I had some repairs done today at devine automotive. They were excellent as always. Tad goes above and beyond for his customers. He is trustworthy and helpful and kind thank you

I am new in town and asked for a referral for auto repair from the place where I had my vehicle oiled and lubed. I was referred to Devine Automotive as the owner of the lube shop and the owner of Devine were friends.
I called and made an appointment to have my pick-​up assessed. I dropped it of in the early bird drop-​off. I was called and given the news that there were three things née ding my attention. I was quoted respective prices for each service, by Trevor. I believe he is one of the owners. My initial impression was that the prices were high. My previous experience on repair pricing was in Idaho so I was unfamiliar with Reno pricing.
I opted to only have Devine replace an oxygen sensor relative to a fault code PO138. I was verbally quoted $ 130 parts and labor. When I got a call that the work was finished I was told that the cost would be around $ 215. I don’t recall the exact amount.
When I arrived at the shop to pick up my truck, I mentioned that the quote was much less, stating that the estimate was «less than $ 200.»
«Okay, we’ll take $ 200» was the response. During the conversation, it was communicated that the estimate had to have been higher because «Nevada law would only allow 10% more than the estimate. I was then presented a bill for $ 194.24, which I paid. I wanted to secure my vehicle and
The receipt listed three charges:
Unidentified charge of $ 110
LEFT REAR O2 SENSOR NP 78.20T
Sales Tax 6.04
The receipt also listed «Drivers rear oxygen sensor is faulty. Estimate $ 130.00 parts and labor»
When I got back to my office, I called Devine and spoke with Tadd Devine and expressed my dissatisfaction. I told him that I felt cheated. He told me I would need to speak with Trevor as he did the bid. but that he was on the phone with another customer. I replied that it was his name on the sign, not Trevor’s. We continued in conversation for a few minutes. He tried to explain the difference in estimate vs. price as a diagnostic and service charge. I indicated that the bill did not list such charges and that none were quoted verbally or in the written quote.
I asked if Trevor were available. I was told that he was not there. I reminded him that he had just told me that he was on the phone with another customer. He told me he wanted to make it right. I told him that the best time to have made it right was when I was in the store. Mr Devine intimated that he would refund my account as he could use my debit card to do so.
We ended the call. There has been no effort to adjust my bill and refund my account. The service was done on February 3, 2016. Today is February 17^th, two weeks later.

This is THE place. I visited Devine Auto initially about 3 years ago before a long road trip. I just wanted to get my car checked out since it is older (2003 Toyota Corolla with 200k + miles) and they let me know everything looked fine and all they did was an oil change. Sweet! Again today, I took the car in, convinced that it needed a major tune up and a brake job. Imagine my surprise when they called me and told me my brakes were fine (lots of life left and that the noise was due to dust build up that they cleared out) and that they really only needed to perform an oil change and tire rotation (per my request). Really?! I was (am) seriously happy. These guys are really nice, both over the phone and in person. Scheduling an appointment was really easy, they open on time, their pricing is REALLY fair, and they don‘t try to sell you work that isn‘t needed. Awesome!

Made an appointment for an oil change and they got me in the next morning; their schedule seems very flexible which I like for being a college student and working full time. I was planning to go hiking after my oil change so I had my dog in the car. I was pleased when Tadd mentioned they are dog friendly and allowed me to bring Koda inside their lobby.
I showed up about 10 – 15 minutes early, they finished up with the client that was in the lobby then asked for my keys right on time for my 10am appointment. The wait time wasn’t bad at all, it took approximately forty minutes for the oil change. It was brought to my attention that my air filter was dirty & had mice nests inside. I asked how much he would charge to replace it and I was quoted $ 45-​$ 50. I told him I would just take care of it when I got home. When I did take a look at the air filter, it seemed relatively clean to me… I didn’t see much of a nest, just a little bit of debris which came off when I tapped the filter on the sidewalk. I have heard of places claiming you have an air filter that needs replacing just to scam you for money, but I honestly don’t believe that was the case here.
Overall, I really liked this place and I will continue to come here for maintenance and oil changes on my vehicle.

I recently dropped my BMW off at Divine Automotive because another shop told me I had a transmission leak and said it would cost me $ 800.00 to get it fixed. I was greeted by Trevor and I knew I was in the right shop! He was very nice, professional and also funny! He said he would call me with an estimate prior to starting any transmission work. He called me back only to inform me that there was NO TRANSMISSION LEAK. I was floored!!! I almost got ripped off by spending $ 800.00 on repairs that were unnecessary! This is my new shop if ever I need repairs! If you want an honest shop… go to Divine Automotive!

I’ve been here three times– This place is awesome. The staff is helpful and knowledgable, their prices are fair, and I never feel I’m being sold unnecessary repairs. They always finish their work when they say they will and can usually get you in pretty quickly.

I needed a high mile tune-​up, which was the first for my car since it was 100,000 miles. My husband and I researched shops and he settled for one. However, it had no review and was costly. I looked online at reviews and saw the high reviews for Devine so I decided to call. I spoke with Tadd who was very nice. Scheduled my tune-​up. They did a great job. Even changed my license plate bulbs that I didn’t know were out. The best part even with the exceptional service was the price. I saved hundreds of dollars than what other competitors were charging. I will definitely come back if I ever have problems with my car. From initial call (inquiry of price), reviews and overall experience, they did a GREAT job.

Ive been coming here for years and I wont take my car anywhere else! Excellent customer service with great prices. Best place in Reno/​Sparks area hands down!

I’ve been coming to Tadd & Trevor on and off for years — since they were with Compact Car Repair over on Wells. The only reason I don’t use them religiously is because often times I will get a new car and have prepaid maintenance through the dealer as part of my payment. Otherwise, they are my go to shop in town. I also have recommended them to family and friends over the years because I know them to be good-​natured, honest guys that don’t try to upsell or give you a line of BS.
With that said, Trevor’s demeanor on my last 2 encounters has been quite off-​putting. It’s obvious something is awry because a friend has also noticed the same thing. He sits in his chair and doesn’t even make eye contact or greet you when you walk through the door. What happened to the upbeat guy who used to happily talk with his customers? Tadd on the other hand is great and you can tell he really cares about his customers. I cannot speak highly enough of him. I hope that whatever is going on with Trevor can be worked out. Until then I will cautiously recommend them with the caveat that they should deal with Tadd if at all possible.
1 star based on Trevor, 5 stars based on Tadd, and 5 stars based on price/​quality of work = 4 stars overall.

I have been coming here for years and Tadd and the staff have NEVER let us down, overcharged or thrown in the «dealer hidden charges»!! They tell you what’s wrong and get to fixing the problem, pure and simple! No phony diagnostic charges when the problem is obvious.
I wish I had this kind of trust with all the service companies we deal with!!!

This is now the only place I will ever take all my cars to.
For years I was using a place closer to home, but last year started taking my car to Matt at Devine, what a difference. At the previous place I had mentioned a fluid leak the last three times I had the car in and they could never find it– but matt found it easily while changing the oil. They were great about calling and letting me know what they found before starting the work and found the problem with the battery that I was having.
Making an appointment was easy, as was dropping off and picking up the car. Front office is nice and clean if you are waiting.

After all these years I have finally found my auto repair shop!
Fast, friendly, fair, and overall an excellent experience. I highly recommend.

Tadd and his crew were great. Very professional and clean. My ’10 Ford F150 was idling rough and they had it all fixed up in just one day. And at a very affordable rate. Will definitely use their services again in the future (hopefully I won’t need their service).

It’s advertised on Unilocal that they open at 7:30am. I got there at 7:46am to find they were closed. I mean, I get it if Unilocal sometimes isn’t accurate. On top of that, I saw the two owners inside behind the computers eating cookies. I’m sure I was seen therefore I wasn’t acknowledged. Apparently my business isn’t needed. I did see a sign outside from 8:00am-5:00pm — but it’s wrong to not acknowledge your customer. I’ve had my car serviced with them before so I was surprised and extremely disappointed. This is just an honest take. I’m definitely finding another mechanic.

Excellent Service and personal interaction. I am a researcher and will take my time to find quality and consideration from any entity I choose to patronize. I moved to Reno in October 2012 and have been unimpressed with a nationwide chain here that I received exceptional service from in my previous locale. I am now hopeful I have found a local shop to take care of my vehicle like I was used to.
I knew I was in need of new front brakes. I visited more than 8 different businesses before selecting Devine Automotive. Not only did they treat me with respect, they recognized that I had at least a basic knowledge of my vehicle and at least attempted to make an effort to know what was going on with my mode of transportation. At a few places I received quick, straightforward quotes on service. Other places I got a run around and one in particular was actually hostile. After conducting my research I made the decision to get my vehicle serviced here. All of the personnel were polite, the service was completed ahead of the time estimate and the quote was accurate. This will be my «local» shop for service on my vehicle for anything they will service my vehicle for.

My wife and I used to own an Audi A4 that was nothing but trouble and at only 3 years old was falling apart. Even with extended warranty options the dealer always wanted a fortune to fix each sensor, electrical or mechanical issue that arose.
We would take it in first to the dealer for an estimate on repairs and turn around every time to get a second opinion from Devine. Every single time, Devine was less than half the price for parts and labor and had the car back to us in a day!
For example, two oxygen sensors went out. Audi quoted us $ 1200 to replace them indicating the engine had to be lowered to get to one of them. Devine quoted us just under $ 400, informed us they did not need to lower the engine, and they would have it done the next day! Now that’s service!
I now send everyone I know there and they are always impressed just the same.
I get all my service completed there and any repairs too. I am always confident it will be done right in a timely manner without killing the ol’ check book.
