesses are what keeps the economy alive. Finally, they know what they are talking about. Get over to Eclipse and get some help with your running problems and get back out there and run. Support this business!

I can’t believe that this store doesn’t have any reviews yet. Eclipse is «THE» running store in Reno. They have everything that a runner, marathoner, or even a triathlete needs. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and usually they throw in a few freebies when you buy shoes. I would highly recommend supporting these guys who are locally owned and know what they’re talking about over any chain store. If you need running shoes go… go now.
