Double R Car Wash

Still a solid rating of 4 stars. I can’t bump them up any higher because as they grow in popularity so do, obviously, their lines and wait times.
Being set off of a road I don’t take too frequently I am always delighted when I am able to drop by for a carwash. I prefer the self serve stalls as compared to the drive thru but the drive thru will do when I have no interest in getting out of the car.
This last time I decided to use the self-​serve option. I skipped the vacuuming and all the interior cleaning as I was only concerned with the exterior. I fed the quarters in and started on my carwash. After a few rounds of soaps and brushes and rinses, the car was shining.
With the crazy weather we’ve had lately, having a quick stop off to clean off the car is great.

I’ve been coming to this place for a while now and was happy but my last visit on 7÷14÷15 was pretty disappointing.
First off they’ve increased the cost of the touchless carwash — at the time of writing this it was $ 0.50, but still.
Secondly — they’ve clearly changed whatever they are using to clean vehicles because my car came out almost as dirty as it went in. This is totally unacceptable — unfortunately there is nobody around to talk to.
Time to go somewhere else…

I love how this place is cheap and the facility is always clean. It’s a do your own and the equipments seems to be top quality as well.

I have frequented this car wash for years, passing a few drive-​thru, self-​service and full-​service car washes. Lately, the cleanliness of the area has been an issue and I have noticed that the drive-​thrus are often closed. Today the trash cans were full, the credit card machine was not working and both drive-​thrus were closed. In addition to this, a customer was cleaning out his truck bed, removing junk that was all over the carport. Routine management throughout the day would be a great service.

There are things that I miss about Reno when I’m not here, and one of those things (sadly) is this car wash.
Sure, it’s self-​serve. I have to actually wash the car myself. So if you’d prefer someone else to do it, Double R is not the place for you.
But they take credit card. It’s not like all the other self-​serve places that work like a laundromat: you have to sit there and put quarters in until the water turns on and then you pray that you finish before the time runs out. No. Simply swipe the card and wash to your hearts content.
And, they have a spotless rinse that means I don’t have to dry my car. Spray, spray, leave. The water dries off and my little Sofie is left sparkling.
Plus, it’s cheap! After driving across the country we stopped here to remove the bug graveyard and after 15 minutes of washing our car, the total was $ 4. Yeah, get someone to wash your car for $ 4.

I have been to drive-​through car washes all over town, and this one is the best. There are two bays which cuts down on lines, and the pressure of the wash is very powerful. I’ve been to Squeekys down the street and it’s a joke compared to this car wash.
There are two drive-​in do-​it-​yourself bays if that’s more your style, plus several vaccuum and steam cleaning machines, and vending machines with Armor All, air fresheners, and all that good stuff.
Washes are half off on Wednesdays, although prepare for a line.
Prices are between 6 and 9 dollars, pretty much what you should expect from a drive-​through car wash.

This is kind of a hidden car wash off of Double R Blvd. that’s in the middle of a business park area. While it’s no hand wash, for $ 7.50 (which is the second to highest level) it’s totally worth it. After just getting my car hand washed, of course it rained. I took it to this place (which is right near my house) and it got the outside shined right up. Definitely worth the $ 7.50 to have the car shiny again!

Dog wash station looked like a great place to wash my dog. High table with several ways to keep him stationary. It’s outdoors so it wouldn’t get hot or muggy. That’s where my compliments end. Quarters only, no credit cards accepted. The water was warm, but that was all that worked. Out of shampoo and conditioner. Then the drier didn’t work either. Thank goodness I had a towel in my car to dry my dog off. Called the business number and left a message. Bobby called the next day and apologized for the inconvenience and stated he wanted to make it right. I called back stating I would like to come back in a couple days when everything was fixed. Never got a return call to make good on his wanting to make things right. So much for first impressions. I thought I found a great place to bathe my dog.

I needed to wash my car very late at night in November, in a town I had never visited before. I found this ²⁴⁄₇ car wash (Double R). 11 p.m. No one around. I put in a few quarters for the hose bay and couldn’t get it going — user error.
In the middle of that, a guy showed up on foot, which made me a little worried but, for small talk’s sake, I just mentioned I was figuring out the setup and had lost a few quarters already in the process.
He identified himself as the owner and told me to not worry, drive around, and take it through the automated car wash, on him. Not only did he cover the cost, he set it for the longest, most thorough car wash I had ever been through!
That was the nicest thing to do, at a time when I really needed it.
Since then, I have been meaning to start a Unilocal account JUST so I could relay this man’s kindness (and the quality of his car wash system).
Finally did so today.

This place is in a nice area, its clean & well kept looking & i like that u can chose between several different washes cuz my rust bucket dont need no super polish LOL! I even saw they have a DOG WASH! I was impressed with that lol.
